Sean Derry's Black & White Army!

Sean Derry has been confirmed in the last few moments as the new manager of Notts County.

Yes he's inexperienced and it's a MASSIVE gamble, but Derry as a fan will not want to see players fail, and he'll have plenty of passion. Plus him and Greg Abbot will never let this lot get away with murder as they have been, and for that I'm in.

Welcome aboard Sean :) We hope you enjoy your probably short stay with us.

Yep, the speculation is over and it's up the fans to get behind them and the team whether or not we wanted them.

Looking forward to seeing Derry in the team but I've heard it won't be until January.

Hello!

Good luck Shaun that's what I say!

slightly looking more forward to him being in the team than being the manager but lets see. Think there's a picture of him in the crowd when bish scored against man city???

Let's be fair, any fan is entitled to express their views. It's now time to come on board - If you're not interested in doing so, you will come back at some point. Supporting any team or sport is tribal - I'm not going to throw my dummy away because of it!

I can say I'm not impressed, I didn't want him but I've always said I would back the manager.

Thing is, you can't prove anyone wrong. Those who have said they won't be going to watch Notts or Support them any longer, perhaps have had enough of things which have happened? This is all debatable.

I'm a Notts fan, I love the club and care passionately about them. As most will do, let's hope he gets things right. I think the worst thing is the appointment of abbot. He might be a good assistant - We all know that football is strange but I can say for sure there's very little signs he's a manager! I hope Shaun Derry does well, as I do with Abbot.

We could have taken far worse on to be honest.

Good luck Shaun. Hope it works out for you. Great to see a Notts fan managing the club.

Brilliant interview on the Magpie Player!

Speaks of passion and determination, he clearly as a good attitude - Do I feel calmer? I actually do. There's no ill feelings towards anyone, just wishes and I have to say it's beyond a joke to attack people. Fans or the whoever gets appointed!

If he can apply what he's spoke about but on the field - it will be win win.

At least he knows the importance of self belief.

According to his first interview, he won't be eligable to play at all this season having already represented two clubs

So Shaun Derry is now our manager? The news came flooding in today.

I have not really been checking the news, its been very busy period for me. I think his recent experience within the top flight league will help him, Notts was always likely to appoint someone who displeases the majority of fans. A club like ours are not in the position to do otherwise, so it is a fairly big gamble by the club but one I can see paying off.

Welcome Back Shaun! Nice to know he has not forgotten us!

Just watched the interview sounds like he's gonna kick some ass! watch out arquin! :hyper:

Also, I see him being able to inspire the players. If his team talks are anything like his first interview! It's been awhile since I've honestly enjoyed interviews by our managers. I did some of CK's but towards the end, the game talk and the whole blaming this was getting to me. The focus needs to be firmly on the team as an whole and not that we're not clinical enough or that we leak goals.

Hope Derry does put his thoughts across to the players who have let us down.

The new management team is now in place.Nott's County's future is now in THEIR hands no matter what anyone thinks of them.I wasn't impressed how my team,Derby County, handled the sacking of Nigel Clough a few weeks ago.I was very, very upset when Steve McLaren was appointed but I'm coming round a bit now. It's a huge gamble with this appointment.I wish them and Notts well .Only time will tell-Give them a fair chance.

The one thing I can't understand about this appointment is that he is designated as Player Manager, I have just had chance to watch the first interview with him on Magpie Player and the way he is talking is that he has finished his playing career and is concentrating on being manager. He can't in any case play this season because of fifa rules he can't play for more than two clubs in a season.

So is he player manager or just manager? Confused.

Like your good self Tony, he isn't getting any younger so maybe it is the end. It is certainly the twilight, I think it may all be down to how fit he can keep himself while being the manager. No game time at all, isn't going to do his "match fitness" any good and so I suspect he may call time at the end of the season anyway.

Just seen that we are supposed to have applied for special dispensation for SD to be able to play this season. If that comes off then great!!

That would be great, I'd love to see him playing in the team, we need a leader on the field as well as off.

he comes across quite well, i like the passion he shows but the news have mentioned he wants to focus on be the manager, not a fan. i really dont see the problem with being either

Good luck,Shaun.
