Fans Forum 19th November 2024

Featured Replies

It's a shame that there wasn't a live-streaming of the fans' forum, but it does take away some of the pressures of hosting a forum. It just gives us content creators something more to play with, even if people do watch the video - which I am currently listening to.

Honestly, it shows how much out of the loop I am right now, and that's disappointing as I wasn't even aware of the fans' forum.

I have seen comments from people who missed it, who would have been a lot more in the loop, so it's not that bad, but I would like to have gone to the event. I'll report back with my further thoughts after digesting everything, but it's always good to see.

I also want to note before I post this comment, the club's urgency to address the fan concerns is a good way not to cloud the conversation. Yet to politely remind those who do throw flares that the EFL and FA won't like it.

  • Plans to introduce safe standing next season, with fan input shaping the design and implementation. Β
  • Recruitment strategy focused on impactful loan players and exploring new markets like Scandinavia and the Netherlands. Β
  • Training ground development faces challenges, but the partnership with the University of Nottingham offers exciting possibilities. Β
  • Club considering opening the Jimmy SirrelΒ Stand to home fans to ease congestion, depending on demand. Β
  • Accessibility upgrades planned, including handrails and improved facilities for fans with disabilities. Β

The Fans' Forum really highlighted how much thought the club is putting into balancing immediate needs with long-term development. Plans for safe standing and accessibility improvements at Meadow Lane are brilliant steps forward. Creating a better matchday experience isn’t just about comfort, it shows that the club cares about its fans and is determined to make the stadium a place where everyone feels welcome and part of the action. Β

It is also clear that the club understands the importance of investing in its infrastructure and recruitment. The partnership with the University of Nottingham could be a game-changer, particularly for the training facilities and equipment. Combining this with a smart recruitment strategy, which includes scouting international markets, shows that the club is building for future success. Developing the youth team further will also be key, there is so much potential in Nottingham that Notts County can harness if given the right tools. Β

Ultimately, these efforts are about positioning the club as a strong contender in League 2 while laying the foundation for bigger ambitions. A return to the Championship may feel like a distant dream now, but these improvements, both on and off the pitch, are exactly what is needed to make it a reality. Stability and progress go hand in hand, and it is exciting to see Notts County moving in the right direction. Β

I'm really excited about the plans for safe standing next season. Many fans have been advocating for this change, and it has the potential to significantly enhance the atmosphere at Meadow Lane. I trust the club will collaborate closely with supporters to ensure its proper implementation.Β

This initiative highlights the club's responsiveness to feedback, which is always a positive sign. It's heartening to see the club take steps that reflect the desires and suggestions of the fan base.

The overriding impression from the fans forum was the "professionalism" shining through. Joe Palmer having a shopping list of projects but having to prioritise which gets done first and being careful with managing the budget.

What also came across was the EFL2 financial environment where it gave the impression, a lot of teams were spending "big".. can only guess at the likes of MK Dons, Gillingham, Port Vale, Bradford. .maybe even the likes of Carlisle?

I hope that if Notts do get promoted, the Club will look to increase the capacity of the stadium as they get higher in the football pyramid.

The real difficulty is with the Jimmy Sirrel stand. It is built over the River Leen so the weight bearing nature means that the stand height cannot be easily increased.Β

The only way is for County Road to be diverted through the Cattle Market area to give Notts the extra land needed to support such expansion. A big win for a Notts supporter on Euro millions might help this week!

it would be good if the club continues to look at snapping up land around meadow lane, as increasing the way fans can get out after the games would be a good thing. the kop gets jammed. the times i have sat in the pavis, its much easier.

the fans forum has been a positive thing, i thought most of it was pretty standard but even then its promising.

even after all these years, it seems we are still determined to move forward as a club and we are not diverting from that.
