For me:

Gary Johnson, Mark Yates (the right sort of experience)

Sean O'Driscoll, Nigel Adkins, Neil Warnock (unlikely any of them will come)

Steve Burr (best available gamble)

Not - Ferguson (either), anyone unfamiliar with 3rd division, 4th division or conference management, Paul Cox, Pressley, Di Canio

No chance anyway!

Whilst Steve Burr might be a good football manager his morals are akin to Keith Curle, just ask Kidderminster fans why he got sacked

A shortlist of possibilities I wouldn't mind having:Sean

AdkinsUwe RosslerA long shot but he did wonders at our levelGus Poyet and yes I have wanted him before

They'd be my favourites too. Quite like Chris Wilder too - strong willed, disciplinarian, good motivator and produces sides that are difficult to beat but can score goals.

Adkins has to be the best, by a million miles, but I doubt we could afford him.

By the sounds of it we are going to get another dud like D Wilson et al

Adkins is the best of the bunch. Not sure about Danny Wilson. Could be a total flop or might be a grafting team.

Danny Wilson is hanging onto his past like a copper holds onto an offender, his recent record has been cack, there surely has to be better managers than him out there.

Also lets hope we don't get Ian Holloway

Mark Warburton would be a really good appointment, he's leaving Brentford at the end of the season so can't see why he couldn't leave early

any faces at the lane today?

If the new manager fails to keep us up will he be sacked?? Genuinely interested in what people think would happen in those circumstances

A thought just popped into my head, knowing that RT likes to throw curve balls when it comes to management appointments are we looking at the wrong gender? If so is the initials of HP the new manageress of Notts County??

I took Skybet Nigel Adkins at 40-1 for a fiver.

Checked Rosler coming in fast so took the £20 free bet I got for registering on Uwe at 8's.

Either way good return.

Lets hope Uwe R or Nigel are announced soon!!!

Both good managers and both good returns for moi!

Ray Trew is most likely to appoint Aileen Trew, then sack her when she fails to save us from relegation.

Someone actually said to me in the MLSB that we should be brave and take on the first women manager, only for someone in his 60's to respond 'It's a man's game'. I probably shot him a right look. LOL

For me appointing a woman would be a very brave decision, whether right or wrong I wouldn't like to comment, we need a manager that is going to be given more than 10 games to implement their style etc before the whispering starts with agents and available managers..........

Is Derek Adams in the running? He did a fantastic job with Ross County, maybe another Scottish maestro of management just like someone we all know

Sorry only just seen that you quoted my post, that might make dinner a tad frosty..... ha ha

I'm really not sure, but we do need someone who has the experience and can do the job for longer. We have changed managers way too much recently.

Ricardo Moniz???

Was hoping fo someone who know the leagues well who could wheel and deal. With the greatest respect to Ricardo (who I've never heard of!) does he really know L1 and L2???

Ricardo Moniz jumps to top of one bookmaker's list to replace Shaun Derry at Notts County

Ricardo Moniz has become one bookmaker's favourite to replace Shaun Derry as manager of Notts County.

Sky Bet had installed the former Tottenham coach as 6/4 favourite as the race to to become the club's new boss took another plot twist.

Moniz was nowhere near the bookies' list of favourites to replace Derry on Friday, but suddenly found himself top this afternoon suggesting serious money had been placed on the 50-year-old.

The Dutchman last coached TSV 1860 München having been appointed in June last year before leaving in September after just eight games.

But he has coached numerous other European clubs in his career and enjoyed particular success with Red Bull Salzburg becoming the first manager in Austrian history to win a league and cup double.

His win percentage ratio at Salzburg was an impressive 59 per cent, but left the club in 2012 because of "internal differences".

Moniz also spent time at Ferencvaros, one of the top clubs in Hungary, where he won 34 out of 61 games.

He worked with Martin Jol at Tottenham in the Premier League from 2005 to 2008 and later joined Jol at Hamburg.

Moniz, who was born in Rotterdam, also played for RKC Waalwijk, HFC Haarlem, Helmond Sport and FC Eindhoven in the Netherlands.

You can also get short odds still on Darren Ferguson, son of Sir Alex and former Peterborough boss, along with Uwe Rosler and Danny Wilson.

Did well in Austria because he had far more cash than anyone else. I hope this is just a rumour.

Ricardo Moniz sounds like another huge gamble if he gets the job. Definitely something going on behind the scenes!!
