Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad

Best world beater tv programme in the past few years.

Breaking Bad seems to have a more male following after talking to a few people, but I love both of them.

Which do you prefer and why?

And if you haven seen either, then which rock have you been hiding under and get to the shop and buy them. ( That or download them immediately!!!)

Game of Thrones.

Both have great casts and storylines, yet one keeps you gripped even when it becomes dark and mood. Breaking Bad loses its way at times for me. Knights vs Crystal Meth makers, knights are cool and more badass!

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

I didn't think I would like breaking bad and although it took me a few episodes to get into, I did think it was well created. The actors/actresses did a brilliant job, though there was things I didn't like about (such as Walters Wife, Sister in-law and Walter Junior to a degree). The characters of the show play a major role in this decision (I am taking it seriously), so I would have to say Game of Thrones.

For the largest part I can over look the annoying characters because they have elements in the story which is naturally very gripping.

The example would Tyrion Lannister - I strongly disliked the character at the start but found myself liking him, feeling sorry for him and wanting him to overcome the obstacles he faced. This is one of the greatest elements of the show because Breaking Bad could never had made me like Walters Wife! Also I cheered like I would watching Notts win/score when Joffrey Baratheon was killed off.

I only similar thing I could say about Breaking Bad is when Walter died at the end, I found it upsetting and quite emotional.

Oh wait, yeah... I laughed and cheered when Gustavo "Gus" Fring was killed off.

Still, Game of Thrones wins hands down.

Neither... and I haven't got a clue what you are on about

Do you actually get tv signals out in 't yonder @PTID1862:)

These are probably the two biggest tv shows in the past 10 years and have millions of fans World Wide. Both superb in their own way and both gripping.

Try to get hold of them if you can because you won't be disappointed! :hyper:  :hyper:

I haven't seen Game of Thrones yet, but I'd like to give it a try. Is it something you have to watch from series one like Breaking Bad, or can you just dip into it?

I recently watched Breaking Bad from beginning to end, and it's the best thing I've ever seen on TV, pure quality.

The sheer tension at the end of series four was amazing, and I laughed out loud when Gus walked out of that room after the bomb had gone off. It took a while to get going again after that, but the climax starting with Hank finding out about Water's sideline makes it worth it.

Walter's wife is played superbly, but along with his son is probably the least rounded character - the point of them is to show the effect Walter's decisions have on the people around him and how it puts them in an absolutely impossible position. But Jesse, Hank, Gus, the man in the wheelchair with the bell and most of the (other) baddies are just brilliant.

Are they like Corrie? or Eastenders?

On a serious note, I will have to get the wife to go and give the bin lid a tweak.... that is how you get a signal... right?

Fortunately not like a soap opera. TV actually worth watching!

Just like Corrie, except with more crystal meth, drug lords, murders and stuff.

@DangerousSausage - I find Walter's Wife to be extremely annoying, however the actress does that superbly. I used to watch '#TalkingBad' before the third season came along and the director said it was important that the Wife got under peoples 'skin' as it lead to people sympathizing with Walter and his quest to care for his family.

I can't wait for 'Better Call Saul'.

That makes sense, they were very skilful to keep the viewer rooting for Water no matter what he does. Possibly not good career advice though.

Glad to see only @PTID1862 is the philistine (big word init!!) regarding major drama. The only drama he gets is when he finds out he has 8 ft of snow rather than 6. That or when his Tomas the tank engine train set breaks down!

Game of Thrones is epic, enjoyed visiting some of the locations in Malta last year. Nothing like it, or close I think Marco Polo tried (and failed) although very good.

Breaking Bad also very good but completely different to GOT so can see why it splits opinions.

Don't think I could choose if had to pick one so I'll say Orange is the new black (for another thread).

I haven't watched Game of thrones but i have heard alot about it. I have seen Breaking bad though... so i'd say breaking bad myself.
