Ratings Notts v Swindon

Featured Replies

based on mean of 5

Fitzsimons 5 Very well protected in the first half, thought he would be in for a quiet afternoon. Lack of challenges by Notts allowed the Swindon player tee himself up for first goal, and misfortune from Turley slammed in the own goal.

Tootle 5 Not the same player as last season, seems to play with a lot on his mind... Should have scored a truly iconic goal with such one touch build up. Stallard said he was injured when subbed, game changing moment in the wrong way

Ward 5 Not looking comfortable on the ball when playing out from the back, one scary moment that nearly cost us a goal

Turley 5.5 Unlucky with the own goal, plays with passion

Evina 6.5  An absolute quality ball in for Hemming's opener. Joint MoTM

Hewitt 4 another switch from midfield engine room to a defensive liability. How many times do we see this?

Milsom 6.5 Joint MoTM Gem of a midfield king pin performance in the first half, don't know what happened in the 2nd though

Alessandra 4 Many praising his performances this season but his sloppiness in possession cost us the first goal.

Boldewijn 6 Always the only "threat" when in possession but does frustrate with the quality of his final ball

Hemmings 4 Well how many chances does this guy need? Agana-esque performance, cannot fault his work rate but ability in front of goal is limited. The opposite extreme end of the spectrum to a "natural goal scorer"

Stead 5.5 Works hard, one powerful shot when it may have been better to have released Boldewijn in space.

Subs

Thomas 4 Wasted free kick when we needed something. Note of caution, Thomas and Alessandra were relegated with Hartlepool

Vaughan 2 Playing with red tinted specs? That pass to the Swindon player that led up to their winner, when there was no Notts player in that area of play. An absolute disgrace to the shirt

Fitzsimons 6 - Couldn't do anything for the two goals

Tootle 5 - Agree he's not the same player as last season but did well to combat the threat of Matt Taylor until he had to come off

Turley 6 - Very stern defender and unlucky with the own goal. Puts his body on the line for the cause

Ward 5 - Was decent but at fault for the first goal with a shocking attempt at a tackle on Steven Alzate. Did a good block in the first half when all the Notts team and their dog seemed to throw their body in the way.

Evina 6 - Good cross for Hemmings for the goal and looks steady defensively

Hewitt 5 - Did well in midfield but frustrating at times because he doesn't use his head. Tries to do un-league 2 things. He's not a right-back but his defending for the second goal would make aspiring footballers cry.

Milsom 7 - Has effort and passion and buzzes about. Mops up when needs to and tries to get us on the front foot. However, he's a walking yellow card at times

Boldewijn 5 - On the ball he is brilliant but he needs to use the overlap more when Tootle gives him an option

Alessandra 4 - Ghost. Not the Alessandra we've become used to. No pivots, turns or spins. Lewi is the guy who needs to buzz about behind the striker, helping the wingers and Stead.

Hemmings 5 - Good for him to get a goal but should have had a hattrick. How many chances does he need? In the second half, he headed at the keeper when he really should have just smashed it.

Stead 5 - Won what he could in the air but was isolated in the second half.

Thomas 3 - Tried to inject something into the team late on but couldn't change the game with barely any time left.

Vaughan 0 - Useless. Just get rid. Offers nothing in home games

Dennis N/A - Not enough time to impact the game. Needs to start against Port Vale as he is more a goalscorer than Hemmings.

Kewell 4 - Set up correctly first half and we played some delightful football. Should have replaced Tootle with Davies instead of Vaughan, with Turley moving to right-back. Will learn that Hewitt can't play RB and that we need to work on finishing on the training ground. Need to win ugly as well. CM, RB and target man striker needed in January. Still reeling from Nolan's mess

Analyst

Fitzsimons 4. Still a liability.

Tootle 6. poor communication led to him being subbed. He was limping but signalled to the bench he was ok but they didn’t get the message.

Ward 6. Solid defensively but distribution sometimes disappointing.

Turley 7. Work horse and tries to lead from the back. Unlucky with the own goal.

Evina 6.5. Always available as an outlet but sometimes overlooked.

Hewitt 5. Decent in midfield but never a fullback!

Milsom 6.5 Great first half but another booking cooled his enthusiasm.

Alessandra 5. Tried his best but wasn’t quite on it yesterday.

Boldewijn 6. Great when running at people but seems to fizzle out at the critical stage.

Hemmings 5.5. Tries hard but needs to finish.

Stead 5. Always Works hard but 90 minutes is beyond him. He needs a rest.

Vaughan. 1. Another game another defeat !!

Thomas. 3. Too little time to make an impact.

Dennis. 1. Feel for him, no time at all.

Forgot to mention, Hewitt should have had a second yellow for a blatant pull back.
