You can’t beat going to the arcades

Even now at 33 I love the arcades .. from the 2p slider to the arcade shoot em ups to the driving games I love them all could spend hours in them. I love playing deal or no deal the horses VR the grown up stuff.

But I remember as a kid I loved the 2p ox’s machine and the sweet grabber and the wrestling game @Chris will know what this game is ? (Help) and iss pro I would go on holiday with my grandad and parents and £2 would keep me happy for hours I remember @Chris‘s grandad ran a awesome arcade in Nottingham it was always busy fantastic place.

Do we have any people who like the arcades at the seaside or at home do you remember from your child hood any games you would play for hours.?

When I lived in the UK I used to go Skegness and Blackpool a fair bit.

The arcades there are much different than over here, though the US has those prize for tickets machines and the common arcader types games rather than penny pushers. 10 cents yes, cents machines no.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

Loved goin to Blackpool and Skeggy arcades they were fantastic not the same now adays. We have a arcade place called  game zone with tickets like America you buy points on a card.

I love Skegness for the family value but I miss the actual platformer games and stuff like that.

2p pushers are great fun.

The actual fruit machines are something I like, however most are very badly rigged these days and you need to know what signs to look out for when playing them. I don't mind spending a £1 for entertainment but when the same ones don't do anything, I just lose interest in them. I like the Star Wars machines because you can still win even when the machine is set to not pay out.

It's all about the combo's and knowing how the reel works.

A field where dreams become reality.

Does anyone else go round looking to see if there’s any money fell down from the 2p tipping point games, or is it just me?

We took the grandchildren to Skeggy recently and I gave them a fiver each and they got rid of it in about an hour on the 2p tipping point games, they had fun though.

iremember from my childhood the game where you put a penny in (an old penny) pulled a lever with your thumb and a metal ball spins round and if your lucky it falls in a slot with a number and you win that number if pennies back, you got your prize by turning a wheel and the money dropped out.

Another was rolling a penny down a chute and you had to get it between two lines that were rolling round, again a number denoted the amount you won, if it rolled on the line you got nothing.

We’ve got the log cabin with the hot tub booked at SKEGBY this October again so have been saving the shrapnel for a while now for the kids. Problem is we save all the bloody 2ps then normally forget to pack them and end up getting change at the arcades when we get there!

Kids and wife love them ( not sure which is worse or more addicted, the wife or the kids!) I’ll sneak off and spend a little more than 2p in the real, slots in the over 18 machines for the real jackpots!

Abigail is a real burger for checking every machine for the random falling 2p’s though. We can’t leave until she’s done a full inspection!

For a short time arcades are fine.

I would get bored if it was the only thing to do because they are expensive and it's no longer like it used to be.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

Exactly mate when I was a kid ???????? I feel old now £2/£3 got you a lot of game time .. they are definitely not how they was mate

As a kid i only ever went on one holiday that had arcades, the majority of the time it was go to the beach all day(which we try to repeat with our kids now but jakes not so pleased) and playing on the caravan site(which most sites now don't allow. In the evenings we used to go to kids clubs and have a meal out.. that was about it from what i remember. As i got older we went abroad but spent the day on the beach or in the pool, never an arcade in sight.

I don't mind going on the odd machine now, but not much.
