FAREWELL TO THE GREATEST MOHAMMAD ALI

Featured Replies

Not just his boxing, he was a conscientious objector to the Vietnam War at a time when it was unpopular to be so. He inspired African Americans at a time when they faced a struggle for their civil rights. Easily the greatest boxer of all time.

Very sad news, myself and @Joe Jones spoke of him yesterday - I didn't know he had been hospitalized. :(

R.I.P to the worlds greatest entertainer Muhammad Ali.

A field where dreams become reality.

I don't think anybody can dispute the use of legend in Ali's case, he was quite simply the greatest sportsman ever and captured my imagination as a young child watching him on the TV. My dad hated sport, but even he would watch Ali's fights, he was the ultimate showman.

RIP greatest, thank you for the memories.

He was an inspiration in many ways. When he rose to fame, black people were still widely viewed as second-class citizens in the US.

Many of the politicians queueing up with their tributes now wouldn't have been as glowing when he refused to go to Vietnam!
