  1. 39% so far for Matt Palmer. I am a little surprised by this. Not because he isn't a very good player from what I have seen, but more so for the clear success that Macaulay Langstaff has had. It says a lot about the dynamic midfielder that he has quietly done his best and is reaping the praise from supporters on the Pride of Nottingham.
  2. Macaulay Langstaff is running away with this. I bet even a fortune teller could have made predictions of such praise. Mind you, scoring 42 in a single season is quite handy to know beforehand.
  3. I haven't voted. I wouldn't know where to start and it wouldn't be fair either, but I found this to be very useful. It's brimming with information useful to an exile like me. I encourage anyone who hasn't done so yet to make sure you vote and leave a comment. It's worth it!
  4. Just to mention, I have watched all the goals and therefore I am voting. I believe the free-kick by John Bostock was an excellent strike. It couldn't have been any clearer or better placed. It was so good.
  5. Welcome back, @Canadian. How are things going for you? I hope you've managed to stay up-to-date with Notts.
  6. I think you're right. That's why sites like the Pride of Nottingham do a great job. Jackie Sewell will always be a legend of the game. It was such a sad loss to the footballing world when he passed away.
  7. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @JohnTheBost! We’re glad to have you here and we hope you’ll enjoy the forum. How long have you been supporting Notts County? We’d love to hear more about your experiences as a fan.
  8. With an impressive 42 goals to his name, it’s no wonder I was compelled to vote for Macaulay Langstaff as the signing of the season. He has proven to be a brilliant asset to the club and an absolute steal of a bargain! Was yiur uncle aware of his background before making such a remark? In a professional setting or even on the internet, a comment like that would surely spark a flood of witty retorts! Considering he’s only one tier below our league, I doubt he’ll ever live it down. ????
  9. It can be challenging to choose between so many helpful members when the quality of posts is consistently high. In the end, I voted for someone who not only shares valuable content but also goes out of their way to welcome new members to the community.
  10. Even though the game wasn’t the most exciting, Boreham Wood earned their victory against Barnet with a final score of 2-1. At times the game was a bit rough around the edges, but Boreham Wood’s emphasis on offense ultimately proved successful.
  11. From Tommy Lawton, Jackie Sewell to Lee Hughes, Notts County has seen its fair share of talented players over the years. Who stands out as the best? What makes him so special to you?
  12. Notts County has a reputation for developing young players who go on to play for higher-profile clubs. Who are some notable players that Notts County has helped nurture, and what qualities do you think the club has that allows it to develop such talent?
  13. I am eagerly anticipating the forthcoming match between Notts County and York City, and I cannot wait to read the post-match comments. As a devoted fan, winning against York is the main objective, and I hope that the team puts on an impressive performance that captivates the crowd. A strong display can generate a feel-good factor that will carry the team into the playoffs. I have been impressed by the efforts of Luke Williams, and I am confident that he will lead the team to victory. With his leadership, along with the hard work and dedication of the entire squad, I am predicting a strong and positive scoreline in Notts County's favour. A 3-0 win.
  14. It's unfortunate that newspaper comic strips often lack accuracy and thorough research, but it is refreshing to see some actual data being presented about Notts County's fees for picking up other clubs' talent. While it may not be as significant as some of the larger sums seen in the market, it is still noteworthy that Notts County is spending more than other clubs like Stockport, Grimsby, or Barrow. This sheds some light on the financial side of the game and adds an interesting element to the discussion.
  15. Is it possible that the person in question is Jeff Astle?
  16. I have considered paying for a season ticket despite living in the US, but I never have because it seems daft and possibly a waste of resources for the club. Instead, I buy merchandise to the tune of twice the amount, just to cover it. After COVID, I even gave some shirts to my neighbors who expressed an interest in UK football. Supporting the club in my own way feels good and I know that my contribution is making a difference.
  17. Football can be an expensive sport, but with the success of last season and this current campaign that is near the end, along with the new ownership, it seems like the money is well spent. As fans, let's just enjoy ourselves and support our team! After all, the memories and experiences we gain from watching our team play are priceless.
  18. Winning against Maidstone 5-2 was a great accomplishment. Credit must be given to the opposition for getting back into the match. Jim O'Brien played exceptionally well it seems and it's good to see Cedwyn Scott getting on the score sheet. The confidence must be high! In the next game against York City, any signs of nerves need to be cut out to ensure a strong performance.
  19. The playoffs shouldn't be feared. It all comes down to preparation, mental awareness, and rising to the occasion. Besides, it's an experience that should be enjoyed. Like you were saying to @super_ram, it's a good thing for players to have on their CV, even if it does say runner-up (For Derby but it applies to Notts). The experience of playing at Wembley should help the players step up their game, having been there before.
  20. Jim is a true hero of Notts County and should be respected as a playing legend. His contributions to the team and the sport will always be remembered and appreciated by fans and players alike.
  21. ????Jimmy in the middle, what a superb result! Great job by the team.
  22. Congratulations to Wrexham on winning the title! Both teams have pushed each other throughout the season and without that close rivalry, it might have been a different story. I also want to passionately and genuinely praise Ryan Reynolds for his kind comments about Notts. It’s great to see such sportsmanship.
  23. I appreciate Williams’ honesty about the team’s focus on improving their performance for the recent game in Kent. It’s good to hear that they’re not making excuses and are pushing for better. It sounds like he got the response he wanted.
  24. It sounds like a thrilling match unfolded between Notts and Maidstone United. To read about them coming away with a resounding 5-1 victory must have been a delight for all involved. Goalkeeper Archie Mair, despite making some crucial saves along the way, he didn't quite managed to keep a clean sheet. All in all though, the team demonstrated true grit and determination to earn themselves three points on the road in their last away game of the National League season. The highlight of the evening undoubtedly belongs to Jim O'Brien, bagging himself a rare hat trick. Heading into injury time, he stepped up to take a penalty which sealed his place in the history books alongside the likes of Mark Stallard and Mark Draper. There has been talk of many standout individual displays on show during this encounter. Ruben Rodrigues provided two assists and put in some dangerous crosses, while Cedwyn Scott returned from injury to make an impressive impact up front and set up one of O'Brien's strikes. Notts must keep focused on their final home next weekend.
  25. This is a fantastic idea. Unfortunately, I can tell that I am too late, but even then I am not sure I would have correctly guessed. There have been a few players who worked in the building trade before making their debut and after retirement.
