Dean Saunders?

Featured Replies

So the speculation begins, Colin slater is reporting on Radio Nottingham that Dean Saunders is seriously interested in the job and is expected to apply.

What's everyone's thoughts on him? I seem to remember he did rather well at Wrexham, would you want him at Notts?

Not experienced enough for me, I can't say I'm keen on any names being thrown into the hat but aslong as Hodge doesn't get it - I'm quite prepared to get behind the whole club.

Danny Wilson I am not convinced by.

Dean Saunders kept Wrexham in the Conference.

Admit it Pies fans Paolo's the man for you.

Wouldn't want Paolo and thankfully can't afford him.

You've turned into a WUM Mickey! :(

Saunders has a patchy record, mostly indifferent and unimaginative. Wilson is a solid, experienced campaigner who has a pedigree that suggests he might well get us out of the bottom 4. I'd take him ahead of the assorted dross, hopefuls and maybe's being touted around.

Can't see any other realistic candidates tbh. Rowett has about 5 mins of experience and no credentials to imply that he's the man for this particular job, Lee Bradbury would be a better option than him IMO.

Until someone mentions anyone with a better record of achievements, who we can realistically afford, I'd go for Wilson, any day of the week.

Sorry Joe: just a little light relief on a miserable day down South.

Danny Wilson was Paolo's predecessor and is a safe pair of hands. His career record would indicate that you would be safe from relegation this year, challenge for promotion next and part company from him the season after.

He is an honourable, eloquent man and a decent manager.

I was listening to Matchtalk last night and it was all about Notts only a couple of calls about them across the river. I am glad to say Colin Slater was back in the hot seat said that the smart money was now on Danny Wilson and he wouldn't be surprised to see him installed before the weekend.

Andy Legg reckons that he'll be assistant manager if Dean Saunders gets the job!! Just thought I'd throw that one in!! ;)

Someone reckons that they saw Andy Legg at the match last night, amongst the reported 40 managers and scouts that were present.

Yes he was definitely there and telling people about being the assistant to Saunders if he gets the job.

Didn't see Legg, but Rowett was in the VP's lounge at half time. Not sure where he sat during the game. He wasn't wish RT or JR. There was nobody else of note, prospective manager wise, sitting in the Directors' box.

Kevin Randall was with Les Bradd and Bobby Tait, any ex player would usually be somewhere near those guys - so not sure where Legg was supposed to be either.
