Jim O'Brien has signed a new deal

I started to feel like this wasn't going to happen, I'm pleased as Jim can be the glue and experienced in midfield. 2 years, suggests Notts still sees him as a big part of moving forward! ????

A field where dreams become reality.

Passionate player, who is still at a good age but in his interview he didn't seem to like the word experienced which is what he offers Notts the most. Good to have him tied down for another 2 years!

It makes sense to keep a figure like Jim O'Brien, I see some fans are lining him up already as the captain and that wouldn't be a bad call. Provided he can stay fit and take the starting role setting a consistent level in midfield.

Good business for both parties, I want to see more fire from him.

I don't get why some fans don't rate Jim, when he joined he was the better out of him and Doyle IMO.

If we don't just force him onto the wing, he will be the right man to influence the middle and give more. He doesn't have the pace to be a winger, but has done well at times filling in on the left. It's a no brainer to have him assume control of the middle now Doyle is coaching more.

Jimmy in the middle! Great to read the thoughts and opinions, he's a true professional and a leader. This upcoming season he will be a big part of the squad, helping new signings settle into the club etc.
