  5. It's a good night for Notts after the Tuesday evening games Barrow 3 Oldham 2. Oldham can no longer threaten Notts for a playoff place. Chesterfield 2 Grimsby 1 A win for Notts on Saturday & Grimsby, who remain in 8th place would need to win all their remaining games to overtake Notts. I think that Notts are virtually secure of a playoff place.

  11. The poll has now closed. We have a tie for first place this week. I'm pleased to announce that Matt Palmer & young Luke Browne share the Pride of Nottingham's Man of the Match award against Cambridge.
  12. At the end of the day Notts were missing lots of first team players in key positions. It's obvious that the squad as a whole isn't strong enough, & this has been the problem since Notts got promoted. I believe it's a big reason why Notts don't seem able to play consistently well over a full season. Six wins and six defeats in their last twelve matches demonstrates this failing very well.
  13. I don't take any lack of voting personally. The way I look at it is whether the players contribute to a brilliant team performance or a very poor one, like we saw against Cambridge, there has to be a player that emerged above the rest for Notts on the day. There will always be a winner no matter what the circumstances are that will either count as a single win or sharing a win. Whether they win with one vote or 50 votes, it still counts as a win. I also think that we have to give our opponent credit for there performance on the day. Listening to Cambridge's head coach, he was very pleased with his team's performance. Sometimes our opponents can be too good for us on the day.
  14. We are still in with a shout of promotion either by the automatics or playoffs. There are some very tough games to come for those teams above & below us, as well as ourselves. Notts need to do the business themselves over their last three matches, & see what happens elsewhere. I think there will be lots of twists and turns to come before the end of the season.
  15. I'm still optimistic that Notts can get success this season. Notts are in the top four after 43 games, & we still are in the mix to achieve an automatic promotion place. That goal is no longer in our hands but there are still some awkward matches left for those teams above us & immediately below us. Notts just need to do the business themselves over these last three matches to keep the pressure on. It could even go to the last League match before we know Notts fate this season.
  16. I think that we should give credit to Cambridge for their performance. Their desire and intensity was spot on & Notts couldn't deal with it & the way they played against us. Unfortunately under and thoroughly deserved their victory. We move on & I'm sure Notts will try to put it right next Saturday against Barnet. We are still in fourth place after 43 games & we still have a chance of automatic promotion.
  17. As Captain he should be leading on the field at all times and especially when the team isn't performing. Notts need a leader that will take the game by the scruff of the neck. He's just not that type unfortunately.
  18. I'm going to give my award to Luke Browne. He came on as a substitute in the 57th minute & I think that he tried his best when all of the other senior players didn't turn up.
  19. A very abject performance today from Notts. There is no other way to describe it. So who came out of that match for Notts with any credit in your opinion? Those players I have included for you to choose the best of the rest are? Belshaw, Macari, Ness, Bedeau, Tsaroulla, Palmer, Norburn, Bennetts, Grant, Iorpenda, Ndlovu, Browne, Hall
  20. League 2 Table after today's matches
  21. It is Notts's heaviest defeat since their first game back in League 2 when they lost 5:1 at Sutton at the start of the 2023/24 season.
  22. Update.(87) Hughes tips Ndlovu:s header on to the post - and Luker's offside as he tries to bundle the loose ball home. Cambridge 4-0 Notts Full time Cambridge 4 Notts 0
  23. Update. (74) Enoru hits the side-netting after bringing Palmer's long ball under his control in the area. Cambridge 4 Notts 0
  24. Martin has done his level best with this squad to get Notts where they are. Stuart did the same last season. A Head Coach can only work with the players he has.
  25. Update Goal for 10 man Cambridge. Cambridge 4 Notts 0
