I don't want us to sign him, nobody really knows his quality but the majority do know about his 'bad habits'. Do some fans really want promotion that much that they would forget about core values and the risk of further complications? Will Kevn Nolan 'straighten him out'? He's doing a fantastic job with the straight arrow Jonathan Forte already.

Plus he's got Liam Noble giving us 100%, very worthwhile chasing him all season because we are much better now he's available aren't we?

Seriously, Ranger is the prime example of pinning hopes on one player. I doubt many if any fans want him purely on his footballing contributions - so why ignore that Ranger is a clown now?

The worlds going crazy if Ranger is the answer to our problems upfront.

A field where dreams become reality.

Apart from the principle of giving yet another chance to a complete wrong'un who's spurned all his chances so far in his career - from Newcastle United and England youth player to being sacked by Southend bloody United - he's also not going to be match fit and is bound to be a disruptive influence on the dressing room. I'd rather Stallard comes out of retirement, or Lee Hughes!

Been ruled out by the chairman apparently, which probably means we'll have him for this weekends game!  Personally, I don't want him and I question as to how much he would offer us as a striker as he isn't what you call prolific.

We are only talking about him because the club was completely inept at finding a striker during the summer and January (apart from a young injury prone gamble) and that will be the main reason as to why we won't get promoted.

I wonder how different the opinions would be if he had the Lee Hughes quality in front of goal with all the NR baggage ?

There's no doubting he's a talented player, had his career followed a more orthodox trajectory and his off-the-field issues hadn't sidelined him he would probably still be in the Premier League, or least the Championship right now. It's why he's kept getting chances; but if that talent isn't harnessed, then you're just left with a liability - and that's what Ranger has eventually become to every club he's been at.
