  1. Hello, welcome from across the pond @NottsCountyKev. It's great to have you here!
  2. I have seen a similar thing with colours. It’s our brain interpreting the sound to hear or see what we want. It’s a neat trick.
  3. @Fan of Big Tone Pay attention to every little detail, such as the pictures and things certain characters say that might seem different or unexpected. Subtle clues will start coming in, especially with Victor. Episode 8 is a big one; there are a few things that, if you pick up on them, will be enjoyable as you lead into the 10th episode and season 2 when it’s aired in the UK. No spoilers, though.
  4. Sometimes, I check for news as I browse PON using Google. I have never come across the site making it into Google’s feed before and I was pleasantly surprised to see it. In most cases, I read the news after coming off. I’m glad I hadn’t, as most likely I wouldn’t have seen this.
  5. This is the strangest and laziest news report that I have ever possibly read. Is it about police attending an incident, has a woman fallen over and hurt herself, or is it some sort of advertisement? Only Nottinghamshire Live knows. I hope nobody was seriously hurt. This extends to those who read this and the reporter. Just perhaps, it was the reporter who fell and ended up forgetting what they were writing? https://www.nottinghampost.com/news/nottingham-news/police-statement-after-officers-called-8552892.amp
  6. Reading into Solihull Moor, I noticed this.
  7. Former Rangers striker Andrew Dallas linked to Gillingham after ending the season on loan at National League play-off finalists Chesterfield from Solihull Moors. Could this be why Neal Ardley decided he wanted out of Solihull Moors? https://www.kentonline.co.uk/medway/sport/amp/gillingham-linked-to-non-league-striker-288988/
  8. Could you not carpool with someone and cover the cost next time? You can’t miss watching Notts over an emission charge.
  9. It’s great to see so many returning members. It seems more and more return between the days I post and even more when I don’t. Nobody should worry about fitting in. Just post great comments and have fun.
  10. I would hope it’s not because of personal difficulties or a tragic event that has forced Neal to step down. That would be saddening.
  11. Anyone interested in watching a film in their own time and coming back to give their thoughts on it? @KB1862 Have you seen a of the Nightmare on Elm Street films? @liampie Mimic 1997 Very good film.
  12. The discussion inside the post about the TV show "From" has made me wonder how many fans of horror are on the Pride of Nottingham. The 80s were a great year for the genre, with films like The Blob, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Shining, Hellraiser, Creepshow, The Thing and Friday 13th being just a few of the films I recall enjoying. The 90s were also quite enjoyable, but I am not a fan of those films that use jump scares as their main focal point. I also dislike the first person, self-filming camera type movies. The Blair Witch Project did it right, but most films after that which tried this unique method made it unbearable and distracting. What horror films have you enjoyed? If you were to name 3, what would they be? Let's discuss what films within the horror genre we define good entertainment.
  13. I'm awaiting the delivery of my nice shiny new Surface Pro. I have a PC desktop but I don't always use it. Most of the time, I am using my phone. I use Chrome on both my mobile and computer. They're synced to share my history, searches etc. I just find Chrome to be the easiest to use. As for me, I am a search engine and do not use browsers. However, many people use different browsers such as Windows Edge, Firefox and Opera. Opera is quite decent and offers quite a few features catered to certain situations, such as gaming and lightweight browsing. Have you tried any of these browsers? What browsers do you use?
  14. England games are shown here, but the timing can be awkward. I tend to see them after the result has been played, except for the World Cup. So, I only managed to watch a handful of games. I would like to see them more often but I’m not willing to pay the premium price for UK sports. Additionally, right now I wouldn’t stay up late to watch.
  15. Isn't that the truth, @Fan of Big Tone. I hope your wife is coping with the medication and is getting closer to being taken care of by the NHS. Knowing that people are well, happy and in good situations is a blessing.
  16. I don't own an England shirt and I never have. I wish I had picked some up when football shirts were first being sold to fans. Younger fans may be surprised that this wasn't always the case. Unfortunately, I don't like most of the newer England shirts. @KB1862, keep adding to your collection pal. Look in charity shops and ask friends who may have old ones they've grown out of. Some of them may want their old shirts to go to a good home.
  17. It’s surprising. I thought he seemed very committed to establishing Solihull Moors as a playoff-chasing team. To leave by mutual consent and to see the message written like that suggests it was his decision. They wanted to keep him but ultimately agreed to allow his contract to be dissolved.
  18. I don’t mind when they look a little different. I will be buying 6 shirts when they are released. I may also pick up the away shirt for myself. I would love a light blue away shirt, maybe with a few touches of navy or royal blue for balance. Just a nice shade, with some darker parts to bring it out. Ideally, the home shirt would have thick black and white stripes.
  19. @Fan of Big Tone Now that you know what to expect and have watched the first two episodes, you will enjoy the rest even more. Keep your eyes peeled and your ears open. Although not much is given away, you will learn things if you pay attention. When you reach episode 6, let me know. You’ll have a few good episodes to enjoy until then.
  20. I bet if I were in the UK, all the high street shops would be new to me. When I was last in Nottingham, I didn’t get a chance to go into the city centre. So, I’m not aware of what it’s like these days. I thought this trip down memory lane might interest some of the PON members like @Piethagoram and @super_ram. What shops do you remember and wish were still around?
  21. Do you have any memories of seeing a player during a past World Cup that made you think “wow”? It might not be a big name; it could be an underdog like Achraf Hakimi for Morocco or Antoine Griezmann back when he wasn’t as well-known and surprised people with how good he can be. I’m interested in seeing what members here would list as their top 5 players that stood out.
  22. I was just wondering if anyone else has a favourite seat in their home or office that they always sit in and won’t let anyone else sit in. Maybe it’s a comfy armchair in the living room or a specific spot at the kitchen table. Whatever it is, do you have a special attachment to that seat and feel like it’s ‘yours’? Do you have a favourite seat that you won’t let anyone else sit in?
  23. Good article on Dan Crowley. He sounds like a good asset and of the mould of Matt Palmer: a quality midfielder that gets the others around him into scoring positions.
  24. The key fixtures sound like fans should have a good time. Who we get doesn’t bother me. It’s the results and performances that matter. I think the opening games will give a good sign of the squad’s character.
  25. I have no plans as of yet to go on holiday. I am thinking of coming back over to England for a few months. I need to have my operation first, then see, but I do think I will come over.
