Forward, Lee Ndlovu to Notts

Featured Replies

Quoted from the Notts Website.

We have completed the signing of Barnet forward Lee Ndlovu.

The 31-year-old joins us for an undisclosed fee and signs an 18-month contract with the option of another year in the club’s favour.

Director of Football Richard Montague said: “Lee is a player we’ve admired for a long time and adds another dimension to what is already a very strong attack.

“He’s extremely powerful, a constant menace to defenders and someone who will create space for others in the attacking third.

“Lee has been a key player in what we consider to be a very strong Barnet team and we’re delighted to welcome him to Meadow Lane.”

I think this signing of Lee Ndlovu is an acquisition right up Martin Paterson's Street. He's strong & powerful & a menace to opposition defenders.

His physicality up front is something that Notts have lacked in recent seasons & I'm sure he's going to become a fans favourite.

I don't think that he has come to Notts to just sit on the bench. Lee will ensure that there is plenty of competition for a place upfront. I'm looking forward to seeing him play.

Hasn't scored many for Barnet. 9 in 40.

They just signed Tshamanga so I guess they wanted to move him on?

I feel the window has been good, 7 out of 10 and a cultured midfielder would make it 9 out of 10. Not sure I quite understand this one though?

Answers on a postcard please...

He was introduced at half time which came as a surprise to me because I hadn’t seen the news. I just hope he’s here to bolster the forward line and not as a replacement for either of the front two.

It's not a marquee signing, but one that could provide we have different game plans and allows us to rest players in matches leading up to the crunch part of the season.

I don't know what this takes us up to in terms of registered players, but personally, I'd like to see one more AM brought in.

Hmmm, interesting one - not the most exciting signing tbh. I can’t see the point of him signing to sit on the bench, so is Jatta on his way?

Dennis is a handful and occupies defenders, plus he scores (apart from today!). I don’t really see the benefit of this bloke tbh, unless we lose Jatta, but I may be wrong.

He offers us something different to both Dennis and Jatta, so I’m pretty pleased with this. There was no way we could've got to the end of the season relying solely on them either they'd have just completely burnt out.

From what I can gather from Barnet fans they say the team plays better when he’s in the side because he offers both a physical presence, mobility and can generally hold up and link play well. It’s just in terms of out and out goal scoring where he can struggle, but who knows maybe this will change for him here, sometimes strikers just work at some clubs.

He'll definitely have no issue with the physical side, he's was the forward who sent Baldwin to the floor in our play-off semi final and he could've scored another the second half. He was a real handful for our defence that day.

Yes I think he would be the ideal player to have when chasing a game. He is big and powerful and can out muscle defenders. We remember all too well the goal he scored against us for Boreham Wood in the play-off semi final!

Interesting signing, I also remember him from his Boreham Wood days but he's only scored three in League Two so far (although admittedly some of those appearances were as a substitute). According to Transfermarkt he's averaged 400 minutes per goal, but a goal or two will send that average tumbling down.

We needed another striker anyway as going into the run-in with just Jatta and Dennis would have been inviting trouble, and someone with a physical presence who can hold the ball up and play a bit sounds right up our street. Just hope he can up his scoring game while he's with us!

I doubt he's here to replace AJ, although that goal celebration was unusually subdued yesterday...

I thought that too with his celebration. If Jatta does go, it wouldn't be a suprise if we got another 10/9 hybrid. Jatta would, I think, justify a big fee. 800k or more to be precise.

i am not adding this to be negative but i thought straight away, here is the new junior morias. i hope lee ndilovu gets more of a chance but i dont see the arrival as a big fuss. yes, i would rather notts have a third striker because it costs us when we lose alassana jatta or matt dennis but i dont see how paying for a striker that does not have a good pedigree at professional level after allowing someone who seems quite similar to go for free after not playing them.

ndilovu looked a bit short for me and one of the floating reasons morias was suggested to be out of favour was due to that, some fans near where i sat suggested hes fast but morias was like lightening when he found his stride. morias and lewis knight are two of the fastest players i have ever seen.

tho i admit, pace and height means nothing when a players got a natural instinct of following the game and putting goals away. i would hope that our quality makes it easier, but his goal ratio hardly is impressive. we just have to hope we play him and he does do well for us. thats what i hope for, and i hope again we dont have another player who is wasted.

Ndlovu is one of those players who'll give his all every game. He's an upgrade on Traore. That's his role I think. I don't see Dennis or Jatta leaving.

Really like his interview with Adam Hassell. Says he will work hard for team and is happy to do the "dirty work." I think he will be a real asset. He may not score a hatful of goals, but will hold up play and create chances for others.

Agree @McPie . Just listened to his interview and he comes across very well. Very clear of his role and how he would fit in. An old fashioned Division 4 forward 🤔.
