Game 18 - The Bantams (H)
Team: Bradford City
Date: 18/11/2023
Where: Meadow Lane

What line-up should Luke Williams opt for? What will be the key areas for the Magpies to get a victory? What do you think the final score will be?

On Saturday we take on Bradford City in a televised match with an earlier kick off. How many links can we find between the two clubs.
I’ve got an unusual link to start us off, how about Colin Slater? He started his reporting career for Bradford City games before reporting on Notts County.
If that’s a bit tenuous I give you Mark Stallard who played 42 games for Bradford scoring 10 goals in 1996-97, he later had two spells at Notts becoming a firm favourite with the fans.
Over to you folks how many more links can we find?

I don’t know who chooses the songs for the build up during the match as the team are coming out the tunnel but Brainbug - Nightmare is excellent, it really builds up the tension especially in big games.
What do others think?

I’m under the weather at the moment, I reckon I’ve caught @super_ram’s bug, I knew I shouldn’t have talked to him on the forum. ????
Consequently I won’t be at the match tomorrow and will watch from my armchair on Sky Sports, so if you’re going give them a cheer for me.
Mrs. T is doing a chettinad chicken curry tonight, I hope to be able to eat it. Then on Sunday I’m taking her to City Hospital for more tests on her heart we are hoping the results will give us some answers as to what’s wrong.
Whats everyone else doing this weekend?

We don't usually include the FA Cup in the prediction league - however, to replace the postponed round 12, I've decided to include it this time. All the other rules are the same - kick-off is at 3pm on Saturday, remember your jokers and good luck!
Rotherham United v Queens Park Rangers
West Bromwich Albion v Hull City
Alfreton Town v Worthing
Doncaster Rovers v Accrington Stanley
Eastleigh v Boreham Wood
Exeter City v Wigan Athletic
Newport County v Oldham Athletic
Port Vale v Burton Albion

After that strange "cup" competition last week, I'm pleased to report that the Proper Leagues (and the National League too) are back in action. So it's the same routine: gaze into your crystal ball and predict the following scores by 3pm on Saturday. Remember your joker and good luck!
Coventry City v Stoke City
Southampton v West Bromwich Albion
Derby County v Barnsley
Wycombe Wanderers v Stevenage
AFC Wimbledon v Doncaster Rovers
Tranmere Rovers v Forest Green Rovers
AFC Fylde v York City
Altrincham v Southend United

Morning all, what plans do you have for the weekend?
Curry night tonight, not sure which delight Mrs. T will be conjuring up but it’s sure to be a nice one. I’ve got a Banana Bread beer to wash it down from Lidl not had it before maybe @super_ram has had it?
Tomorrow the park run is still partially flooded and they are doing a different route which means three laps of a smaller area, so I don’t think I’ll bother with that, three laps gets a bit boring, instead I’ll do a little run around our local streets then settle in to listen to Notts match on the radio.
Whats everyone else doing or been doing if you read this later.

Notts let their standards drop in the 2nd half. Bradford took advantage. Another 3 points is all that really matters so job done.
Disappointing 2nd half but what a first half they had. Crowley played a blinder.
Well, it was entertaining, you can’t argue you don’t get your money’s worth at Meadow Lane this season! I’ll get the second half out the way first because I don’t want to be too negative after a win, I’d have taken a 4-2 before kick off 100%!
Bradford had nothing to lose at 4-0 and came out with no pressure and a desire to put right their awful first half performance. But we didn’t react to it. We needed to be quicker on the ball and take fewer touches given Bradford were actually being pro-active and pressing us. We did such a terrific job first half it was a shame we struggled to adapt to the opposition’s changes in the second. Lessons to be learnt there. And one other minor gripe is the silly yellow cards we’re picking up, I think Baldwin will miss the next game now after needlessly kicking the ball away with 2 minutes to go and Adebayo got his custom yellow too. He must have the best yellow to minutes ratio in the league…
On the positive side that first half was probably the best I’ve seen this season. Bradford did what any team should do if they want a tough time against us and that’s sit back and just let us have the ball under no pressure. Some really great goals and Crowley was just so on it, his goal with the little drag back was fantastic. And given our mini injury crisis it was great to see Bostock, Randall, Morias, Brindley and Cameron all back. Gosling definitely looks like someone who hasn’t played for a while, but given time hopefully he’ll get up to speed. Back into the autos as well, all in all a pretty good day.
