Fitzsimons 7.5 Joint Motm Fantastic save at the end to preserve the 3 points. Well protected and produced the saves when needed

Tootle 6 More assured though still not getting into attacking positions as he was last season

Turley 6 Does what it says on the tin. Dont take chances if there is danger

Ward 6 Positions himself well, reads the game well and is alert to danger

Evina 6 Always uses the ball well, defensive duties without too much worry

Hewitt 6 winning midfield headers and cover tackling back. Still passing has a lot to be desired

Brisley 3 Looking lost in the role he was asked to do. Surprised he wasn't subbed at half time

Boldewijn 6 Always look the only live wire at times, nice penalty won but was initially from his own mistake... Defensive duties on a par with Stanley ...not strong enough at times

Alessandra 6 Looking far more settled, but still always checks. Had a good chance to shoot but bottled it

Stead 7.5 Joint Motm with Fitz... Proves that you need a tall striker in this division...what was Nolan thinking? Nicely taken penalty when keeper expected the ball to his left

Hemmings 5.5 missed a sitter...works hard but lacks the clinical finish in front of goal

If you learn something from every game, there shall come a point in time, when you should never lose... Jimmy Sirrel

Fitzsimons - 6/10 - Most basic saves but he looks revived and he did make one classy save that looked destined for the back of his net.

Tootle - 4/10 - Not at the races and contributed too much towards giving Macclesfield the ball.

Turley - 6.5/10 - Good no nonsense defending, nothing flash but he dealt well with the threats.

Ward - 5/10 - He seemed a little lost at times, he did okay but for his experience it didn't show today.

Evina - 6/10 - Good defensively and attacking, he looked lively and chased the ball to win it back.

Hewitt - 5/10 - Pretty average and nothing bad about that but he offered very little going forward in my opinion.

Brisley - 4/10 - He should have been subbed sooner, I don't think he deserved to start and he played like a lost lamb.

Boldewijn - 7/10 - Good going forward, chased everything and tried his best with limited support. He looked by far the liveliest player on the pitch!

Alessandra - 5/10 - Looked tired and not in the zone, I felt he could have been taken off without noticing it happened.

Stead - 5/10 - Very ineffective but he tried, I just felt he looked too tired and unable to shrug off the Macclesfield defence.

Hemmings - 5/10 - He worked hard, tried his best but like Stead he was very flat in terms of his performance.

Thomas came on and tried, he runs with the ball a little too much for my liking but he gave Notts something extra.

A field where dreams become reality.

It was a real awkward game yesterday is the word I would describe it. Macclesfield showed everything they had to try and get the three points. In my opinion they just have not got the quality in terms of pace or first touch to stay in the league. They struggling against better players unfortunately.

Ratings based on /10.

Fitzsimmons - 8/10 - Another clean sheet! Also a fantastic save at the end of the game to keep us in it and take home all three points! Chuffed to bits for him.

Tootle - 5/10 - Another average performance, caught out at the back a few times, he recovers well but gets himself into a pickle quite often.

Turley - 8/10 - Brilliant! No nonsense and he deals with balls in the air and on the floor brilliantly. To say he was free he is turning out to be a fans favourite, exactly what we need to man mark someone.

Ward - 8/10 (MOTM) - My MOTM today, he brings a cool head to the team. He would be a good captain if Stead was ever not up for it. Really good performance from him and another clean sheet to add to his tally.

Evina - 4/10 - Missing! Didn't even realise he was playing at times. But ... he contributed to the clean sheet.

Boldewjin - 6/10 - Lazy from him today ... apart from the amazing piece of recovering work to get the ball he lost which he turned out getting and then winning a penalty that would win us a game. But I can't go higher than a 6 for one thing he did in the game. His pace scared the Macc defence.

Brisely - 6/10 - Wierd. Why we played him in CM I don't know but he did OK surprisingly. I think this says everything you need to know about Kewell's plans for Vaughan. Hes done.

Hewitt - 5/10 - Filled the hole well today. Just a bit sloppy with some of his passes.

Alessandra - 7/10 - Did the dirty work again well today. Just needs to have the confidence to shoot more as I said last week. Good all round performance though, he is thriving under Kewell.

Stead - 7/10 - Brilliant again. Penalty perfectly dispatched and he put 100% effort into the team again. What a man! Deserves to keep his place.

Hemmings - 4/10 - Isolated and missed a sitter. Not his best game, put the effort in though. Weekend to forget by his standards.

It was an ugly performance but we brought the 3pts home which is what matters. COYP!!!! Let us know your ratings down below.

I didn’t attend the match so I can’t give player ratings it’s interesting to read other people’s though.

I wasn't there either but keep adding your ratings, it's not too late yet and I am sure other fans would appreciate weighing them all up.

@AmericanPie

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

@CliftonMagpie One of the first things I look out for.

It's always nice to see the ratings and the small comments left about the players performances, so please do keep them up.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.
