A year ago today we lost @GrannyPie who a lot of members will remember for her kindness and gentle reprimands, if she thought it needed she’d threaten to get her sticks out. ???? Our thoughts are with @super_ram @Chris and all the family today. I hope you can get through the day with peaceful thoughts and happy memories.

I didn’t go to the match but from the commentary Notts seemed to at least deserve a draw from a very good performance, there are a lot of positives to take from the match so let’s not be too downhearted. Keep the faith, onwards and upwards to the playoffs.

Well, the weekend is here again. Now as you regular readers will know Friday is curry night in the BigTone household, well we are breaking with tradition because my tummy is still a bit delicate from a Norovirus bug, so we’ve got a nice bit of braising steak which has been sitting in the slow cooker all day with some onions, we are having it with celeriac mash. If you want a healthy non fattening alternative to mash potato try celeriac it’s an ugly looking thing but tastes lovely, available from Morrisons. Tomorrow I’ll be listening to the match, I don’t feel fit enough yet for a park run so I’m giving that a miss. Not sure what’s happening on Sunday yet. So what are you up to this weekend? No it’s not a new player coming to Notts so don’t get excited. I’ve just been in the garden and at a quick count there are 8 frogs in our small pond. Anyone else seen signs of Spring?

We don’t have pancakes these days but when our boys lived with us poor Mrs. T would spend the evening in the kitchen making pancake after pancake for two ravenous boys and me of course. Orange juice and sugar, happy days. When our boys were young we went to France on holiday, our youngest Steve was very gregarious and made friends easily he made friends with a French boy and was invited for tea which was pancakes or crepes as they call them. There was a jug of fresh orange juice which was meant for drinking but Steve poured some on his pancake much to the horror of the French family, they must have thought the English were all mad.

Apologies for not doing this for a while what with holiday and illness I’ve been very lax. A bit later than normal but still time to get plenty of links posted. So for any new members the idea is we try to think of any links between Notts and Wrexham, whether it’s players, management, owners or tea ladies. I seem to remember a player with the nickname “Rooster” who played for us and Wrexham, can anyone jog my memory? How many more links can we find?

It’s starting to look a bit rosier after Tuesdays win so who knows?

Spot on @Chris Wrexham pose a formidable challenge at their own ground, it’ll be a tough ask to get a win or even a draw in front of their hostile crowd. I don’t foresee Maynard making any changes barring injuries, Notts did really well in their last game but Wrexham will be a whole new level of challenge, I don’t expect us to win, a draw would be fantastic but without sounding too negative I think we’ll put up a good performance but lose. I hope I’m wrong.

Thanks everyone, I think I’m finally on the mend, yesterday I ate a slice of toast and some chicken soup, the first solid food for 48 hours. I may have a little walk out today but not too far as I’m really weak. It’s good for losing weight (although I don’t recommend it) I’ve lost 10lbs since coming back off holiday. Mrs. T. Is fully back to good health now as well she had her bout before me, so hopefully we’ll get back to normal life again soon. I really don’t want to experience that again for a long time. Right, now I need to catch up on all the news, I hear we won a match. @DangerousSausage I hope you are over your flu, when you’re an old fogey like me you can get a jab, pity they don’t have jabs for Norovirus. ????

Despite being ill in bed I managed to listen to this in between throwing up, the result certainly made me feel much better. I’m so pleased for Maynard after some of the stick he’s received from so called “fans” on social media.
