New Signing

Shaun Derry has wasted no time trying to shore up our dodgy defence. According to radio Nottingham we are about to sign Keiran Freeman on loan from Derby.

He's been on loan here before and as I remember he was pretty useful.

Good signing and at least Derry is looking to sort out our defensive problems. He had a good spell here last time and scored as well if I remember correctly. Just need a replacement for Labadie in midfield and then we might stop giving away needless free kicks!

Something posted on the list which may pose a question:

How come even with new managers, the same players are linked with us or signed? Examples given are Enoch and now Freeman.

I mean would Freeman have been on the radar of either SD or Bud? Is this, as eluded whereby instruction comes from above?

I don't know, and certainly have no axe to grind, I am just throwing it out there for discussion. Would be an ok addition any ways up.

That's a very good point, I don't think our present management team would be aware of Freeman so one can only assume that he was recommended by members of the board due to his previous loan spell, is that interference? Was SD told to sign him or did he have the option to say no because he had an alternative player in his sights. I suppose we will never know but as you say Freeman will be a good addition to the squad but according to the radio it's only until January unless we can extend it.

Be interesting to see where he fits in if it's true. If I'm thinking of the right player he's a RB by trade, and when i've seen Notts Dumbuya has been pretty good in that position. Maybe he'll go into the centre of defence with Deano which will allow Gary Liddle to play in his natural midfield position? We'll see I guess.

Surprising news, I thought he was getting fairly regular starts at Pride Park?

James

Why do we always have good news when I am the last to find out about it?

I'd be delighted with this signing, he's a player we should have chased more when Derby signed him. I have a feeling he might be a player who will depart them, so getting him back in and enjoying playing, might attract him to sign (I like dreaming). He's definitely a player who can help our defense out, I wonder what this means for Dumbuya? Might we see him in midfield when he returns from injury?

Fantastic news!
