Love locks

Featured Replies

Thousands of love locks are being taken off a bridge in Paris because it is in danger of collapsing.

Apparently you put a padlock on a bridge and throw the key into the river to symbolise your undying love. I'd not heard of this craze until very recently, have you heard of it? Have you ever done it?

It was reported like 20x times after I returned home last night, I always wondered why the Embankment bridges had locks on. I thought it was pretty stupid without knowing but now, I think it's got some romantic value but people shouldn't expect them to remain on a bridge forever. If they do, they should build their own ;)

Bless, a pad lock when I were younger was best used for locking my bike up. If I knew back then about this, I would have locked the wife up to the nearest bridge.

Scrap metal merchants would have the locks in seconds if it happened commonly in the UK.

It does, I have seen it on the bridges near the Embankment but it isn't that bad there and the scrap part wouldn't surprise me if that's why it isn't appearing more common.

Wad on this bridge in Paris. It was a sight to behold. Not only on the bridge but along the sides near the bridge as well. I was wondering when they would be taken down given the weight. I think they left the ones along the sides alone? Not certain though.
