Macaulay Langstaff on Target in Notts County's Pre-Season Triumph

PON_News

Notts County striker Macaulay Langstaff scored a goal in the team's first pre-season friendly against Nuneaton Borough. The Magpies won the game 3-0, with Langstaff's goal being one of the highlights.

In an interview after the game, Langstaff expressed his satisfaction at getting on the scoresheet. "Yeah, of course. I think as a striker you always want to get on the scoresheet no matter what game it is, and to get to Mark early in preseason, obviously it's important for striker's confidence, so I'm not doing that," he said.

Langstaff's goal was a tap-in, set up by a brilliant play from his teammate on the right-hand side. "Obviously brilliant play the right-hand side and just across, across the box I have to be that type of thing," he said.

The striker also praised the link-up play between him and Dan Crowley in the first half. "I think you can see what we've been working on, the training going, you know, when it comes to get the ball and plays that one, two with Dan, it's impossible to mark," he said.

Langstaff went on to explain that this type of play is something the team has been working on in training. "Um, we've been working on that all week in training since we came back in. So it's good to see it on the pitch and, um, yeah, it's going to be harder to mark for opposition Defenders this year," he said.

This early success bodes well for Notts County as they continue their pre-season preparations. With Langstaff and Crowley already showing promising signs of chemistry on the pitch, fans will be eagerly anticipating what the team can achieve in the upcoming season.

the way notts plays, any striker will get chances and i think macaulay langstaff benefits from this but hes still a superb finisher. im glad we have managed to keep him so far.

What a guy! There is no doubt that he's a threat, even if he does score tap ins or takes someone else's goalscoring opportunity. That's what a striker does, they make sure his team scores. I thought he did well against an aggressive Nuneaton Borough.

With a player like Macaulay Langstaff on your side, you know there are goals to be had. I'm curious if Luke Williams plans to play two strikers either all the time or just occasionally. I think Langstaff will benefit greatly from the new signings such as Dan Crowley and David McGoldrick. Whether it's a tap-in or not, you have to have talent to convert goals - just look at Kairo Mitchell.

I hope he keeps finding the net like he did last season, there is no reason why he can't get double figures again this season in League Two.

We are so lucky to have Langstaff I’m surprised no one has come in for him, he’ll be a marked man in league 2 but if he can keep fit I expect a few goals from him.

It's clear that Langstaff's teamwork with Crowley is paying off big time. This is just what Notts County needed for the upcoming season!

This was a fantastic start to the pre-season for Notts County. Three goals, none conceded, and a striker in Langstaff already in scoring form. It's games like this that breed confidence within teams, and this should serve as a morale boost as they continue prepping for the new season. Stoke and Forest will be interesting games to see how the players cope and handle a real challenge.

It's incredibly encouraging to see Langstaff talking so optimistically after the win. His performance was indeed a highlight of the game, and his satisfaction is well warranted.

His statement about the team's training and tactics is the real takeaway here. It seems the team is well-coordinated and has a similar vision for their game plan. This pre-season triumph is a strong indication of how serious the players and the management are about doing well in the upcoming season.

Langstaff perfecting his goals early in the pre-season is sure to be a confidence booster for him and the rest of the team. Looking forward to seeing more from him.

Langstaff definitely has an instinctual knack for being in the right place at the right time during the games. He is, no doubt, an asset for us.

Encouraging indeed to see the boys already shining bright in the pre-season. It really bodes well for the regular season.

Macaulay Langstaff had a good run out; I thought the Nuneaton keeper pulled off some great saves. Finding the net early into pre-season can build confidence. A striker thrives on having chances, and I do feel that, with the way Luke Williams has Notts playing, a good striker will score, but an exceptional player will net a few. It’s been a while since we’ve had a player so natural at finishing.
