It didn’t seem like a very serious trial. I assumed he was either from the academy or training with us. Good luck to the lad in getting the game time needed to gain experience. He would be behind in the pecking order here.

I don’t even remember him, but I agree, it can’t be as serious with him never actually getting a minute of action.

It’s interesting to hear about Kian Johnson, the young keeper who left Doncaster Rovers and joined Dubai City FC in the UAE. It seems like he saw this as an opportunity to play professional football in one of the best places in the world. Although it’s not clear if he knew Luke Williams or if he was doing him a favour, it’s great to see young players taking chances and pursuing their dreams. I wish him all the best in his career.

I believe one of the youngsters we had was from our youth team, least that was what I were informed at the Nuneaton game. This might have been the other lad, but he didn't impress me with his warming up. The other small lad, seemed far more capable and looked like a good keeper.

i dont know if i remember him, i do remember the smaller lad that looked good. he warmed up with notts in the first home game of the season. i am unsure how to describe him with todays over pc, but he looked very good.

it was not this lad though, i remember another keeper looking shocking in the warmups at nuneaton though.

I don’t recall him either. He may have been overlooked since he didn’t feature in any of the main friendlies. I’m unsure about the Matlock or other matches, but I wouldn’t place too much importance on them given they predominantly feature youth players. It doesn’t provide an accurate representation of a young goalkeeper’s abilities. Besides, I doubt we had a need for him.

It’s a fascinating tale of how he was let go by Doncaster Rovers, had a loan stint with Notts, and ultimately signed a contract in Dubai. I don’t recall observing it, but I typically don’t pay much heed to the goalkeepers warming up. Nonetheless, it’s an intriguing little story.

Kian was the small keeper who warmed up with Stoney in the first friendly against Stoke, he was also the smaller of the two trialists at Nuneaton so I guess reading the comments from you guys you rated him 👍. He was at Derby last year & had a great 6 weeks at Notts in pre-season, played most  of the B team games and Wealy & Luke wanted him to hang around whilst they tried to sorted budgets etc (difficult with 3 keepers already on the books).....however in the meantime he got a great offer to go and play pro as first choice out in Dubai which was hard to turn down.

Great to see County up at the top end of the table, all the best for the rest of the season.
