  1. i would fear growing too quick, too soon could see us end up like blackpool, luton town, portsmouth and many other teams who had to focus less on sustinability. i would rather notts do it right, grow a reputation and sell on assets, make a real structure in place place that would more than likely see us establish ourselves properly upon each step. i am happy to see us grow for the better in league one, but i would not risk this for instance promotion to the championship.
  2. i would avoid selling players to maximise the budget, i dont think jodi jones would have much value in a transfer due to his age and injury issues. i think we only need to fix what we lose and add on to strengthen areas. another keeper, if kelle roos can be moved on. a centre back who is not injury prone and good enough for the first team, a winger, striker and the rest could be players that are looking to establish themselves . the trtained list may change my thoughts tho.
  3. i have booked the playoff final off, and will be driving down. i need to find out if lewis or thomas wants to come. i am just busy with work as per usual, nothing exciting or different. i am back at nottingham, working my usual job.
  4. happy birthday, gaffer. i hope you have a wonderful day with your family.
  5. its hell when we are over 12k and it does become uncomfortable the higher it gets. i love seeing meadow lane filled, but the ground was redesigned in the 90s and even then it was kept traditional. that is not a bad thing, there are loads of quirks and its what makes it a great stadium but everyone feels on top of each other when the kop is busy. toilets become far worse than they would be otherwise, you are lucky to be served at half time so you have to leave early to just get a drink without queuing for ages. even the use of cards only has not sped things up all that much. some people said the navi made a mistake by creating its fan venue, but the nest has showed that there is still the demand for fans to have somewhere to go before and after. this last saturday, there was huge amounts of fans just standing near the main gates, and lots walking around. again its a good thing, but if you dont time your entrance well, it is a swarm of hell.
  6. @Chris i cant post to the suggestions page it says "The suggestion could not be submitted. Please check the form and try again." it looks great and i love all the new changes.
  7. maybe in time it could return but the cost does seem to outweigh the point at the beginning, no doubt to put people off but i am sure people will support you in other means. i need to make more donations regularly, i am not against subscribing but you know my feelings on wanting to be a regular member that helps out.
  8. i listen to the general radio more than certain artsists, the last song i played was sad, sad, sad by the rolling stones. before that, probably something of r e m. @StarkMallard reminds me of a better eurovision song.
  9. and people are calling arsenal for scoring set pieces and from corners, they are one of the best teams to watch on their day. i find some clubs like man city to be boring.
  10. liampie updated their mood to Happy
  11. sad, sad, sad by the rolling stones. @Fan of Big Tone i used to hear this song a lot as the weekend approached when i was younger, my dad would be singing it and even the opening make me know that it is this song. i hope everyone is okay.
  12. its great to have you here @NCFCGuy, welcome to pon!
  13. good game that we could have put to rest in the first half, i think bristol rovers had a couple of good chances and james belshaw saved at least two. i think him being blamed for his feets position for their equaliser is unfair, because defensively the attack could have been handled better. they had been warning us a few times, and it really was like oh they have spotted they can get goal side here and they attacked in a similar way. teams do seem to be able to suss where we are weakest and exploit it. first half we bossed the game and made rovers look like a very average team, they showed more fight in the second but i still feel if we had two strikers and jatta had performed better that we may have stood a chance. i dont think matt dennis offers much right now, not sure why but him and jatta left me feeling disappointed in their effort. its not just them, but as the strikers they dont play like we know they can. attacking wise we need to be more direct on goal and shoot when chance comes, nick tsaroulla had a couple of efforts and is finding good form.
  14. @Fan of Big Tone i could see the temptation buy for a newish manager surely it makes more sense to stick with a club where things work, he knows what to expect and will be supported. burnley might offer him more money, buy the position is a high risk move. i really hope there is not much in it because we have a manager that is focused, knows the squad and makes most the right decisions in games.
  15. i think we need to keep ollie norburn off, because i can see chesterfield targeting him and its important we have 11 players. i would welcome back scott robertson if hes fit enough, hopefully include the skipper matt palmer and have the starting lineup able to switch to four at the back. i think if we go there and do well, it will help in the home tie but drawing might be the best outcome considering it means both teams will have to go for it.
  16. the former admin mark posted something very similar yesterday and leading into the final game on the facebook group. we need to be thankful and understand that the club is ambitious but we just need that extra bit to go further. win promotion this season, its going to be a tough time for some to see us require time to adapt to league one. we are thanks to the reedtz comfortable in league two but things can change. thats football and i just hope we can just give a good account of ourselves. afc wimbledon outplayed us in both legs, we did not look strong enough and that was bitterly disappointing. this time we have to try harder, even if it means we are out played by a team who deserves it more.
