Time to stop blaming the manager, the players are totally to blame for this debacle which sums up our season, don't like to say it but the majority are showing no pride in wearing the famous shirt and need shipping out of the club, massive job for Mark Cooper but we have got to be ruthless if we are going to move forward, fair play to Mansfield  they have taken the piss out of us this season.

I have no problem admitting it, Mansfield are a vastly superior football club to Notts. Well deserved win today. I'll leave it at that for now.

Just watched his interview, very honest and says the players aren't good enough. Wants to be here next season and ship a load of them out.

Fire in the belly , desire , ability , a mental strength , all sadly lacking , and I was thinking things were looking a little brighter on the pitch , that was awful , take a look in the mirror all you players , my goodness this insipid season can't end quick enough

I don't blame Mark Cooper, I can't.

I accept to a degree it's the players responsibility to perform to an acceptable level, which today wasn't and again they have let us down. Losing 5-0 in a local derby is something you should PRIDE yourself not to happen but for me it sums up the season. Mansfield capitalized on a poor Notts, from the sounds of it - they played well for their goals and overall deserved it. The game summed up the 2015/16 season, it's one which is over and thankfully we are safe.

There's a lot of tidying Cooper or whoever is the manager for next season must do.

The buck stops at the mess and turmoil of this season, including the appointment of Fullarton but the players have capped off what has been a very negative and difficult season.

We were poor today, I don't blame cooper at all, we played some decent football before their second goal but we refused to shoot and that's down to the players passing on the responsibility to someone else, we were just poor today

Again blunt honesty from MC , well said not good enough , in performance or attitude, back in for training tomorrow , don't care how much training a good manager can put them through they are maybe as good as they can be , bring in as many kids as is possible , get them some experience see what they can do .

Sorry but Cooper takes the blame with the players.

It was not acceptable, 2-0 down Cooper should have done more but the majority of the blame, like 70% falls onto the players shoulders. Its games like this which notts must do better in.

i do not blame anyone for the result, we was just outclassed again and nothing we could do about that.

the players do need to think about their performance but really once they scored the second goal we was doomed. izale and some others really need to start giving more tho.

@liampie agree we were outclassed , this is the story of the season , why are these players so poor , same questions asked throughout the whole term, just not a good team , so many go missing in a game don't seem to take responsibility for there own performance , where the hell is the pride ???? I couldn't perform as consistently bad at work and expect to keep my job .

The majority of the players should just f.. off, should pick 11 from the stone island crew, at least they have some fight in them!

I disagree entirely, and that's what hurts the most - we weren't outclassed at all, we were simply outfought.  I'd say there was a lot we could do about that.  I can take being beaten by a side with better quality than us, but not by a side that just wanted it more than us.  Twice this season we've given Mansfield the points without doing much to make them earn them.

I thought Mansfield looked more organized myself and played the better football over 90 minutes, I may be wrong. Fluky 5 goals, that is it!

@liampie don't blame anyone? Elliott Hewitt, what did he do all game? Because it sure wasn't football.. Feel sorry for Loachy because he's conceded 5 and it's not really his fault if other players had actually stepped up. I don't demand a team that wins every game, I just want to see players play for the shirt and try to win a game of football. So back to the point the players who didn't step up and fight against an average Mansfield side is where the blame lies in my eyes..

I suspect Cooper will reign things in and get a positive response, just as he did after Portsmouth.

The thing some people seem to be forgetting, Mansfield's season isn't over - they've enjoyed a league victory over us already and the game was played on their home soil. Combined this with the fact we have been woeful largely all season, we secured safety in our last game - in-effect the season is over for us. This doesn't justify our season, however it explains why Mansfield will be fired up for the game - a lot more than us.

The fact that they scored early just gave them momentum, so nobody should blame Cooper - he tried to adjust things and making substitutions early could have resulted in players not finding a way into the match which could have been even more negative.

See how the next couple of games go, I am sure whoever comes in as manager (I hope Cooper remains) will sort things.

He was given a tough job but seems like he wants to take up the challenge, Fullerton had a chance to bring in his own players but Cooper doesn't have that opportunity, he tried to change it on Saturday but it didn't work, I think the line up will be very different in Barnet!

why do some always pick out certain players rather than the whole teams performance?

Posted

I am sure Cooper will accept some of the blame but it does fall onto the players, games like last Saturday is enough to motivate yourself but it would seem the players dont realise just how much we was up for it. That is the biggest disappointment for me, I did feel we would be able to win but again the players bottled it.

Would it have made a difference if more than 3 had been here for more than 2 or 3 seasons? Players that know what Notts County represents?

@liampie yes, its the whole team not just one player but Hewitt has been poor.

i just think some of the reactions sum up notts, we win two and suddenly all is fixed but now we got thrashed in the local derby game. people go back to the rubbish notts attitude, sack the players, its your fault, lets be idiots. not everyone! just more than i think it should be.
