Weโre eight games into the season and our team is sitting in a commendable 2nd place, just behind Gillingham. Itโs been a promising start, and with each game, itโs clear to see how the squad is growing and gelling together. However, we must keep in mind that Swindon Town still has a game in hand. If they win, we could potentially move down to third place. But letโs not forget - itโs still early days.
The season is long and there are plenty of games left to play. Despite this, I canโt help but feel optimistic about our chances this season. The team seems stronger and more cohesive with every match. Itโs exciting to think about what the rest of the season might hold for us.
How do you feel about our start to the season? Are you as hopeful as I am about our prospects?

The exceptional result of the match was a testament to Nottinghamโs vibrant performance, which was palpable through the radio coverage. Our supportersโ enthusiasm was clearly audible, adding to the excitement. The significance of this victory and the clean sheet cannot be understated, boosting our teamโs morale despite Gillingham reclaiming the top spot.
Reflecting on the previous season, the thrilling rivalry with Wrexham added an extra layer of anticipation to each match. As we look forward to the new season, we hope to replicate this intense competition with Gillingham, promising another season of nail-biting matches and unforgettable football moments.
This is the approach I would suggest Notts adopt for the majority of their away games, albeit with a slightly less conservative style while still maintaining control of the ball. In midfield, we possess the capability to retain possession and cause frustration for the opposing team. I was thoroughly impressed with Notts' performance, as they showcased some delightful passing sequences throughout the match.
Notts began the match with a strong attacking approach, displaying an impressive performance right from the start. Each player executed their role excellently, contributing to the team's overall success. It was particularly satisfying to witness our players emerge victorious in their individual battles, even in the face of Salford's height advantage. Had some of the early passing moves been successfully executed, I believe Salford could have been systematically dismantled and left thoroughly embarrassed.

So much better than Morias. Maybe worth a loan deal come January

Friday sees Notts returning to league action and facing Salford in an away game. What links can we find between the two clubs, how many players, managers etc., are linked?

It's time that Southgate had the bottle to distance Maguire from the England squad.ย
I get the loyalty as whenever he's selected to play for England he very rarely puts a foot wrong.ย
But, the media are always gonna be there to question his inclusion. He's out of favour at Man United and should have took the chance to move away from Old Trafford for West Ham to get his career back on track and get back to being the player we know he can be.
If a player isn't playing at club level, they shouldn't be selected anyway in my opinion.ย
I understand why Southgate has said this and is defending Maguire, as he's good at protecting his players. Although, having said that, he's constantly selecting Maguire despite not playing first team football at club level, his confidence is shot and of course pundits, fans and media are gonna jeer him and criticise him.ย
Southgate should stop putting him in the squad that gives these people ammunition to take Pops at him and leave him open to this sort of thing.ย
It's not like we don't have players to cover that position and do a job.ย
If anything he needs to be given time away from England for his own mental health. It may be beneficial to him to be away from the squad for a while till he can find his way back.ย
We all know how toxic the media can be, especially over here. Take Gazza for example and Beckham after the 98 World Cup.ย

I find this a very baffling decision. The fact that the game was abandoned in the 96th minute with Buxton on the verge of a 2-1 win and they have to play the full 90 all over again.ย
There'll be some proper kicking off if Scunthorpe go on to win the game and I wouldn't blame the fans or club for doing so if that'd be the case.
Surely there was a better solution than this?

The Notts team put on a poor display, appearing to be very disorganised and possibly assembled hastily. There was little cohesion among the players, despite showing promise individually. However, the lack of teamwork resulted in Notts suffering. It seemed that Junior Morias, in particular, struggled as a lone striker. As mentioned before, he often went missing during the game, and one could be forgiven for thinking he had been substituted.
All games, in my opinion, hold significant value as they provide me with valuable insights. I express my gratitude to everyone who has engaged in playing games alongside me. This information is crucial for someone like me who is living away from their home country. Therefore, I extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you.
