  1. It was a very frustrating game, but that said, I don't think either team played badly. Harrogate might have been fortunate to capitalise on some horrific defending, and to concede from trying to defend is both ironic for us and a highlight of just how much more aware we should be in key stages of games. You can say it was a fluke deflection, or just that Notts were unlucky, but who was paying attention? Kelle Roos couldn't do much more, considering it put Harrogate clean through, and all this, "Alex Bass" would have saved it. I am sorry, we need to move on and accept Roos is a totally different keeper. Notts had chances to win the game, and I won't mention the number of appeals for a penalty. I think Tyrese Hall had a good effort and should have done better in the first half, but shot straight at James Belshaw. We had 13 shots; only 3 of those were on target, and maybe on a different day we would have scored more, but we have to make the chances count for something. Harrogate wasn't all that great defensively; their time-wasting antics were as blatant as day is long. Even Belshaw became a wind-up merchant, but that will be overlooked because he supports Notts.
  2. A significant portion of the internet suffered downtime, as the global infrastructure of Cloudflare suffered major networking outages. I have been watching this closely, and I believe we are over the worst of it, but I am mindful that existing issues in other regions of the world could mean further downtime. As always, the best way to stay updated with site-related issues is to bookmark and visit our status page. https://status.prideofnottingham.co.uk/ Please note that since I built this system myself, there are still existing bugs, which I try to resolve at night when my time is more free. Our status page was unaffected during the outage and is reliable for updates. Subscriptions to event notifications and the search function are in progress, but I have no ETA on the fixes.
  3. The issue is that it's becoming almost as fictional as "Catch Me If You Can" and the whole Frank Abagnale, Jr, story. I watched Panorama ages ago where they tracked down Russell King, but most of the stories on Munto are becoming quite fictional, and people are taking liberties to embellish what actually happened. I can't say Sky's is, but this is my general thought.
  4. It's hard to imagine Notts without Scott Robertson in the team, since he joined he really has become a permanent fixture in the squad, and although he has had spells out of the squad through injury and occasionally being rested or dropped. There is no denying how important it is to get a player like him committed to the club for a longer period of time. Obviously, it doesn't mean he will see out the contract as a Notts player, but it shows the importance the club sees in him to extend the deal beyond a year or two. The deal will give Robertson peace of mind and allow him to focus on his football.
  5. Will Jarvis gave it a good go and showed some promise, but he’ll need more time to earn regular minutes ahead of Keanan Bennetts and Nick Tsaroulla when they’re playing well. They’ve got the edge when they’re in form. It was nice to see Jarvis back in action. His biggest challenge seems to be lasting the full 90 minutes. That might sound a bit harsh, and I know some people rate him, but he’s a different kind of player when he comes off the bench. He brings more energy in short bursts. Notts did most things right against Harrogate. It was a tense game and you could see how easily someone might have been sent off out of frustration. Matthew Dennis was lucky not to be punished for that push after his penalty. The Harrogate player did barge into him and looked like he said something, but Dennis still took a risk.

  7. That was a bit of a hard watch. Even in the second half, when we showed more urgency, we barely tested their goalkeeper at all. It's always difficult when the opposition is as compact as Harrogate were, but of all the crosses we put into their box, we were first to very few of them. As for the penalty, I thought Jarvis played for it at first, but on viewing the replay the Harrogate player had his hand on his back (and must have been pushing, otherwise he wouldn't have gone down with him). I missed the big handball shout on PiesPlayer and they didn't show a replay, so i can't comment on that. Jatta, Hall and Tsuroulla had a quiet day. I thought Bennetts did OK, but nobody was really attacking his crosses. If Grant had taken his early chance first time instead of taking an extra touch, it could have been a very different game. Harrogate deserved to take something from that game simply because of the spirit they showed with their backs to the wall, but from our point of view that game was winnable. At least we rescued a point.
  8. Harrogate boss night be frustrated but he would be wouldn't he. He didn't seem to be frustrated about his side wasting time or the other fouls in the penalty area that Harrogate got away with. Notts were worth their point for their 2nd half display, & if Notts has taken their chances, they would have won the match at a canter.

  13. I think we may see Macaulay Langstaff back at Notts, but I think he will still have a few seasons trying to establish himself at Championship/League One level. It might be worth it for him to find the right League One team to achieve this, as gaining promotion with a team would make it easier for him to settle back into the challenge of playing at his highest level. However, I don't think Peterborough United are the right team. I don't think Luke Williams will have it all that easy, and his position may quickly come under fire. Swansea fans didn't really rate him, and when this type of success comes from a manager who only has experience with a team like us, well, it quickly becomes a case of "he's not good enough." I wish Williams well; Peterborough are massively underachieving, but they have some major issues which are embedded deep within the team. I don't think Williams will be able to do it alone; he will need the fans support too.
  14. Nominations like this, it's always a sign of progress and promise. I am pleased for both Martin Paterson, and Alassana Jatta. I think Martin Paterson is the type of person that would scare off any potential voodoo or curse, I mean, just his stir alone is enough to know he's not to be messed with.

  17. Yes it was, I think it’s time VAR was allowed to intervene on a second yellow card, it was never a foul and that of course had a huge bearing on the game.

  21. It’s an incredible story, Russell King was/is a very clever man, he even managed to dupe heads of government, he lived a lavish lifestyle on other people’s money ruining people’s lives along the way, the trail even went as far as North Korea when he took Sven with him to try and set up a minerals deal. The take over of Notts County was only a small part of what he was involved in. It’s a shame he used his talents in such a nefarious way. It’s well worth a watch if you get chance.
  22. @Robbie I'm pleased that Notts managed to get a point out of this game. We have seen games such as this one at Meadow Lane end in defeat. I totally agree with @Robbie as we didnt turn up today unfortunately. The lack of energy and enthusiasm in the first half was confusing especially after such a gritty and dogged performance on Monday. Big boot syndrome from Roos didnt help matters as no one was feeding off Jatta in the first half therefore once again wasting posession and giving them an easy ride. I thought we rallied a little in the second half and when substitutions were made that midfield solidity returned. All in all not bad.
  23. No one can say League 2 is predictable or lacks excitement this season. There's no clear favourite to win the league. If I was asked who is going to get promoted, I couldn't say at this point. I see this as a point gained. Onwards and upwards.....
  24. This game seemed very similar to last week when we were good in the first half but awful second half this week it was the opposite not so good first half but much much better second half. One of these days Notts will put on a proper 90+ minutes performance. I think the least we deserved was a point. The subs came on and did well again I thought Jarvis was excellent and Palmer always makes a huge difference. We are still only 2 points off the top so it could have been worse.
  25. Agree @YoopEyes Palmer MoTM. Sponsors need to visit Specsavers on Sunday if they still think Hall was worthy of that accolade😉
  26. Let's here from Head Coach Martin Paterson.
  27. I think that's a game we would have lost last season, so to get a point is a positive for me. It's very difficult when teams sit deep behind the ball. If there is one we need to work on it finding a way to break these teams down. Putting balls into the box doesn't work against strong defences and good goalkeepers that command the their area. I do think the likes of Jarvis and Bennetts and Jodi when fit have what it takes to go past players and get in to the box then like today anything can happen!
  28. This documentary is on Sky Documentaries at 8.00 pm tonight. It tells the story of Russell King and the Munto takeover of Notts County. It should be a good watch.
  29. Yes I noticed there were a lot of sites down it wasn’t just PoN, nowt you could do gaffer just needs time for Cloudfare to resolve it.
  30. Notts have been on the end of some horrendous refereeing decisions & they continue to happen., but unfortunately that's a part of football. Even though we have to put up with these questionable decisions I still wouldn't like to see VAR being introduced to League 2 matches. VAR makes mistakes too because at the end of the day, VAR still has to rely on officials making the final decision & we have seen terrible decisions made in spite of VAR . Scotland deserved their victory & I'm pleased that they will be going to the World Cup. Wales have a great chance of qualifying too, & they will play at home in their playoff semi final against either Albania, Bosnia, Kosovo or Republic of Ireland.
  31. It's a very cold day here. I have been monitoring the temperature outside and it has just gone above freezing for the first time today. Looks like it will be a another cold night. We haven't had any snowfall here. The sky has cleared somewhat this afternoon so the temperature will be going back down very soon.. pleased that we managed to get the grass cut the other day.
  32. For me a takeaway from the Harrogate game is that Martin Paterson’s previous comments about the door being closed for one or two players, doesn’t include Will Jarvis.

  35. My takeaway thought from the match is not to get tickets for the back of the pavis stand, not only is it exhausting getting up there but it takes ages to get out as everyone lower down get on the stairways first. My takeaway on the actual match is that I hope MP gives Jarvis a run in the team.
  36. Very frustrating and disappointing display tbh. I have zero idea how Hall was MOTM. Yes, he did some fancy turns & actually put some effort in during the last 20 mins. Prior to that he looked off the pace, was rarely available for a pass and didn’t seem to get involved. He fluffed our best chance in the 1st half too. Technically gifted player with an eye for goal but today was not his best day. Robertson, Bedeau & Grant were our liveliest and most effective performers until later in the game. Ness put a few stray passes around but was generally solid, Macari had a decent enough game too. Very good on the ball but his crosses are weak. Jarvis flatters to deceive, only time he tried to go round his man, he “won” the peno. He cuts inside or passes sideways & backwards too much for me tbh. He needs to be more decisive & direct if he wants to stay in the team. On balance, Palmer made a huge difference in the 2nd half - he probably deserved MOTM tbh.
  37. FULL TIME.We found a way to avoid a defeat. That's a positive.
  38. Half Time.Much work to doMark Stallard: ‘Not enough urgency from Notts, they’ve been a little slow and lethargic.’

  40. if we signed macca back on loan, he would be the push needed to give this season all the fight we could. tho i do think peterborough united would be a good chance to revive his career, i just would not expect williams to be there at the end of his loan or permanent move depending on if anything unfolds. i think its a difficult job for williams and a striker wont solve all the problems he has.
  41. Info from the morning HC presser. As far as the injuries are concerned McDonald is back on the grass, Jaden Luker is making good progress after his Knee operation, Kellan Gordon has done some training. Matt Palmer & Jodi Jones are in contention for a place on Saturday. Jacob Bedeau isn't suspended as he has only four yellow cards not five, so he's in contention too.
  42. Notts are the form team in the League so both have an excellent chance of getting these coveted award's. Good luck to both of them.
  43. Unfortunately I think the return of Macca is a bit of a pipe dream for us, especially as we are still in League 2. Pretty much every club in League 1 would be happy to have him (assuming they can afford him!)
  44. Had an idea this could happen. Hands off Jatta & anyone else at Notts in the January window.
