I think it has to be Germany, England beat them but when it comes to international tournaments, Germany thrive. I think France and Spain have an outside chance but I'd put my money on Germany

It's wide open, I don'tΒ see any outstanding team. I didn't see the match yesterday, but Germany haven't convinced me since the World Cup, they haven't really replaced Schweinsteiger, Lahm and Klose and lack a bit of leadership on the pitch. As for the rest, France shouldn't be underestimated as hosts and Spain might do well again. Poland could go far as well.

I put down England out of hope and blind optimism. But the last 2 games have given me a little bit of encouragement. Perhaps Kane, Vardy & Deli can prove to be too much for other teams.Β

Then again I was excited about Brazil, no need to comment on that.Β

Italy are my ultimate favourites. Slipping by the radar and producing some tantalizing footballΒ

Italy stand little chance IMO.

They need to re-group and play more of their budding stars, rather than what England do and go for reputation. I think France have a good case to mount a realistic challenge, a side which has mixed depth and less expectations as compared to the team I also voted for, which is Spain. Really, it's difficult to say because I think this year some underdogs like Northern Ireland/Wales could re-write a new chapter in the history of international football.

My outside bet would be Austria, I think a couple of their future stars will shine.

It's just a case of will they as a 'team'?

Tough one and I don't think anyone will have a trueΒ idea untilΒ after the group stages, but if forced IΒ will go for France as I think home advantage could be just that.

Not sure if it's issues my end but the poll wanted me to vote for one team from both of the voting sections?

Anyway I've picked France. Not only are they the hosts, but with what happened in November last year in Paris, including outside the Stade de France, the team will want to pay tribute to the lives lost and unite the nation as they did in 1998 and 2000 - and as a psychological advantage, that can spur teams on by a considerable margin.

Plus, the team at the moment is probably the best collection of players since the late 90s-early 00s. Les Bleus went through the motions between 2002 and 2012 (their 2006 final appearance was despite the problems) with the shoots of recovery emerging in 2014, but now just look at some of the players at their disposal:

Goalkeepers: Benoit Costil (Rennes), Hugo Lloris (Tottenham), Steve Mandanda (Marseille)

Defenders: Lucas Digne (Roma), Patrice Evra (Juventus), Christophe Jallet (Lyon), Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal), Eliaquim Mangala (Manchester City), Jeremy Mathieu (Barcelona), Bacary Sagna (Manchester City), Raphael Varane (Real Madrid)

Midfielders: Yohan Cabaye (Crystal Palace), Lassana Diarra (Marseille), N'Golo Kante (Leicester), Blaise Matuidi (Paris Saint-Germain), Paul Pogba (Juventus), Moussa Sissoko (Newcastle)

Forwards: Kingsley Coman (Bayern Munich), Andre-Pierre Gignac (Tigres), Olivier Giroud (Arsenal), Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid), Anthony Martial (Manchester United), Dimitri Payet (West Ham)

The defence might not be the strongest (though Varane is class), but with Lloris in goal, he is bound to make a big difference at the back. N'Golo Kante and Paul Pogba in midfield is frankly frightening - a modern-day Makelele/Gattuso and Zidane/Pirlo - and that attacking front line is also dangerous.

For a wild punt, I have a gut feeling about Hungary. If they make it through their group stage, the comparisons between them and the Magical Magyars of the 1940s-50s will start cropping up and I can see them possibly springing up a surprise. And not to mention that every small team will have the Leicester City story in their minds... who knows? I'll stick a fiver on them, plus a couple extra quid on Albania and Austria, to at least reach the semis.
