Bournemouth V Notts County

Will be making the hour or so journey to Dean Court for my final Notts game of the season tommorow. Have to say, realistically I'm expecting us to lose and not really cuase Bournemouth too many problems, but hoping to have a laugh, have a bit of a sing-song and generally just have an enjoyable day out. Determined to make the most of my last Notts game of the season :)

Then again you never know in football do you? Remember Notts County v Bury last season? Bury had nothing to play for, Notts had everything to gain but Bury came and turned us over 4-2. The tables are turned tommorow and we'll be playing the role of Bury if you like. Who knows?

I just hope we go for it. We're not going to get relegated but we're not going to win anything so what's the harm in just going for it? Not only is there no point in us going there for a point, but it's not entertaining and we'll probably get a beating if we do it. Against Brentford we proved we could cause one of the promotion challengers problems for the last 20 minutes and had chances to take a draw.

Anyone else coming down? Come say hello if you see me :)

Originally I had hoped to make the game, it's a little too expensive for me to consider the cost. Make sure you do make the most of it mate, hopefully next season I can buy you a drink for all your help here.

It's possibly time to give Hollis more of a chance. Chris said at the fans forum they need to deserve it, I feel he does and although the run of games may have tired him out, the only way to adjust to match fitness is to play. I wouldn't suggest playing anyone for the sake of it but any of the current crop who are training well surely deserve to be given a chance. The lads need to gamble on taking chances, if we get the right movement and forward runs who knows. A early goal can go along way, so if we don't sit and park the bus as people say maybe.

I see it as being a draw myself, if not 3 points for Bournemouth.

Would like to see the lads giving it everything to win this match COYP #playforpride

Another difficult one for you Notts fans. Sorry but only see a draw at best but hope I'm wrong.

Don't worry about it, I think most fans will think this and some secretly will probably think we're in for a thrashing. Sadly :(

handball!!!!! why do we get poor refs, its a joke but proud of the lads. hughes and leacock, bart too

It sounds like we are playing better, the first goal (Ritchie) deflated us but the handball seems to have done far more damage. I hope we have words after if it becomes clear it was, if this is the case then the Ref should be fined. I'm all for understanding pressure, mistakes and so on but blatantly using the hand, well the Football League should make an example.

Players get booked for protesting when the ref doesn't want to know, the people who ruin games often enough are those who rule them.

Frustrating but I hope we come out sharper, the pressure needs to come off greatly and we need to pass around more freely. Colin pointing out the lack of free-kicks, David Phillips the ref should be made to answer a fans forum. LOL

Oh well

The ref has destroyed this game. We started off well with a good goal then it went downhill with poor decisions and bookings by the Ref. Can't believe Boucard has been sent off. Clear handball which the officials ignored!

First time I have used the chat room function, I am impressed Joe. I think given the time it will be a nice way for us to get to know each other a little better, so I will try. Does it work with mobiles? If so I will try when I am at games. The referee, well goes to sum our season up. Poor all year round, the FA/Football League should get together and work at briging people up. You could forgive the handball in hindsight, the inconsistency is alarming. I hope the lads are given a good sending off, deserve many fans clapping them because they have shown more of themselves.

3-1 we can only pick ourselves up but we have had chances. hope weymouth and any others will let us know their thoughts, fls will be on later.

Credit to the lads for trying in the 2nd half. Bournemouth were the better team. The pitch was in great condition and suitable for passing football. We played too much negative football across the back and not pushing forward. Tempest looks promising for the future. It would have been interesting to see the result if the ref hadnt been so poor. Arquin walked off at the end and was ordered to come over to the fans!!

bloody Yeovil beat us. not happy at all

heard you guys lost, sounded like they  dominated  you from what i hear but i guess 10 men does that. sorry guys, next time?

That's great, the gap between fans and players should be broken. The players should come over and clap as they leave to the support, hopefully it will be returned even when we do play iffy. I think scenes like that can bring us closer, though any negative comments should be said constructively. I'm sure some would do it if they didn't hear 'your f****** s**t'.

Sorry mate, yes we lost too. Maybe, hopefully you can pull some results in time for the end of the season. :)

Jinx.. Yes, I don't know them well enough to comment.

Think we will have to show we can play on our pitch, will be there myself.

I really don't like blaming referees for results but my god, today's ref was the worst I've seen all season at any level. Every 50/50 challenge the Bournemouth players would drop to the ground and get a free-kick. There wasa blatant handball in the build up to their second goal, Boucaud's secnd yellow card was barely even a foul, he missed numerous offsides, had very little control of the game and couldnt count ten yards at free-kicks.

For once, from the kick off we put the ball forwards and what happened? 2 minutes in Jeff Hughes headed us into the lead! For the first 5 minutes Bournemouth simply couldnt settle but gradually they did and began causing us problems. About 15 minutes after our goal they equalised when Matt Richie fired past Bart from the edge of the area.

Then they were 2-1 up thans to Brett Pitman with another powerful shot.

In the second half we actually still caused the hosts problems despite being a man light, but Bournemouth (as expected) had a lot more of the ball and put plenty of balls into the box. Luckily the defence was still holding out but come the end of the game they were knackered and Bournemouth killed the game on the counter.

As I said, we had our chances - most notably a JCR free kick which was tipped over by their keeper.

Ultimatly though we fell up short yet again. Have to say I didnt really expect anything from this game. Still had an enjoyable day out and a good sing :)

Sad that it's my last Notts game of the season. I'd love to be able to go week in week out like some fans do but ofcourse, that's impossible at the minute. Who knows in the future eh?

Unlucky Notts, worked hard today but were always up against it.

I'll leave it to the expert but Joe Jones is a little under the weather today mate, I don't mind you asking. Keep your eyes peeled, though I think Joe should probably rest and will possibly be a case of tomorrow. Don't worry :)

Yes Thank You James, I also had my eyes out for someone who attended but I think Muddy secretly attended ;)

I normally listed to the radio and/or visit the chat room on this excellent site when Notts are away but missed this game as I was out all day. Hearing things from various quarters it sounds as if the ref had a terrible game and Notts played reasonably well.

I haven't seen it, going to watch now on the Iplayer but Super Ram agrees, if this is the case it must have been the case. I'll try and work some magic and show here if I can do so :)

A good report by Weymouth. I blame lack of Internet and poor mobile reception for my short messages during my secret visit (Joe)!! ;)

Notts need to treat away supporters like Bournemouth did! Stick them in a corner, make them use portaloos and put a barrier up to block access to the toilets below the stand!! We did get an ice cream van and food bar in place of the missing stand!! I always enjoy the away games despite results. It is disappointing when travelling along way (its not a cheap day out) to have it spoilt by incompetent officials.
