In support of Stanley

Featured Replies

Didn't Moniz allude toΒ Aborah, like most gifted people, being an awkward so and so?

If he is, and if that is the reason for his exclusion then surely someone needs to help JF realise that different cultures have different personalities.

If like @Super_Danny_AllsoppΒ says then he should be back in the squad at the very least on Saturday.

At least I was comforted in the Wheelers Suite when i saw the team sheet that Stanley was on the bench. That soon evaporated at half time when i realised he wasnt there at all. Maybe the injury in the warm up for MacKenzie altered Jamie's thinking completely?Β

Now to the crux of the matter. This performance today against Orient lacked ZERO creativity. What I now learn, from reading elsewhere, Stanley talked to supporters to say Jamie doesn't like him nor likes his style of play. Well that's the last straw. Today was crying out for a more creative midfield... this was paint drying rubbish which was dished up again for the home supporters.Β

If Jamie thinks Stanley is not good enough.... he is having a laugh. Never for many a year have I been so angry for such disrespectful treatment of a player. Stanley is the best player since Alan Judge, we should be building a team around him. As a season ticket holder, I will not frequent Wheelers Suite again because I want to see creative players not statues as we had today.Β

#Stanley In #Jamie out, sorry @NewNottsFan Confidence in his ability has evaporated through his actions

The whole situation is a mess. The owners genuinely believed that going against 99% of fans wishes was the 'best fit for the club'.

Fans want experience, sick of managerial merry go round and experimenting = Sack manager, appoint new experiment.
Fans favourite player = drop him, not even on the bench.
Fans feeling disconnected = appoint someone who comes across as arrogant and call the fans scum.
Fans dislike arrogant Director of Football/Chief Scout/Usurper Rodwell = appoint Branston.
Another fans favouriteΒ = release him, signed by rival, scores.
Fans enjoying attacking football at home = Negative tactics.

How much longer will this go on?!

@erindoorsΒ Firstly despite everything I still whole heartedly support the Trews. Honest decisions are being made in the best interests of the club. Yes, IΒ am a huge Stanley Aborah fan, but when we see a player who cannot get into the squad today, left on the sidelines, when 99 per cent of the supporters would have him as one of the first names on the team sheet, I feel it is disrespectful as to how he is being treated.

I feel now even more down this evening, than that of the Salford F A Cup exit. It's just that all "hope" has just evaporated. It is a professional sport, and maybe I thought the Wimbledon game was a one off. Well, there was no sign of it working today for Notts and not a hint of changing it from the bench in good time. My full 49 years of supporting completes in March (in March 67 was my very first match) but i will not be there to spend my money in the Wheelers Suite.

I have never been so bored by the last 2 home performances. I didnt want to see Ricardo leave but accepted the reasons for it. The lack of creativity or even acknowledgement by the managerΒ that something is wrong, I cannot ever accept.Β

I love Notts but today, I feel ashamed that Jamie's team was "Not in my name" in terms of performance and the values for which I expect Notts to stand for

Β

Good evening

I was the first person who spoke to Stanley after the game, he kindly posed for a photo for my son and I did speak to him.

Let him and the club battle it out. Yet I think we would see much of a difference if we tried to include him, I said to JJ before bumping into him - 'we won't win at home until Stanley Aborah returns to midfield' we are just lifeless without him. He offers drive to go forward, much of which sadly Alan Smith doesn't. Alan Smith was very poor from a defensive point of view but he tried.

@notts-joeΒ Good comments from you. My biggest fear is that Jamie has obviously made up his mind about Stanley, and Jamie is too dictatorial to accept that he is wrong. We need Stanley's quality and that is what us punters will pay good money to see. I feel cheated today, never felt at such a low ebb after today's non performance. I still wish and sincerely hope the Trews succeed in getting Notts moving upwards. However, I feel for the "economic effect" of today's game will affect future match revenues with disenfranchised supporters not returning to pay good money to see such garbage.

@Piethagoram Jamie needs to accept that certain players can help, perhaps if he allowed them do what they 'know' they can do - rather than expecting players to play his way/style. It's a bit of give and take, anyone half interested in football will know you have to listen.

Several fans have made good comments about him refusing to make changes because he's stubborn etc.

If true, it will result in only one thing and if he holds any desire to be successful - he will have to reflect on his decisions. I will say, I do feel it's harsh to blame JF, he needs an assistant (very important) and he only applied for the position. He needs time to correct things, he's learning whilst on the job (just like Derry) and he will make mistakes. Many of which might not be repeated twice, yet the same could be said about Moniz.

Just attached the above to show people I'm not a clown that makes things up.

Yet I do believe Stanley is the type of player the majority in this division would envy us to have within their own team.

The real question is - what in God's name is a Wileyfox Swift when it's at 'ome?

Something from the future ;)

I now fear Stanley will leave us due to Fullerton not liking him, he cares and wants to play for us and he's outstanding but if the manager doesn't like him we can't do anything, unless the fans chant for Stanley at every game I can't see it changing

@ohstanleyaborah Derry did well to 'gut' his County of unwanted players, people hard to manage or control.

Yet, some of which really made me say "one day, he will have to learn to work alongside these people". I think the same can be said and applied to Jamie Fullarton, which I believe if he don't re-evaluate he will leave. I will say he did seem disappointed and eager to play for this club, not many British players with his talents would have this respectful approach to the game.

I also don't believe he's here for money, not remotely.

well, let's hope for some sensible "clear the air" and head bashing together. Hoping Stanley can be at Stanley come Tuesday for a win.

@Northants Pie... you may well have a point in that Stanley could be difficult to manage.Β

edit... I realise that we cant keep sacking managers, so am prepared to give Jamie time to sort things out..but there has to be more openess and togetherness to succeed, we all want Notts to achieve COYP

But that is what a 'manager' is paid to do...

The thing is though, how many players have been difficult to manage over the years? Lee Hughes has to be the biggest one the that springs to mind and even Charlie McParland could get the best out of him, the only one who didn't him also bored us to death at home.

People have been talking about if Cooper or Sheridan had the same record as Fullarton we as fans wouldn't be so angry, the people saying that surely cannot believe for one second that either of the aforementioned would have dropped Stan nor played hoofball nor only had one shot on target in 120 mins of football nor sat back lettingΒ their own ego get in the way of making substitutions

@Northants PieΒ I have just listened to Jamie's interview on Magpie Player....

My thoughts:

1. "Best team to win the game over 90 minutes"... I would counter to say best team not to lose the game over 90 minutes

2. ..consideration to use of subs.... Β  One can only think his bench is not considered good enough, hence he doesnt use the subs

3..playing Noble out wide...... Jamie hints that he likes the Curtis / Smith combination in the centre? Β I am sorry Jamie, but you are very wrong there

4. An opportunity to say some words on the Stanley situation.... Nothing to allay fears over a departure?

In other words the puppet masters have yet to inform their puppet of their views so to allay any punishment from said masters he comes out with the same deluded bollocks that is always going to further the divide between fans and manager.

The only one thing he knows for definite is that one puppet master didn't sign Aborah and therefore wants him gone so he can at least confirm the rumours, albiet in a backward fashion without the fear of reprisalΒ

@liampieΒ More like "Lost in translation".. Media team beefing up a non story.... where a lot of supporters probably and correctly thought, it was purely an incentivised contract and the number of games Stanley played triggered a season long extension.

best player by a mile skill full beats people easily good passes but our new system is hoof it hoof it hoof it .

Sorry but this bloke ain't a manager and if people think it's in the fans best intrest to give him the job the intrest seems to be relegationΒ

actually, it triggered an option.

Hopefully Aborah hasn't shut the door on a return ... Notts still pay his wages and he's a professional after all. A lot of folk saying the manager doesn't 'like' him. Personally I don't buy that ... A new manager uses the quality and supportive/hard working players at his disposal .. Particularly in the first few weeks .. Aborah looks like he has the quality ....

It'll most likely one 'shut the door' on the other, and the other reciprocated that feeling.

Now, whether it was Aborah or the manager first, is anyones guess. I too, would feel slightly aggrieved when you going from having a fantastic season and being the best player in your team, to not even being able to make the bench.Β
