  1. Did anyone else watch this match tonight? It was on a Welsh language channel, a really good game between two good teams and Wrexham won 2-1. The commentary was in Welsh so I couldn’t understand them apart from players names, they also mentioned Notts a few times, I’d love to know what they said,

  2. An exciting end to end typical cup game, Crawley play very similar to us, playing the ball out from the back. Both teams were willing to attack it was a very open game, if I was a Crawley fan I’d feel a little aggrieved they didn’t get at least a draw. However Notts took their chances with some very good goals. My man of the match was McGoldrick who I thought was superb having a hand in two goals and scoring a superb goal himself. On to round two Alfreton at home would be nice, what do you think @super_ram?

  6. Was that LW first win in a cup?! We got knocked out of the FA cup last season by Coalville, seem to remember losing very early in the trophy too. This season we’ve lost all prior cup games so it’s great to finally get a win! It was entertaining to listen to, definitely weren’t at our best but our ability to outscore the opposition got us through! And we scored from a short corner! I’d say it was good to give some fringe players a run out but right now that team is pretty much all we’ve got! The injury situation is really frustrating, no idea what’s happened to the likes of Morias and Randall, feels like they’re permanently injured. We couldn’t even fill the bench today and two of the five were academy players. Getting to January feels like it could be a mammoth struggle, we really need to avoid any more injuries, surely we’ve suffered enough now. Looking forward to the draw tomorrow, 2:30pm if anyone wants to watch it live. I’d like a home draw that gives us a chance of getting to the third round or failing that a game against a top L1 team (just for the potential of it being televised for that extra money).

  7. It’s weekend again, they come round very quick or is that just me? Today we’ll be heading home after our family holiday in Northumberland, it’s been a rather wet week to say the least nevertheless we’ve hade a good time. Tomorrow I’ll be at the match to see if Notts can beat Creepy Crawley and give me bragging rights over my brother who lives in Crawley. Sunday we’ll see what the weather is like before making plans. Whats is everyone else up to this weekend, any bonfire parties?

  14. It would be another six years before I was even born! I love the 'Up, up away. You Magpies!' though, the account Ron Manager Remembers Nottingham is great too.

  15. Friday: I've still been working on things for the site. Made the most progress I can achieve, I am very thankful for the help and advice given to me in order to achieve this. Today: I won't be at Meadow Lane, I thought we would be paying my mum a visit but with the rain, it will be Sunday instead. With me not going anywhere properly, I'll try to call by @super_pie, I did manage to get round on Friday with Jake. So, I will be making sure to set up and get back into the swing of things here. I'll come back on Sunday, updating this on what I ended up doing and if anything changed.

  16. No idea, but it might involve some Christmas shopping ahead of my next visit to the UK. I miss bonfire night, maybe I'll find something in my garden I can burn

  17. I'll be making my daughter her 18th birthday cake, and then leaving her and her friends to party tomorrow night. Sunday will be some repairs on my partners washing machine. Hopefully I'll get a run or two in too. A steady weekend.

  18. I was there that day... in the home end! The stands emptied after we scored (both times if I recall). The first time nobody noticed that me, dad and mum hadn't moved, the second time we were well and truly spotted. Luckily dad always looked about 70 so after a few insults they left us alone. I have never felt so scared...even when I lost it in the home end at Birmingham City in 1989 / 90 when we scored a last minute winner wasn't as bad. To be fair they saw the funny side of it,,, something the Chelsea fans could never have been accused of.

  19. I remember the Football Post very well, originally it was pink and a broadsheet rather than tabloid if I remember right, I would leave the ground after the match and by the time I’d walked into town the Football Post was on sale. Sorcery indeed.

  20. My partner found them terribly distracting, and once the light began to fade (only slightly) the reds and yellows really became dominating and possibly had more of an illuminating effect than the floodlights. I am sure floodlights aren't meant to be distracting, so these advertising boards shouldn't either. I really don't like them at all.

  21. I noticed those during our recent away match there. I hate the things as they're designed to draw your attention away from the match, and are much more effective at it than normal boards. However, it'll probably just be a matter of time before they're a requirement as they are in Germany. It would be nice if the powers that be could at least restrict ads with moving graphics, but I'm not holding my breath.

  22. Looks like I’ll be going to the match on my own. @George L has a dicky tummy after something he ate, I won’t go into details but suffice to say on the six hour journey home from our holiday he had a bowl on his knee.
