This is an inexcusable dereliction of duty from Ray Trew. Players don't know whether they have to train on Monday!!

Are Ray Trew and Branston trying to get the club into the Conference - it looks like it to me?

Notts have little or no future under RT. The club is toxic.

Before any mention of a new manager , the future control of the club needs resolving , is the club being sold ?

Am I the only one who doesn't believe a word coming out of the club at present?

Club statement...

Notts County Football Club can confirm that Mark Cooper has left his position as Manager following today’s match against Carlisle United.

Despite the club’s best efforts to retain him, Cooper served written notice under his short term agreement on Friday and informed the club that he does not wish to sign an extended contract.

Whilst a points target was agreed to trigger the deal on enhanced terms, Cooper has decided to move on regardless of that points total being reached.

Everyone at the club is hugely disappointed that the Manager has taken this decision, but nevertheless would like to thank him for his hard work during his short tenure.

It is understood that Cooper has received an offer from another club whilst still being contracted to Notts County.  No contact or official approach for Cooper’s services has been received by the club.

Notts will begin the search for a new Manager next week and a further announcement will be made in due course.  The club will delay announcing their retain list in light of this unexpected development.

Bemusing honestly, to say after he leaves 'we offered him a contract, sorry but say it before and convince him to stay.

I hope we get another experienced manager, one the fans like us can relate too and respect. Where do we go from here?

Well that's crap. Forest Green probably emphasised that he was really wanted there and would be given the resources to succeed. What's on offer at Notts? A notoriously trigger-happy owner who wants out, a short-term contract and the prospect of a takeover and possibly the dole if the new owners don't want him. I didn't think he'd drop a division but it just brings it home how unappealing a prospect we are right now.

I am really fed up now. Although his record was modest at best, Mark Cooper was the only person at the club who gave me a little bit of hope for next season. Now what?

The year is 2058. In the wake of the devastating nuclear holocaust, Nottingham's sole survivor crawls out of the smouldering wreckage of his bunker. His clothes are in tatters, his body covered with agonising burns. Deleriously, he faces the sunlight and then collapses with exhaustion. He sees a human shape looming above him.

No, he wasn't the only survivor after all. For the last time, he hears another human voice.

"It could all have been different mate - if only we'd brought Charlie McParland back..."

I said when I posted forest green were intrested he would go and I was correct.

As soon as we kicked off I knew he'd gone he wasn't even in his area he was out the way lettin Dryden do it.

Second half he was just waiting to leave do I belive the club statement HELL NOOO

The trews are both liars end of I'm sick of there lies first they had the club statement abroah wanted to leave that was lies.

Then we had Fullarton was sacked due to the fans etc etc our fault.

Now they apparently offerd cooper a deal who was telling people on the way out he hadn't even spoke or met Ray at all.

There just liars I'm not paying 310 pounds until I know who's managin us what players are leaving or coming in if Branstons deciding get lost not payin full stop.

But I'm sick of the lies there are no buyers at all and as for this crap of a new intrested party now in the race.

That was just a plan/tactic used by the trews to try take the negative reaction of cooper leaving they knew they was never going to offer him a contract.

say what you all want the trews are liars and are destroying us slowly and I'm not putting up with there c***

And finally on my essay of ranting who in the god damn right Mind would allow Guy branston to be interviewing the players to sort the retain list are they blind look at what he has brought in .

What buisness do they run a recruitment one Jesus Christ God help us next season were down odds on it

Who writes this rubbish? Just thinking about season ticket renewal, yes I want to support Notts but at the minute it would be like putting cash on the fire.

Statement appears to contradict what Cooper says himself by all accounts. He is reported as saying that he has had no contact with RT since he has been at the club.

That statement can only come from 1 person, and it reeks of her to be honest. It's complete bulls**t aswell, but we all know that.

I overheard some fans talking about Cooper as if he's turned his back on us, he hasn't.

He was an experienced manager offered a contract that should have been given to the man who departed before hand. I said this at the time, but I felt it may be a good incentive to get the best out of Cooper - yet only if it meant extending it manually if the signs are good and the points target looked unlikely. Now the club say he reached his total but walked a way regardless, the NEP say he didn't.

During the interviews before the final game, he mentioned he wasn't sure if he would reach the points target. I know fans who was quite vocal on social media, that received 'He needs to reach the points target'. So, it's very confusing.

I'll just add that I do trust Mark Cooper, I don't see why he would lie or run off to a lower division club that may or not have a better budget. He doesn't seem the type of person to care about that, yet he does seem like someone who respects a professional approach and this 'Ray didn't speak to me', just seems a shame and a bit negative towards someone who played no part in the downward turn of our Chairman's decision to sell the club.

Rovers were led out by interim manager Scott Bartlett but the sight of incoming boss Mark Cooper given the half-time team talk on the BT Sport cameras led to some doubt as to who was really in charge.

And defeat will inevitably lead to question marks over whether the announcement of Cooper's appointment before the promotion final unnecessarily muddied the waters.

The only reason I'm pleased for Grimsby is because hopefully Hurst stays with them and doesn't come to us!
