Just got back from the unveiling ceremony, the statue is everything I hoped it would be, a superb permanent reminder of when we were actually good!   The likeness to Jack in particular is uncanny.  A nice short ceremony hosted by Colin Slater in glorious sunshine.  Here's a link for anyone who couldn't be there:

My lad (10 years old), he's been so excited about the project and I wished he had of been able to attend.

Lisa, Andy, Jimmy and all the committee have done a great job.

The statue looks great!

Does anyone know where the names are going to be? On the bottom? Proud that my name will be on there.

If you look at the pic in post 3, I think the names are on the two plaques you see on the left side of the base.  There are more of these at the back, and presumably round the other side.  It's lots of names on these large plaques rather than a small plaque with an individual name on.  I had to leave before they took the barriers down so maybe someone else will confirm this.

Yes it is many names on different plaques, there's over 1400 names in total (well that's what red radio said)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure they got Jimmy's plaque wrong! It says he led us to 3 promotions from the 'third division to the first' now without me googling it, I'm sure Sirrel got us promoted from the fourth division at one point ? Because from the third to first is only 2 promotions ?

OK so I just googled it since I was not around when sirrel was so naturally I'm not always 100% on my facts, but in his first or second season with us, the great man won division 4 and then division 3 shortly after making us a division 2 side, sirrel then came back to stop us being relegated from division 2 and took us up to division 1.

My point is, I already knew bits about the past but if I can look at Google and find out that much in a few minutes, why can't we get the plaque on our only statue right ? I also read that they misspelt someone's name after paying good money to have it on there

Why doesn't it say that on the plaque!

This is awesome, thanks for sharing @Elite_pie! Brian Kilcline is surprising slender-looking for a professional arm wrestler.

The statue looks brilliant, can't wait to see it for real. I like the matchday pose too.

It was before my time too @ohstanleyaborah, but Jimmy won two promotions in his first three seasons and finished the job afer returning from the Blunts (he designed their badge too by the way). It's a bit of pain if some of the information is wrong, but plaques can be replaced easily enough.
