On this subject i have to say no he has had  half a season to sort out the players he brought in he did a full over turn of players and surly by this point they should have learned to play the Ricardo way. Other managers have had less time and less money than him. I think its time he went and we made way for a manager who can get results cause if we get relegated thetas it none league football for the oldest football club is just not exceptable in my view.

@[member="cotton13"] he's new to L2 and half his players are as well, are you expecting instant results or something? If you have to blame anyone for a poor start I think I'd blame Kevan, for not advising Moniz enough about L2, and Yates for clearly being unable to coach the defence. You can't expect it to work straight away and honestly most games we've been very unlucky not to score many.

I don't believe he is the right man, never have done. His lack of knowledge of the lower leagues is clear to see. Plus his team selections and tactics are rather odd most the time! To sign flair players who need time on the ball to perform was a big mistake. They can play well against teams in the Championship but not against teams that are in their faces all the time.

However having said he's not the man for the job I also have no idea who is

I still believe Moniz can do the business for us, he has made mistakes but I believe he is learning and will come good.

We have certainly seen some of the most entertaining football for years at Meadow Lane.

hold on I don't buy this crap he's new to league two etc etc and the players we have Izale McLeod spent half of his career in league two as a goal machine.

These players should understand this league they have played English football long enough if we was in championship we could take a risk appointing a foreign manager.

But we can't take a risk when we are above the conference Brentford tried the continental approach and it backfired fast. but there lucky there in championship so it's not a massive risk.

And as for Kevan do you see moniz ever making a effort to cominicate with him?

We have a good squad a big one two I was saying to my dad the other day most lower league managers would love this job the squads there the budgets there why are we not higher up ?

I think it's not a season for expirementing it's a season for trying to get out once you get stuck in this league there ain't any way you're going to get out quick .

You have to ask yourself the question half way thro November and we sit 15th we have hardly won away at all is it acceptable for wages and money spent ?

Ask yourself those questions and be reasonable and reality I think it's not acceptable at all I don't care about how good the football is.

I'd rather play shit every week and win then play tip tap tip tap pass pass pass and not win.

look at Plymouth when they beat us first goal route 1 turn shoot no great goal but effective

But how long is it going to take him to learn ?

would you be willing to wait til January if December we are say 16-17th could his willingness to learn cost us that's a factor you have to look at

Last Friday was a disgrace. End of. Players should have donated their wages to charity or refunded the travelling fans their ticket prices back again.

That said, I think he still needs longer. The recruitment has been a shambles in my opinion. For a change we were promised quality over quantity, but unfortunately it didn't turn out like that, bar a few exceptions such as Stanley and Snjeders. Recruitment is the biggest problem because we have a squad of players who aren't good enough imo.

When Alan Smith and Edwards are the first names on the sheet then there is a big issue.

Hopefully he will get a settled 11 and that will help, but I think he needs a CB to replace Edwards or to partner Edwards and move Sheenan to LB. Move Stanley to holding Mid and introduce Thompson or Milsom into the mix with Noble. Get the two wingers in the game again.

Release Jenner. Waste of wages. He must be on pay as you play, hence the silly subs he keeps getting.

Sort it our Ricardo. I had £20 on us going up this season!!!

As for Mcleod, I think he has lots of goals in him, but needs two good wingers to provide the service. Age old argument, no service hardly any goals.

Curtis Thompson is far better then smith offers everything pace energy and bite

McKenzie should be fit soon big lad good build and decent pace Snidjers class winger direct quick and can cross.

Jenner is deffo on a apperences fee and it makes me wonder if moniz plays him does he get a cut cause it's strange

bloody hell look at that league table Jesus Christ on level points with CRAWLEY 😂😂😂 and 3 points off 19th Ricardo is the man for the job isn't he maybe he is the man for the job to take us out of the league.

Absolutely shocking I can see us struggling against Northamphton Saturday to

only time will tell, it is for ricardo prove hes the right person and not for me.

There's no dispute that Ricardo is still learning League Two, he's experienced a totally different type of football and the reason Dave Kevan came back, was to be Moniz knowledge and support.

I really wonder what would happen if Moniz had arrived with someone he knew.

Regardless, my personal view is that he's good enough - the question is will things settle enough to allow us to move forward? I think disruptions and negativity may take its toll eventually but I hope he makes the whole season as our manager.

He's staying. We're not in a relegation battle yet, but things need to improve.

I have faith he'll be here till the end of the season.

Bout time, we held fire for a change.

The answer to the OP's question is, "No".

Moniz is more likely to get us relegated then promoted IMO. He has shown no ability to produce consistency or to positively change tactics or influence the outcome of a game. Relying on old men and young hopefuls is not really a proven formula for success.

I suspect that the next 4 or 5 games will determine if we are to spend the rest of the season staving off the drop or clawing our way into the top half.

well were 6 points off the play offs lose this Saturday an they all win 9 points and the gap will get bigger cause after Northamphton we have 2 away games so that's 0 points there's only so long you can hold on for.

Posted

But what happens if we win these next 2 games?

Posted

then were level with the play offs depending if the top 6 all win but even then we have two away games and again if the top 6 pick up point and we don't.

You get the picture clear then so it can swing either way
