  1. Notts County Women have their third signing of the day. Welcome Toni McHamilton.
  2. Learn more about Neve Hincks, Notts Women new Midfielder.????
  3. Up early this morning. Another nice morning in Mansfield. Not a cloud in the Sky early morning. A little bit cooler today. Nice breeze too. Job number one. Filled the car with unwanted junk, you know, the stuff you collect over the years, that gather dust, & took to the recycle. Asked where the general waste is? They don't have one now, so spent about an hour sorting the junk into different skips. The recycle place don't waste anything now.. Spent the early afternoon sat in the garden taking the sun in. Still lots to do in house & garden but no rush
  4. Welcome to Neve Hincks. Notts Women make their second signing of the day. Five incomings pre season now.
  5. I hope this isn't true and it's just a rumour. Would be sad if Notts let our playmaker go.
  6. Millie, Notts County Women's new arrival. Hear her first interview????
  7. A new addition to the Notts squad. Welcome Millie Qaintance.
  8. As we go into a new season the Notts faithful are hopeful of achieving more success with the nine players that have come into the Club. The club has never been in such better hands than it is now under the Reedtz brothers in my opinion. The Club is in a good financial state with great season ticket sales and other money making ventures doing well, such as the Nest, which is proving highly popular. Long may their ownership continue with more success to look forward to in the coming years.
  9. As some have said on this thread fake football kits are so good nowadays, you can't tell them apart from the real thing. Fake merchandise is big business and it isn't just football kits, & other football related brands, it's any merchandise that can be valuable from watches to mobile phones to even currency. The Football clubs and the authorities do their best to counter it, but in the end purchasers should only purchase from a reputable source such as their own football club. I myself would only go to the club shop to purchase shirts & other Notts brands.
  10. Big landmark for Notts. Meadow lane will be rocking.
  11. @Fan of Big Tone @super_ram I have to have an eye test every year to ensure I pass my HGV medical which is yearly, either by an optician or the Doctor during the medical I'm due to go for an eye test soon. My eyes seem to deteriorate a little every year for long distance. Reading is ok.
  12. I have always loved to hear Mark's analysis when he is co-commentating on the Notts matches. He is so knowledgeable and knows Notts like the back of his hand. I believe his post match analysis was spot on too. I also believe that there are more positives to take from the Shrewsbury match than negatives. The first half was absolutely outstanding, and when under the cosh in the second half the Notts team showed lots of character to get back on terms. As Stallard rightly pointed out, we shouldn't dwell to much on the penalty shootout result. The match against League 1 opposition was commendable when you look at it on hindsight. I do share Stallard's hopes for the season ahead, and I think that Notts will be a force to be reckoned with Stuart's new team this season in League 2. The first game of the season at a rocking meadow lane is going to be a special occasion, with a big crowd and plenty of noise. Can't wait
  13. @Fan of Big Tone we've had one for a few years now. When you see the dirty water you do wonder where it's come from, but it does do an excellent job.
  14. @liampie Good grief I've seen some lows at Notts in my time, and have seen some magnificent highs as well. I think the worse result for me was Notts losing to non league Runcorn in the FA Cup 1:0 in Dec 1967. The best result & feeling for me was when Notts beat Brighton 3:1 in the 2nd division playoff final in 1991. Two playoff wins in a row I think the seventies & early to late eighties are two exceptional stand out periods for Notts. As well as three periods in the nineties The early 20s have started very well too, hopefully Notts can keep it going and make it a decade to rival the 70s We enjoy the good times and put up with the bad times. But that is all what a football sporter's lot is.
  15. Thursday. A bit cloudy today, much fresher out. The wind has got up and there is now rain in the air. In the garden our Rudbeckia Fulgida yellow Prairie flowers are coming out. Looks like a good year for them. We were both going to shampoo the living room carpet today, but as we had a Tesco delivery this morning we've postponed it for another day
  16. @liampie I agree. It is vital that Bass is given as much game time as possible to let him gel with the three new boys in defence. That area is going to be vital for Notts this season.
  17. Fleetwood will be a big test for the Magpies on Sunday, having been relegated from League 1 last season. They will be keen to continue their good start to this season's campaign, having already won their first two competitive matches. Stuart needs to pick his strongest available side. I expect Bass to return in goal, with Platt, Bedeau & Macari in defence. In midfield I would keep Hinchy, Austin & Crowley & Scott to continue his partnership with Jatta upfront, Jones on the wing of course. Stuart may choose to play Chicksen as left wing back with Jones on the right again. Stuart has been hampered by injuries. We will have to watch his pre match presser, to learn if any players will be returning. Notts need to keep things tight at the back as they did against Tranmere. Opportunities up front will come so I'm hoping for a positive result on Sunday.
  18. Macca started the game for Millwall in their league cup win at Portsmouth, but Macca is still without a goal for his new club.
  19. This will be the make up of the National League Division 1 Midlands for the 2024/25 season. 12 teams with 22 games in total. It will be a tough league for Notts because the standard is really good.
  20. I can remember going on holiday to Warners Puckpool in the Isle of Wight in the summer of 1960. They had a children's singing competition & I could sing some of the songs of the day because Mum and Dad had one of those retro early 60s record players. I asked my Dad if I could join in, well they stood me on a chair on the stage in front of a big microphone & Audience. I sang Green finger by Adam Faith. I knew all of the words, I got the audience laughing because I wouldn't stop and surprisingly, I finished up winning it. My parents loved going to the holiday camps of Warners & Butlins Here's the song that I sang. It's quite catchy.
  21. Game one of Notts County Women's 2024/25 campaign in the National League Division 1 Midlands League (tier 4), kicks off on Sunday 18/08/24 at Coronation Park Eastwood, against Lincoln United WFC, kick off is at 2pm. Coronation Park Eastwood is the new home venue for Notts Women this season, they were previously resident at the RM Stadium, Hucknall Town's home ground. Notts narrowly avoided the drop last season finishing third from bottom. Notts have had Five exciting additions to their squad in the summer, so there is hope within the camp that Notts can improve to become a mid table side. Lincoln United will be a tough test after being promoted to the National League Division 1 Midlands, from the East Midlands Women's Regional Football League Premier Division as Champions.(tier five)
  22. A quick word with Notts Women's new signing, winger Rhea Bailey.
  23. @Blake not good is it, but I'm sure they will sort things out sooner or later. I'm in the same position.
  24. The first half display by Notts was absolutely fantastic. Most have said that that display was the best under Stuart Maynard & I agree. The second half wasn't so good & the multiple substitutions at a critical time in the game didn't help either. But after having conceded those quick three goals in the second half it was heartening that Notts rallied, and Jatta scored with a header from a corner..Hope he gets many goals like that. Sad that Notts subsequently lost on penalties but everyone knows that penalties are lotteries anyway. There are positives to take from this game and Stuart was keen to discus them. The performance in the first half then the character shown at the end. The record will show Notts achieved a creditable draw against league 1 opposition. Lessons will be learned too. We move on now to our first home game & if Notts play as well as they did in that first half last night on Sunday, Notts have a great chance of getting a positive result in their first home game.
  25. @NottsTastic Bass was rested last night. Stone was the Goalkeeping substitute.
