It was a successful weekend for Notts Women reserves in their Cup match against Hull City Women reserves winning 5:2.

Records galore broken by this young fella in this match. Youngest ever player to get 10 wickets in a first class match on these shores, beating a record held since 1865 by the one & only WG Grace no less. He looks like is going to have a very good future in Cricket.

The defensive display that the Notts Women demonstrated in the first half against Forest in the cup, carried into this match too. When the ladies had to defend they defended well, and got the goal that won the match early in the second half. The new additions this season looks like they have improved the squad strength, & I'm sure confidence is high too after 2 wins out of three.

This is a different kind of win to what we are used too. Instead of the domination and flair exhibited by Notts in most of their wins, this was a win which exuded, character, determination & dogged defending at times to get the win. If a team wants success, they need to be able to win games that they are not going to dominate or play well, & this was one of those games. Stuart was absolutely delighted with this performance, & he has a right to be too. This win is just as important as any win such as the win against Grimsby last week. Sometimes it is the result that counts & Notts got the result Onwards to the next game.
