  1. I wasn’t at the game so I can’t comment about Collin’s performance, there are a lot of fans out there who seem to positively hate him whereas KN seems to praise him at every opportunity. Can anyone at the game tell us if KN’s words are a true reflection of Collin’s performance?
  2. Still a great player I’m happy to see him with us next year, he always gives 100% and will be a good role model for the younger players.
  3. This would be a great signing, I’d be happy signing the devil himself if it helps Notts progress. I think he will go to a higher level club though.
  4. Four games to go and anything can happen, I’m glass half full, we’ll go up.
  5. I hope not because Forte has earned another start, it’s up to Stead to fight his way back in to the team.
  6. A great win, especially the way they scored shortly after the Coventry fans were going barmy celebrating their equaliser. They are showing the team spirit and dogged determined mentality that they had earlier in the season, I’m glad we’ve got our Notts back. This will give them confidence for the run in. Great to see Forte scoring two goals and giving KN a headache for the next match. I agree with @chris I think KN hasn’t been picking him because he is quiet but I notice KN said in the interview afterwards that he was happy to be proved wrong. Special mention also for Virtue who had his best game for Notts.
  7. Yeah but apart from that we should be ok.....shouldn’t we? Seriously, you are probably right @Truefootballfan but we can live in hope. I don’t know about anyone else but I’ve been trying to get a ticket online for the last couple of days, the website isn’t working, it’s driving me mad and then I get an email saying it will be busy so buy your ticket online and print it at home. AAARRRGGGHHH!!!
  8. Great comments @Lozzle1 I couldn’t have said it better myself Social Media has a lot to answer for. I get sick of reading the comments from our so called supporters on Twitter and Facebook. I remember the old days when if you wanted to criticise the club, manager or players the worst you could do was write a letter to the football post other than that you moaned to your mates down the pub after the match.
  9. It was real hard luck when Bennett was injured, I think he'd have been an important player, another blow was when we lost the young Ryan Yates to Scunthorpe.
  10. It’s going to be another tough match, Coventry will be looking to bounce back after that incredible result last week 2-6, not many would have forecast that. We need a win to keep alive any hope we have of automatic promotion and to bolster our position in the playoffs. It’ll be a nervy match, I just hope our players keep strong, don’t make any silly mistakes or rash tackles. Defend well, keep a clean sheet and hope we get some chances up front.
  11. Well I was taking it all in until I saw @super_ram‘s comment.
  12. I do think that in this instance KN was justified in his criticism, however I think he goes too far in his protests, he ought to calm down a bit, getting sent to the stands doesn’t help the team, they need him on the touch line. Then again I suppose we’d be complaining if he stood docile and wasn’t passionate at least it shows he cares.
  13. I am worried about this one, we never seem to be able to put in a good performance in front of the TV cameras, plus I used to work in Chesterfield and am still in contact with some ex colleagues who are spireite fans, they will give me grief if we lose. I might have to turn my phone off.
  14. I find it amazing that they sell more tickets for this game than they do for some of their home games. It shows what it means to their fans and how important it is, I think this is communicated to their players which is why they seem to put in a super human effort when they come here, they always seem to be up for it more than our players. Hopefully that changes tomorrow,
  15. Mansfailed have become a bit of a bogey team for us in the last few years I really hope that this game will be a turning point and the see saw starts to tip the other way. I do think we stand a better chance since Evans departed. They have drawn two since he left so hopefully a bit of doubt is starting to creep into the players minds. Heart says win. Head says draw at best.
  16. My prediction: We will be winning 1-0, Noble will come on as sub in the second half and get sent off with ten minutes to go, Showumni will be replaced by Smith to try and preserve the lead, with our backs to the wall FG throw everything at us and we succumb to an injury time goal, two points lost, Twitter goes into meltdown, Noble becomes the new public enemy No.1 thus taking the heat off Collin for a while.
  17. Turner was our “Captain Fantastic” a real leader on the pitch who inspired all around him. I remember he used to take corners and as he put the ball down he used to get the crowd going by doing a winding motion with his arm, as if to say “come on pump up the volume”, a great player.
  18. Poor old Alan Hardy can't do right for doing wrong if he does nothing he is accused of lacking ambition if he goes for an expensive exciting flair player he is wasting money.
  19. The lads scored 18 goals, how on earth can he have haters, it beggars belief.
  20. I thought Jorge changed the game when he came on, hopefully his family problems are behind him, he’s back to his old self and ready to help us get back into the top three with his goals.
  21. I think the delay in releasing the ball must be an instruction from the management team or surely they would tell him to get rid ASAP. It must be really difficult to hear all the criticism especially when the team win with a clean sheet but I believe he’s best served keeping stum, you’ve got to have a thick skin sometimes if you are a footballer.
  22. No it wasn't a great match but 3 points were very welcome, we need to up our performance against Mansfield though because they are in good form at the moment and will be up for it. I wish the fans wouldn't be so quick to get on Collin's back, I really don't think it will help his game to hear the criticism at the match. I thought Jorge when he came on looked really back to something like his best, it seemed to give the whole team a lift.
  23. We didn't play well especially in the first 70 minutes of the match, I though Grant coming on changed the game, it seemed to spark the team into playing better, in the end a win is a win, at this stage of the season it doesn't matter so much about the performance but 3 points were vital and we got them. I hope this gives us a bit of confidence, the Mansfield game will be massive.
  24. Hi Chris I know I don't come on here much but this blog prompted me to want to reply, I hope you don't mind. Since my son died I have read a lot about depression and mental health and have come to the conclusion that a good therapy is to talk openly about it, as you have done before and are doing here. I don't profess to understand your feelings and anxieties because thankfully I don't suffer but I do think it is good to talk to family, friends and even publicly about how you are feeling, in that way people can give you support. My son had thousands of on line friends, hundreds of off line friends and a loving family but he didn't open up, if he had done things might be different. You've got lots of good friends and a wonderful family network who I know support you and are proud of all you do. If you are being harrassed by online friends, just block them or unfriend them, don't suffer it, don't engage with them they aren't worth the trouble. Sorry to go on but I just wanted to have my say, I hope it helps and I hope you don't mind me adding my thoughts. Take care, Tony.
