  1. Given our recent tendency to concede careless goals, it will always be challenging for the defence to bounce back. We need to let our offence take the lead again. Rather than focusing on the defence, the midfield could alleviate some pressure, but the rest is up to Luke Williams.
  2. I’ve never heard of him, I have no clue who Mark Briggs is. Someone more knowledgeable needs to enlighten us youngsters.
  3. This is all quite surprising, but then again, there are some suspicious occurrences in Turkey. That being said, there’s no justification for taking matters into your own hands and attacking a match official. I bet this evokes memories of our own fans from a past era when violence was more prevalent in the English leagues.
  4. You wouldn’t want to be in a police lineup, as there are even people you encounter daily who resemble them! I wager there are a few more managers who do as well.
  5. Hull City v0-2Cardiff City Swansea City 1-1 Middlesbrough Barnsley 0-1 Charlton Athletic Port Vale 1-0 Wigan Athletic Doncaster Rovers 0-0 Morecambe Newport County 0-1 Grimsby Town Dagenham & Redbridge 2-1 Wealdstone Joker Dorking Wanderers 0-1 Woking
  6. Jamie Turley, who didn’t receive much appreciation, would have been more loved and connected with the fans had he joined us in any other season. Instead, there were unsettling individuals attempting to follow his wife on Twitter and labelling Jamie Turley as useless. He was a good player who unfortunately joined at an inopportune time.
  7. We’ve had a hectic period, facing various teams. We’ve performed well against some, but could have improved against others, like Walsall. I believe it’s crucial to regroup and maintain focus during matches, and hopefully, our training will yield results over time. I don’t think Walsall were particularly outstanding; their victory was more a reflection of our shortcomings. They reacted, while we let our spirits drop and didn’t sustain the same level of effort.
  8. @Fan of Big Tone Spot on! The player is indeed Peter Reid. I’ll keep you updated about the upcoming round. Thanks for your guesses and participation. We’ll be moving on to the next round shortly! Stay tuned for more updates on this.
  9. We’re aware of what Harrogate brings to the table, but I’m hopeful that we can leave all the disappointment in the past and concentrate on returning to consistent performances. I’m not overly concerned if we win without flair, but I do believe that for the sake of consistency, it’s always better to play well. I think this makes it easier for form to come naturally. Luke Williams needs to work out how to compensate for the void left by Matt Palmer’s injury. He’s one player we’re sorely missing, and it’s no surprise that his absence is keenly felt. Dan Gosling hasn’t made much of an impact so far, so perhaps it’s time to let him start a match and see how he fares from the get-go? I’ll be attending the match, so I’m hoping for some form of entertainment.
  10. No, it isn’t George Best. The hint I’d offer is that I’ve never seen this individual appear under the age of 40.
  11. He’s back in the Irish league, demonstrating his mediocrity, unable to make the grade in the Championship or League One. He should have performed well, but he appears to be a bit of a nuisance.
  12. When does deducting points lose its significance? Surely, if they’re penalised by 141 points, their season is effectively finished. It seems futile to let them carry on if it’s going to have a harmful effect on the club in the long run.
  13. Following the 17th round, Tony has widened his lead to 2 points. I’ll inquire with the gaffer about posting a bonus round featuring a photo of a footballer (who may not be associated with Notts). I’ll then let you know when the 18th round is scheduled. Points Table: @Fan of Big Tone - 7 @Fozzy - 5 @super_ram - 2 @KB1862 - 1 @liampie,- 1 @Piethagoram- 1
  14. @Fan of Big Tone No, he hasn't. It's not Cal Roberts. A further clue is that the owner of the club at the time was his biggest fan.
  15. No, it's not Jodi Jones. Yes, that's correct. Also, Vadaine Oliver is incorrect too.
  16. Why would I, laugh? It's incorrect but it's a smart guess @super_ram.
  17. It’s a splendid victory for Girona. Given the numerous problems Barcelona are facing, it’s no wonder that proficient teams are finding it more enjoyable to compete against them.
  18. Round 17: Clue: Born and bred in England, I am versatile on the pitch, capable of playing as a forward or an inverted winger. I am a product of my hometown’s academy and have had numerous appearances throughout my career. The pinnacle of my experience has been playing in League One. Upon my arrival at Notts County, I was hailed as a significant signing.
  19. I can’t really provide a definitive comment on that. I’m certain the club was functioning before 1864, as we’re recognised as being established in 1862. However, to my understanding, there wasn’t any official system in place until clubs began to register. I’m not sure if professional clubs needed to be affiliated with a cricket or other sports team to be classified as professional. I presume there were discussions beforehand, and 1864 was when most groups started to unite to form teams. This likely paved the way for the league to start in 1888. I can’t imagine people forming a club and then not playing for years. It was probably amateur or even just a group of forward-thinking individuals interested in establishing our club.
  20. Best of luck to Alan Sheehan. I wasn’t aware of his activities since retirement, but I’ve always thought he would make a good coach, assistant, or manager someday. I hope he gets the opportunity to manage a team properly at some point.
  21. From what I observed, I didn’t think they were any better than us defensively. We just didn’t pose enough of a threat. If we had played to our potential in the second half, Walsall wouldn’t have found it so easy. Their goalkeeper was also quite poor.
  22. It’s truly unfortunate that the fan passed away. I believe postponing the game was the right decision, as it would be difficult to play normally with such a tragic event on your mind.
  23. I saw an interview with Jimmy Sirrel where he mentioned that he joined Notts because he believed we had promising young players, not necessarily those who were older or experienced. I’m not familiar with Eric Probert, but seeing where the players come from reminded me of what Jimmy had said.
  24. There’s still a lot at stake, so well done to everyone who’s at the top. Keep striving for the top spot, unless you’re @ARLukomski, in which case just hold your position. ????
