Lost railways of Nottingham
I visited Victoria Station a few times with my Dad to do some train spotting. It was a sin when they closed it because it was a much better line to the South and North. My Dad said at the time that they would regret closing it, plus other Stations & ripping up all those lines around the Country during the Beeching cuts, & I believe the powers that be do regret it, now that the roads are getting gridlocked.

They once played for Notts : Eric Probert
Yes he was. Eric came to us from Burnley after being a really good youth prospect. He spent 5 years with us and I remember him playing very well in many games for us. He was a regular fit in midfield for the first 3 years, but his appearances reduced due to injuries in his last 2 years at Notts. In all he played 122 games and scored 24 goals for us before going to Darlington.

Notts County’s Momentum: ‘One-nil Up is Not Job Done,’ Says Luke Williams
Luke has identified where the problems are and he's ready to go into the upcoming transfer window to strengthen the areas where we are lacking in defence, midfield & goalkeeper. I'm sure Luke Knows who he wants out of the players who will be available during the January window. Now that Macari has signed permanently, that gives us another option on the loan front too. Maybe go for a goalkeeper here to cover for Sam. I'm confident Luke will sort it.

One for the older supporters
In addition to Brad, Stubbs & Tony, some other names from that team: Bill Brindley & Bob Worthington solid full backs :David Needham centre back later with Forest under Clough: Don Masson midfield future Scotland international: Jon Nixon & Charlie Crickmore on the wings. Barry Watling solid goalie: Mick Jones defender but could play anywhere in defence. Richie Barker forward came from Derby. They were exceptional all over the pitch.

One for the older supporters
What a team that was. Tony Hateley coming back for his second spell, scoring 32 goals from 57 appearances. And, How could we do with Brian Stubbs at the heart of our defence right now? Oh and how could I forget. We had Les Bradd too, terrorising those opposition defences & the mystro Don Masson orchestrating everything good from midfield. Unfortunately, I don't remember who we were playing at the time in a home fixture that season, but I can see it now, Charlie Crickmore down the wing with a pin point cross right on Tony's head and the keeper had no chance. One of the best headers of the ball, I've seen. It was a great side built by Jimmy. That Championship Win was the beginning of a couple of decades of success that I will never ever forget.

Future Prospects: Recruitment, Defensive Fixes, and Trust in Luke Williams
Luke Williams is the best man to get us challenging for promotion. Don't forget, we are still in a position to challenge for promotion in 2024. We have to take note that we have stepped up a level. We have to compete with every team in this league no matter where that team is in this league they will all be tough. We've already seen it in the first half of the season. All the teams are capable of beating each other in this league. Teams have studied us and they have their plans to exploit any weakness we have. We just have to ensure their plans don't succeed. I've no doubt Luke will sort things out in the new year with the right recruitment to strengthen our squad.

I’m Not Fond of It, But I See the Reasoning
For me I've always been one for the players to do their talking on the pitch. The Manager/ Head Coach is obligated to face the media of course. Always good to get their thoughts and feedback. That's fine. Players are under enough pressure to perform week after week without having to worry about having to face the media for post match interviews.

Goalkeeper dossier : Harrogate v Notts
I agree with others. Aidan just lacks confidence, just as other members of the team do. It will pass after a set of good results.

Highlights 2023
A fantastic 12 months of success for our great club. The progress that we have made during this time is absolutely remarkable, but also well deserved, setting records on the way. Not only winning promotion, but in a position at the end of 2023 to challenge for back to back promotions. Roll on 2024.

European Super League
I believe the Champions league should be for one set of Clubs, Champions only of their national Premier leagues. When they increased the number of clubs that could qualify they devalued the competition & it became just a money making exercise, and it also finished up devaluing the Cup completions because the big clubs field their weaker teams now.

From the Stands to the Field: The Impact of Notts County Fans on Match Days
Like with every Notts fan, I've gone through every emotion following this Club. This club has something special about it. The history, the successes tinged with the failures, the ups, & the downs, Witnessing milestones like 3k, 4k & 5k league matches Privileged to see 3 great Managers and witnessing us going from the Fourth to the First Division. And last but certainly not least, being part of this great and loyal fanbase that have played their part in the success of the club. Long may it continue.

Luke Williams Confident in Notts County’s Ability to Achieve Sustained Success
I believe in Luke Williams & I am convinced that he will get us out of the blip in form, & turn things around in the new year. To be still in sixth place and challenging for a play off spot halfway through the season. I'm sure many Notts fans would have settled for that at the beginning of the campaign.

Notts County Welcomes Lewis Macari to the Family Permanently
I believe this is a great signing for Notts. Lewis is an exciting young player that has loads of potential to grow, and I look forward to seeing his further progression in the black and white.

Macualay Langstaff Reflects on a Remarkable Year for Notts County
Macaulay has written himself into Notts County folklore with his goals that got us back into the Football League. I just hope that he will stick around at Meadow Lane for a few years because he can certainly make more history for Notts & help us to climb that Football pyramid.

Match Discussion: Game 24 - Rovers (H)
Agree: Our attacking prowess has always been our strength and has been masking our failings in defence since the beginning of the season. That's why I'm confident that once we have sorted out our defensive shortcomings, we can push on after the new year. We really need a good start to the game on Boxing day.

Our Grand Old Stadium
I have such great memories of our grand old stadium at Meadow Lane. I can remember when we played Everton in the FA Cup at home on a wet day in March 1984, standing on the Cop getting wet through. The ground was absolutely packed with 10K Everton fans. We lost to an Andy Gray header he headed in only a few inches off the ground. When I was a boy I would stand at the front of the Cop, behind the goal. When I grew taller, I would watch Notts standing on the County Road side or pop side. There was a large step at the back of the lower tier that you could get a good view from standing at the half way line if you got a place there. Spent many years standing. Never sat down until it became all seater. How many of you remember our old ground and where did you watch the games. Did you prefer to sit or stand?

Steve Cooper sacked
Definitely. And another important change that has crept into the game is the Head Coach not picking the players to bring in to his club. It's right that the Manager should consult others over recruitment, but the Manager should have the final say over who to recruit.
