I remember the Football Post very well, originally it was pink and a broadsheet rather than tabloid if I remember right, I would leave the ground after the match and by the time I’d walked into town the Football Post was on sale. Sorcery indeed.

I was there that day... in the home end!  The stands emptied after we scored (both times if I recall).  The first time nobody noticed that me, dad and mum hadn't moved, the second time we were well and truly spotted.  Luckily dad always looked about 70 so after a few insults they left us alone.  I have never felt so scared...even when I lost it in the home end at Birmingham City in 1989 / 90 when we scored a last minute winner wasn't as bad.  To be fair they saw the funny side of it,,, something the Chelsea fans could never have been accused of.

They were good times indeed, when everything was in black and white and shorts were like bikini bottoms!

Apologies if this photo is from the incorrect year or not the right style, but I vividly recall seeing much tighter ones in old football highlights. I reckon Liverpool had some where it seemed like their players could’ve done with a bit more breathing space. Those were the days, weren’t they? The fashion of football kits has certainly evolved over the years!
