Daily thread - Tuesday 28th July

This is an experiment that works really well on another forum I am involved with. Each day someone put in the daily thread with date etc. everyone adds to the post with a little snippet of their day. It doesn't have to be too personal or anything just a brief word about what you are planning or what you've done.

If it's going to work it needs people to contribute, at the end of each day the post needs to be locked by a mod and the next day a new daily post started. Anyone can start the daily thread.

Today I am taking my grandson to his swimming lesson, he's doing really well, he's mastered the back stroke and yesterday he was going under water for rubber rings, something which he would never do in the past.

What have you got planned or been up to, please join in.

I have a note from me mam... and Miss has said I can be excused... folks, just read me blog!

No one is excused @PTID1862 we only want a snippet not a whole blooming essay.

I got up this morning, opened the window and it felt like autumn. We have had no Summer in Ireland yet. It's either cold or wet or both. It actually gets people down. Hopefully August will be better, I don't do well in the heat but even I'm hoping for some sunshine to cheer people up.

Stadium tour! This pm I'm taking the kids to meet @notts-joe then we are off on the bench stadium tour with Les Bradd. Should be cracking and a good chance to get reacquainted with the lane after a few months off.

Today i will Β be finishing off the stripping of old wallpaper in my front room, just the odd bits to come off now. Big help from my lovely daughter yesterday. Bless her.Β

Working, then have to go for a big shop with the wife as she's going on holiday for 10 days without me.

Got to feed myself, do me own washing and iron me clothes! OUTRAGE!! I've asked for a temp replacement but that request got denied.Β

Just got back from swimming lesson and the teacher says George may be ready to move up a group, this means he'll be in the big pool, he's so excited - a big step for a six year old!

I am going on the stadium tour, I really hope @super_pie enjoys it because I don't think anyone really understands just how much he helps Notts. Despite last season somewhat killing his passion (not the relegation) - He helps me with no end and for a 9 year-old this is quite special. Last season he was ever so excited and sadly we never managed to do it. He really wanted to do the 'I'm on the bench video', which obviously this year they don't do but I think Les Bradd will make Jake see the real Notts County.

This is a far healthier place than NCM! (See other thread)

Today I will be mostly at work - but bowling in Newark this evening!

I'm pleased to see you back, I won't go OTT but I enjoy your views @Pies4u.

I'll be taking my camera bud, so if you are comfortable with it (as I don't want to upset Ben) - I will capture any moments you would like. I am hoping I can take a few of the tunnel (don't ask).

I don't like it when it's too hot either but the weather we're experiencing at the moment is nothing like summer.

I'm just watching TV and playing games on my phone and looking forward to @super_ramsΒ  roast dinner later.

Got lots of work today doing charter work. In-between my pick ups I'm mainly going to be on PON, FB & Twitter.

Got to get some things figured out for the new car we are getting in a couple a weeks.

Hey. @drpisey3 you can take some of our 37oC and 87 % humidity :( if you'd like.

I hate heat........

I don't know why but I always imagine Canada to be cold and very snowy, is it really 37 degrees @Canadian?

Don't envy you. We had 39 deg the other week and it stuck in that mid-high 30 range for a good week and a half. I looked forward to going to work to get a break from it.Β

We had our Tesco delivery this morning,so I had all the goodies to put away. We've just eaten the dinner that @GrannyPie was looking forward to.

An ideal way for you to drop in some teasers for your excellent Sunday Blog @PTID1862

Lol, we're the coldest capital in the world

(or one of), and yes we have a heat advisory from Environment Canada.

Normally It's manageable but the odd day it'll creep up on you.

I suppose it depends where you are in Canada.Look at the difference in temperatures in our little old island at times.

Done a bit of decorating shopping in Ilkeston this morning, after lunch went for a trip to Toys R Us and @super_ram will like this one, had a wander round the Derby County shop, with my daughter and grandchildren. Son-in-Laws birthday coming up, and new Derby shirts on sale.Β

The kids have gone home, it's been a busy day and the boys are exhausting, we are relaxing in front of the telly. Mrs H is multi talented she can knit and watch telly at the same time.
