  4. Good morning it’s a nice start to the day here and the forecast is for some warm weather. I’ve got a couple of hedges to cut I just hope it isn’t to painful for my bad arm because the hedge trimmer is heavy, I’d better do them before we go away though otherwise they’ll be more work when we get back. The back lawn also needs a trim but I might leave that until tomorrow, I’m a bit achy after yesterdays run. I hope everyone is having a great weekend.
  5. Lots of ones already listed that I liked to watch. Here’s some more. Sea Hunt with Lloyd Bridges Highway Patrol with Broderick Crawford Kojak Starsky and Hutch 3-2-1 The Generation Game Bill and Ben The Wooden Tops Muffin the Mule
  6. We’ll 2-0 down after 6 minutes, I thought “here we go” but Notts fought back and showed true class to win 4-2, that’s a great result and we are top of the league but as Stall points out it means nothing yet. However full credit to Maynard and the team I’m so pleased for them. Altogether now: “WE’RE NOTTS COUNTY WE’RE TOP OF THE LEAGUE”
  7. Don was known as “the king” and for good reasons he controlled the game for Notts, he was captain and took all the set pieces, a real leader of men, it’s a great privilege for me to say I watched him play, he was a real maestro.
  8. Happy birthday @ARLukomski I hope you have a great day and a nice present of 3pts.

  13. Hi @Robbie no I’ve not been able to get an appointment, thankfully it’s not giving me pain it’s sort of split in half but the root is not exposed it’s just a bit sharp and jagged, I won’t get anything until next week now, I’ll phone on Monday. Today I’m going to do a park run for the first time in a couple of weeks so it will be tough on the old legs, wish me luck. I hope everyone has a good day and those travelling to the match have a safe journey.

  15. Oh dear @Wheelbarrow repair man it sounds like you’ve been through a really rough time, I hope you can make a complete recovery and are back at the lane soon shouting abuse at the ref. Take care.
  16. You’re right there mate, as you get older more and more things go wrong. Oh well looking on the bright side getting old is better than the alternative.
  17. Oh dear, the day was going so well then I had breakfast and broke a tooth. I wouldn’t mind but I was only eating weetabix and raisins. Our dentists has gone from very good to hopeless, I phoned them no appointments unless you’re private of course, might be able to get you in on Monday. Sigh! At this rate I’ll have no top teeth at all, I seem to be losing them one by one, I’ll have to have another tooth fitted to my partial denture when they take the broken one out.

  21. Hmm, I can’t really think of any interesting tales I can tell at the moment but I’ll have a think and watch this topic with interest.
  22. Good morning it’s Friday and the weekend starts here, it’s a cold start with temperatures down to 4 degrees during the night. I’m thrilled to bits this morning because when I stepped on the scales (as I do every morning) I have dropped below 13 stone for the first time since last October, I’m really pleased about that because I wanted to lose half a stone because I know I’ll put it back on again when we go on holiday but at least I’m starting from a low point rather than piling on more on top of already being overweight. Ideally I’d like to drop to 12 stone but I don’t think that’s achievable without a sustained effort of doing lots of exercise and starving myself. Veggie curry tonight so that won’t be too calorific. Have a lovely day whatever you are doing.
  23. The rise in attendances has been nothing less than amazing, I remember watching Notts in a cold Tuesday night when there’s been less than 4,000 in the ground and around 5,000 on a nice sunny Saturday, to get over 10,000 would have been beyond our wildest dreams. When Albert Scardino owned the club he started a campaign to get “8 through the gate” they sold cheap tickets in a bid to get 8,000 fans in the ground but it rarely happened. The present owners deserve credit for the level of support we are now getting the matchday experience has changed remarkably since they came.
  24. @liampie well in reality it’s true he could still go in January, I believe Langstaff committed to a long term contract but we still sold him to Millwall, I don’t think fans who say that are being negative they are just being realistic, unfortunately that’s football, I’m sure if an offer came in that matched the owners valuation then Jodie would be sold. It’s better than him seeing out his contract and going for nothing. However it does show that Jodie is willing to commit and that the owners want him to stay, so I hope he is here for many years and thrilling us with his skills.
