Would anyone welcome players unknown? We always go for has beens or players who live off a moment of glory (much like Lita) but I for one would like to sensible signings. Players who grow with us!

What type if players do you hope for? Would a bunch of unknowns put you off?

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

I think we need a wide mix of players, however if Moniz took the approach to sign unproven players I wouldn't be against it. I think over the past few seasons our focus has been on players who won't be able commit in terms longer than a season or so. That makes rebuilding extremely hard, as it just repeats and for that reason I hope we sign players based on what they can contribute towards in the long run.

Seriously we should go down the route of signing promising talent between the ages of 20-24 and then mix them in with experience and players with pace, it would be lovely to avoid 30+ players unless they're of the silk of Gary Jones.

A real vision to move us forward and other clubs have been successful in the market by doing this.

A field where dreams become reality.

1 or 2 would be fine, we signed some unknowns last season who seemed decent (aka traore).

Agreed, if they are quality it does not matter but we should not rely solely on unknown players.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

It's difficult really, and I guess it's why not everyone can just go and be a successful manager.

  • Unknown Players - A gamble, could be unknown for a reason or could be unknown but requiring the right management
  • Experienced Players - After so many years of football, is their heart still in it? Even if their heart is in it, are their legs?
  • Up-and-coming Players - Their price tag generally represents how good they are expected to be, and these are the players that every club will be looking to sign. Saying that, they don't always live up to their potential.

In reality, I'd argue that it's about picking players the manager can get the most out of. Whether this is down the man management skills of the manager, or even just the attitude of the players, it's just so very important. Remember to triumph that was raised when we signed Haynes, yet we weren't able to get the most out of him.

Going back to the questions, I'd agree with @notts-joe, in that we need a mixture, hoping that Moniz can work his magic, and get them playing freely but also as a team.
