Channel 5 have the rights to Saturday FL highlights which will be broadcast at 9pm. So long as Adrian Chiles & Andy bloody Townsend keep away from the show I'll watch. It'll be a 90 minute highlights show, so at least half a dozen ad breaks......

That's a more reasonable time, I can never stay awake for the one on BBC1.

Good news, but can we also steer clear of steve claridge

Repeating twice is nearly as bad as my kindles corrective text, but not quite!

Is it the end of the Football League show?

I know the show as representation of the FL, just unsure. Channel 5 tend to replicate popular shows either really well or extremely poor, the thing is, I don't get back until after 9pm so it's a little out of my schedule. I'd probably get in just as Notts finish knowing my luck but it might be different if I am driving!

Looking forward to it.

I hope they get proper representation of the football league in terms of host and pundits.

im not a fan of channel five, the version of top gear they have is cr@p, gadget show and all the lame bbc/itv copies are.

if this will be one of them style shows i dont know but i hope they go for something unique and different. i dont mind steve clariage, i just dont like that junior bloke. who would be good people for channel 5 to have as host and as pundits?

would it not be nice for them to change the pundits each week and rotate between ones who have covered quite a few clubs?

sorry @PTID1862 that would mean steve would come back.

I usually tape the Football League show because it's on so late but I find it hard to follow, the goals just seem to come thick and fast and they don't show much of the build up play.

I enjoy watching the longer highlights of the Championship games but the league one and two games are just literally the goals. I guess you can't show any longer highlights of every game in a hour and a half.

I agree @tonyhateley and they also ignore some controversial incidents.

I'm pleased about this because whenever it's just League 1 & 2 they don't bother with a show, yet when it's just the Championship teams playing they still do a show.

Will chanel 5 be any different? I think they will make it very gimmicky.

I dont like that channel, its a shame itv did not obtain them. i could put up with that

I am hoping for the best but a lot depends on who gets their hands on it.

Channel 5 have some decent shows, though some poorly take ideas and leave the channel feelings very gimmicky which I agree with @CliftonMagpie on.
