creativity and goals will come with confidence

i have read a lot of comments about the lack of shots on target and concerns about creativity, its only the first game and i do think its safe to say the players need time to get used to each other. i obviously was not at the game but i have seen the highlights and other clips, i think notts just lacked confidence. i would pin it down to opening day nervous and perhaps neal ardley underestimating eastleigh with the formation/tactics.

it happens, we just need to be more confident in the next two home games coming up.

i honestly feel that things will improve, once confidence hits the squad, i feel goals will come but we need to be smarter when playing teams who are quick to suss us out.

I agree mate.

I think the first win is massive, Notts needs to avoid what happened last season. Searching for that first win just added unwanted pressure, the squad is fairly new and all the toxicity from Alan Hardy needs time to settle.

It going to take time but goals and a winΒ will bring back confidence back to the squad. Yesterday was a shaky start to the season but don’t worry about that goals can do so much for squad and there campaign .. it will all come together and goals are the key. When we find the back of the net we will find the conference to attempt set pieces. It’s going to take time with the new signings as well.

Yes, searching for that win added nothing but pressure on the squad and Kevin Nolan.

I'm confident by the new signings, I felt the majority had a good game and Michael Doyle really needs to up his work rate - I think he's very overrated. I don't think someone who jumps up, when a challenge or foot is needed can really criticise the defenders behind him. He reminds a lot of Richard Duffy with how negative he can be.

Stockport will be an interesting game, play two strikers, focus on breaking through the flanks and the centre of the park (not just one) and we'll see the confidence lift.
For strikers, its all about confidence and creativity.

We lacked it yesterday, but it's the first game, let's not stress.

The creativity hole can be filled by Andy Kellett or Will Patching playing in behind the striker in the No.10 role. Doyle shouldn't start in my opinion. We need to press forward when we get the ball in midfield. We do look better in defence however.

Andy Kellett is a good call, he was by far one of the better players not to feature last season and when he did he would often change games. I am confident that creativity will come, yet I think we may struggle to score against some of these taller teams.
