Having had a good look at our first five league fixtures, I honestly see WWWWW

What do we think?

Mansfield will be a test for us, they have prepared and built a decent squad.

i think we probably should not get ahead of ourselves, most are winnable before the arrivals but we need not be complacent.

The reason I ask... Sky bet Notts as 2/1 to be in the top 7 come 1st September.... I actually think we will be darn close to 100% at that point.....

William Hill kindly gave me 20/1, just in case... tick the Ea way box

I mentioned to @Joe Jones when we recorded the PONcast which included the opening fixtures, all the games listed we should aim to win and that I could see it happening but the thing about football, it doesn't always work out like that.

Steady now, we're not the only club in this division splashing the cash and aiming for promotion. And we've signed a lot of players who are unproven in this country, for all we know many could well struggle to settle and flop.

So, in the view of my now dampened expectations, I think we'll win six of the first five.

I think we'll romp it, but the issue will be that old phrase 'needs time to gel.'

this is why the friendlies are vital this year as we are basically starting with a new team!

15 points & 10 goals please

As things stand there is a good chance we will be able to repeat the last championship winning season, however in much more style. If we started off the new campaign by defeating all the opening games, this will have a massive effect on Notts and the community.

I think there is a good chance we could get over 100 points.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

We will probably draw at least two of the first five, provided we do not lose that would not be bad going at all.

If we can beat Mansfield, it could be a good bet but I do think one of the four opening games we will end up losing. Not down to playing poorly, just a case of luck going against us.
