As the title says, what have you learned from football?

I will sum it up by saying, since moving here, I now know what having cash is like. I see several sports here for the price of 1 Notts ticket. Morale of the story? I've learned it was expensive even in the 90's.

Football is more than a sport, its more than rivalry and its about togetherness, including good and bad times.

I've learned that it can make you extremely happy one minute and the extremely sad the next.

That is true. I can see the local team here who are one down from the Bundesliga, so the equivalent of the Championship I would guess.

I can see them 3 times, which includes public transport, for the price of 1 match ticket to Notts.

That it is easy to ruin a good product (football) with incompetence, corruption, greed, selfishness etc.

I've learned it brings people together no matter what peoples backgrounds are, it allows people to look past things which in day to day life people may not do.

Football has been an invaluable education for me. I've learned that lots of people in Nottingham have a broken wheelbarrow, that this city is ours, when you need a dump you should always do it on the r*d side of the Trent, and that people from Mansfield's fathers are their brothers and their sisters are their mothers.

Football brings people together and separates them at the same time.
