  1. I want to start off by acknowledging that PON needs to return to a level of consistency with regard to the news, match reports, and so forth. I have numerous finished content pieces which I have put off because I wanted the site to be in full motion, but I haven't managed to keep to the standard I wish to set. Moving forward, if I can't do something, I will ask one of the team members, and I am sure in time things will improve to a standard that visitors and members have enjoyed in the past. I am also pleased to say that I have built and set up a system status page, which can be found here: https://status.prideofnottingham.co.uk/ Transparency and being up front is something I strongly believe in, and this system page will allow those who wish to see what is operational across the site. Issues will be posted as events, and updates will be given in a timely manner. If PON should happen to go down, you will be able to find out why by visiting this page. You may subscribe to email alerts by entering your email address in the "Notify Me" box. Please remember to choose which updates you would like to stay in the loop about. In the event one of these areas encounters a problem, you will be emailed and kept up to date with the progress, but only if you subscribe to this service. Bug reports will still be taken by the site and addressed within the forum. Over the past week, I have spent time improving the mobile experience. While most of this will be noticeable only to team members, it does bring improvements to the header and logo for regular members. There are subtle changes and a few improvements from a recent upgrade, which I plan to make the most of with these new features. Awards will be given out on a merit-based routine, which will be more frequent. In areas and during the site's downtime, I will finish adding the rest of the ones I created. There are a few more things in the pipeline, but they aren't quite ready to be mentioned. My main focus is to get more organised over this weekend and pick up the content. It's a privilege to represent Notts fans and provide content to be enjoyed. I very much appreciate everyone's help, and a more oganised me will be a better PON experience for everyone. Thank you for reading this, Chris
  2. @Chris Great stuff as always you go above and beyond in your efforts, this is why I love this site.
  3. Yeah, we were disappointed. But the money we can understand, and the fact his boss had been Stuart Maynard even more. There's an imaginable scenario where his contribution could help win a promotion.
  4. i like the changes i have noticed to the mobile side, some neat things and as someone with mod powers it would make things easier to do. good update.
  5. I can’t see it happening but would love it if it did. I reckon he could still score goals for us and I personally would welcome him back, I think most fans would.

  10. Very well deserved 👏
  11. Jamie Turley is another ex player of both teams, can we make a starting XI?
  12. We got Calvin Miller on loan from them. Who knew this? Miller is the reigning SPFL's Scottish Championship Player of the Year and now plays in the Scottish Premiership.
  13. I think the Bedeau news should clinch the win. Without RodMac, he would've been difficult to replace. You'd have either Bennetts there or Macari - so a back three of Ness, Platt, Macari, none of them in the groove in those exact positions. Harrogate might've benefitted from that. As it is, Macari can continue his partnership with Tsaroulla and Bedeau's so strong we can bring back JJ or continue with Bennetts, it doesn't matter - we'll be strong down that side too.
  14. 5-0 to Notts. No mercy from MP. Just enjoy it.
  15. Fantastic news. What a signing this turned out to be. Nailed on for making the L2 team of the season.
  16. I really appreciate all the hard work you and the team have put into the website. It’s clear that a lot of time and care has gone into it. As members, we should try to match that same level of effort. I include myself in that. It’s only fair that we support the work by staying involved and doing our part. I think the site is shaping up really well. I’m genuinely pleased with how it’s coming together.

  24. I haven't yet given much else a go, but I have re-installed Championship Manager 04 which has my favourite Notts lineup in the attacking department but DOSBox does a great job running CM 98. At some point, I plan to configure it so I can quick launch Ultimate Soccer Manager 98 and 2000. CM and USM were my favs back in the day, along with Premier Manager. Regarding Sensible Soccer, do you know a fan remade it? https://sensiblesoccer.de/swos-2020

  30. @Fan of Big Tone and @DangerousSausage the best of luck to you both with your medical issues. The waiting for appoinments and results is very stressful .I hope Notts performances and results help keep your spirits up.
  31. Better safe than sorry @Fan of Big Tone, hope you got sorted. I'm going to have to see the doctor yet again about my swollen mouth which is showing no signs of improvement. This will be my fourth doctor now - hopefully this one will take me seriously. The first one actually searched my symptoms on Google while I sat in the room with him. I got back from the U of K yesterday and will be back for Christmas now. I didn't get to see Notts this time but I'm at least armed with a new home shirt (the first one since the sponsorless 17/18 shirt). I might give DOSBox a try (I always fancied Sensible Soccer, and I miss football games). I've got Football Manager 2006 and have played it half to death. The latest versions don't really appeal to me as I think it's become too complex.
  32. Morning all, there was heavy rain in the night but it’s dry and bright at the moment. We are having a walk up to the doctors surgery this morning, Mrs. T is still having a few ongoing problems and she’s finished her antibiotics, she then wants to go and see her girlie friends for coffee so I’m on my own till lunch time but I’ve got plenty to do. Later I’ll be watching Notts on the box, safe travels to our supporters. I hope everyone is well, let us know what’s happening in your life.
  33. On Saturday Notts take on Harrogate at Meadow Lane, how many links can we find between the two clubs, players, managers, coaches etc. My starter for 10 is Paul Bolland who played for Notts from 1999 - 2005 making 106 appearances scoring 6 goals he went on loan to Harrogate in 2012-2013. How many more can we find?
  34. These are the sort of matches Notts really needs to start winning now. Our results against the smaller sides have been a bit up and down, but things are starting to look more positive. Recent form has picked up and the performances have been much more encouraging. You can see the effort and belief returning to the team. Playing at Meadow Lane should give us a boost. The home crowd always helps, but Harrogate are tidy, well-organised side who can take advantage if we switch off. It won’t be easy, but the key is to stay focused, work hard, and make the most of any chances that come our way.
  35. Wow, great story and great news. Like a lot of fans, I'd given up on him and just didn't think it would happen for him with us. So much had gone wrong, it seemed ill-fated. It's testament to his determination then that he came back stronger than ever and he's been outstanding over the last dozen games or so. And kudos to Montague for recruiting him in Jan '24 We don't have to worry so much about ever losing Matty Palmer either - the baton can be passed on to Robbo. And the way a young, physical midfield of Robbo and Iorpenda looked at Cheltenham is a nice option to have now and a possible glimpse into the years ahead.
  36. He deserves this. He has arguably been our best player since his return. I'm sure we haven't seen the best of him yet either. He's young enough to improve. Maybe a future club captain in the making.
  37. Info from the morning HC presser. As far as the injuries are concerned McDonald is back on the grass, Jaden Luker is making good progress after his Knee operation, Kellan Gordon has done some training. Matt Palmer & Jodi Jones are in contention for a place on Saturday. Jacob Bedeau isn't suspended as he has only four yellow cards not five, so he's in contention too.
  38. I think the thread might need a disclaimer. Us fans will always comment honestly on how we see the team, sections of the team, and individual players....usually from the standpoint of wanting success and the advancement of our club. But when we have doubts about players, I think we all want to be proven wrong. We want nothing more than players proving themselves and making the critics eat humble pie. I'd be over moon if, say, Grant and Iorpenda proved themselves to be promotion calibre No. 10s. The club's advancement is pretty much the be all and end all of being a fan. This should go without saying, but may get a bit lost on forums when debates and discussions get going.
  39. I am pleased for Scott Robertson, he deserved the Man of the Match no doubt. This will be better promoted and highlighted moving forward; it slipped my mind due to two reasons one being health related but it's not good enough. I apologise to the community, and to @Robbie. I am greatful for the understanding, but the process needs better handling and I should have reached out to a team member.

  41. I've said that countless times myself @Piethagoram ! You must have missed the umpteen times I've made exactly that point For now though, I'm happy to support him as we look to gather enough points to put us in a good spot come January. Obviously Hall is ahead of all AMs, but in the absence of Luker, Grant is worth one of the AM shirts, bearing in mind that Iorpenda hasn't notched a single senior goal yet, and looks better playing deeper.
  42. I’m going to go for the obvious one; Rod McDonald. Probably the best small fee signing for years. This is tricky, genuinely can’t think of many players here. The only other I can think of (here’s a little clue for someone who is maybe scratching their head) currently plays in League One…
  43. I think that it is a big opportunity for Notts to consolidate their position in the top three on Saturday against Harrogate. Notts have won their last three league matches against Harrogate so they will be keen to extend that record against them. Harrogate are a possession based side who like to build from the back, but I would expect them to be very defensive minded & employ a high press & wait for the Magpies to make a mistake defensively. It's a similar tactics that all opponents tend to resort to at Meadow Lane. I expect Paterson will pick his strongest side available, but he will be pleased that the replacements played so well last Monday against Cheltenham. Martin may even decide to pick the starting eleven that faced Cheltenham. I think that Notts will get the win. I'm looking at a 2:0 win with Jatta & Hall the goalscorers
  44. My choice is Jon Stead who played for Notts from 2015 to 2019, he made 162 appearances for Notts & scored 42 goals. He then transferred to Harrogate & played for them from 2019 to 2021 making 46 appearances & scoring 8 goals.

  46. I am pleased Mrs. T is still getting out and is on the mend. Hopefully, within a few days, she'll feel much better. I have been coding a bit the last two days; I have built something to help with updating members on crucial parts of the site that might be experiencing trouble. It's not the most complex thing, but it is one of the first things that I have coded which required a database and a full app structure. I also took the initiative to manually prevent the newest member from being displayed among the validating members. It allows me to keep PON safe from spam bot accounts, and I have implemented ways of reducing this. Until about 4:30, I have felt good, but now I am trying to stay awake. The weather outside is dismal; poor Cheeky got completely soaked while going to pick Ava up from school. The only other thing I have been doing is loading Championship Manager 1998 in DOSBox and playing it as I go about doing stuff. Naturally, I chose Notts and spent a spell in 3rd and 2nd; then I was top for about 10 games. I am now 5th and seem to be struggling to motivate the players. I score and end up drawing. Or, I concede and get battered. Mansfield and Lincoln both beat by 5 goals to 1.
  47. I think now that the dust has settled, and we're over the disappointment of Saturday night, maybe we will see the performance was simply down to stage-fright. The players seem to freeze under the spotlight of being expected to win against the minnows on live nationwide TV. Perhaps it was just the giant killing phenomenon of the FA Cup that worked against us. It has happened to many better teams than us over the years. As @Robbie says it's time to move on. The Brackley match will not define our season. What we need now is a response and then "normal service" will resume. COYP!
  48. I feel sorry for Kelle Roos. He stayed focused and gave us hope with his penalty save. Their keeper came across as a bit cocky before that, which is not a good attitude to show, even though he had done well. Alassana Jatta should not have missed his effort. It put us on the back foot and it might have been better to let someone calmer, like Will Jarvis, take the first one. If we had chosen the right penalty takers in the right order, it would have put more pressure on the opposition.
  49. Noooo! He belongs back here. 😭
