Definitely, Loach is a much better shot stopper than Collin in my opinion. The thing I always thought let Loach down was that he was too quiet, but I suppose anybody would be compared to Roy. Collin is very similar to Loach in that respect and I struggle to see what he is better than Loach at. Collin does not position himself well and was very slow to close down the angle for their second goal on Saturday.

Give Scott a chance, but he needs a run of several games as he has hardly played a game all season.

Definitely give Loach a run of games , but don't start the chopping and changing game , both need a good run of games to build confidence and to come through any bad run , the team isn't inspiring confidence defensively at all so maybe a change could help .

We need to see what Loach can do within this squad, otherwise why have him?

The defending for the first goal was very poor, however, Collin didn't need to drop to his knees and that a very poor judgement call. If he hadn't (I don't understand why he did) he would have saved the goal easily. Its weird though - if it was Roy Carroll I'm sure some would be far more vocal but ultimate we haven't seen many good things from our current number one. I don't blame him but I do think it's time to see if Loach can take the opportunity to help improve things.

Ironically I thought Saturday was Collin's best game. He had more control of his area and was unlucky for both goals. The problem for Notts is we don't need a shot stopper. We need a goal keeper. Think back to when we signed Russell Hourly, sure, Pilks was the better shot stopper but Holy was the better keeper, that's what we need right now and Loach is not a commanding keeper in the mould of Hoult

Hopefully we will see Loach given a chance, at the very least it might prompt Collin to be more vocal.

I actually wished we had Roy Carroll watching last Saturday's game, as organization from the keeper would be a massive benefit but this really just part of the problem (not the whole solution). The midfield needs major work, surely we have players who want to retain the ball?

I agree @MelikepieLoach isn't a commanding keeper, but he does the same things that Collin does, with the benefit of being a better shot stopper. At the end of the day, they are both prone to drop clangers and neither are a patch on Roy, or Bart.

@notts-joehas it spot on that it is the midfield that really needs the work as they are leaving the back four far too exposed. The only way I can see around this is by getting an extra man in the middle of the park as two just isn't enough and we will have to employ a new formation as 442 will not work with the personnel we have.

how does he keep getting selected? it really makes me wonder what loach and others do to be frozen out.

he simply has not been good enough. he is just an average keeper, nothing special. loach has a bit more quality about him. time to give the side a bit of a chance, play loach, give the midfield a shake up. make sure we have a ball winner, a creative midfielder and two wingers who are prepared to use more than their fist gear.
