We played some great football under Mick both as Youth Coach, when he brought some great players through the system and later as manager when he took over from Neil Warnock.

Proud to be a Notts County Supporter for over 60 years.

My dad told me yesterday that he used to manage our reserve team and had been around for a long time at the club. It was interesting to hear at the game what Les Bradd and the other former player said about him. It's very sad, even more to know he suffered from dementia.

Mick Walker was appointed during difficult times, and I always felt he deserved more time. Notts never gave him a fair shot, and his departure was a bigger loss to the club than many realised. He was a great coach, highly respected, and for me, his sacking marked the point where the club began to slip backwards. The appointments that followed didn’t put the club in a better place.

Mick Walker brought qualities to the team similar to those of Jack Wheeler, and he should never have been sacked. His contribution to Notts County will always be remembered. May he rest in peace.

This is the game I remember when I think of Mick Walker.

My grandfather was greatly annoyed by the decision to sack Mick Walker; there weren't many times when I saw him so annoyed by a decision. From the club's perspective, which crossed into concern for him. I have always been told how Mick should have been given a longer spell, and I am aware of his work involved in securing success in the Anglo-Italian Cup. Those trips to Wembley are always things I cherish.

Rest in peace, Mick Walker. Thank you for everything you did for this great club.
