  1. I'm sure it will come to Sky Showcase at some point which I believe is on Virgin's TV bundle. The first three episodes are great, the story builds, and it is very well-written. By the fourth, I started to appreciate "From" a bit more. Although, I have seen the third season, and I won't give any spoilers, but there are times when I felt disappointed with how the plot expanded. It's a very "Lost" style thing, which I said before, but you will see what I mean I believe. @Fan of Big Tone
  2. It looks like a publicity stunt, but at the same time I think the media are being quick to be negative about it. It might put some of these people in their places, or it could give them a platform to be more than just a social influencer. Jake Paul has split off into other avenues, such as wrestling. Although, I think that is more disrespectful if said person hasn't earned his spot. Football is one of those things that if you are good enough, it will show, whereas my earlier comparison to wrestling - it's not as simple. Good wrestlers can carry their opponents, Bret Hart being well known for making the likes of Jim Powers (among others). If a player in football can't give a good account of themselves, on the pitch it's going to bite them. Also, those who have gone from social media into MMA/Boxing tend to let themselves down. Just like being a wrestler doesn't make you an MMA fighter. *Cough *Cough CM Punk.
  3. It's on the Peacock network, although it should be available to certain Sky customers. Are you a subscriber to Sky Glass or Sky Plus? @Fan of Big Tone "Outside of the U.S., Peacock is available for Sky TV (including Sky Glass, Sky Plus, Sky Q and NOW customers) at no extra cost in the U.K. and Ireland. You can also stream Peacock in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy with Sky, and the streaming service recently rolled out in the Nordics with SkyShowtime." I believe this is streaming only, as it hasn't yet been confirmed to be broadcasting on UK television. https://www.justwatch.com/us/tv-show/teacup
  4. Unlike some Brits, I don't fear snow or power cuts. The last time I experienced a power cut in Winter was due to my idiot neighbours using a power tool in their garage, which tripped the electricity for about 6 houses. Whilst my children all freaked out, I happily sat with them in the living room playing Samsung's default ringtone - which has since been renamed "Powercut Music" by my family. I don't like silence due to years of issues formerly with noise. It's something I am only starting to get over, as once I couldn't hear silence without feeling triggered. If we are hit with a bad storm, the UK media will turn it into something bigger than it is. We never really have it all that bad; it's the coldness which I am more worried about. The change has already hit me with six, and I do believe it has impacted my mental health too.
  5. So, Jatta didn't score? This is very bizarre and poorly handled by the AFCON.
  6. This is great news, I noticed some pictures on Twitter when I briefly went on over the weekend. It's encouraging, a few years back we played in a youth cup final against Walsall at their ground. I hope fans are able to go to the next round to give them support.
  7. Good coverage for Notts and Jatta, I am pleased he scored on his international debut despite some media outlets reporting he assisted it. There was some confusion due to this, but it's good to see him making headlines in the Football League Paper.
  8. A while ago, a TV show called "Under the Dome" was recommended in a topic here. I watched it and thought it was okay, but it quickly became one of those shows where the direction seemed unsure. The plot was interesting, but I don't think it was executed well. It reminded me of another show I loved until the final series, which then declined (Jericho 2006). I recommended "From," which @Fan of Big Tone became interested in. That show follows a story about people trapped in a small village-like community where creatures come out at night and attack anyone who isn't safe with talismans. Season 3 of "From," created by the same team that wrote 'Lost,' is nearly finished in America. However, I would highly recommend another show that I have recently started watching called 'Teacup.' I am two episodes in, and the production and writing so far are excellent, as is the cast. It feels like a film in terms of quality, and I find it very interesting. While I take shows on their own merit, I do find it much better than 'From.'
  9. Having now watched the full highlights of the game, I can safely put my vote towards Nick Tsaroulla. I think George Abbott, had he continued consistently throughout the game, would have been closer competition for my vote.
  10. What utter nonsense by the BBC. It was an exhibition fight, which highly favoured Jake Paul even though he'll never be to the standard that Mike Tyson was in his prime. Tyson, at 58-years-old, was always going to struggle with a 27-year-old. Personally, I think he deserves more respect for coming out of retirement, and having worked so hard to get into shape for the contest. These fights, they mean nothing. It's just money, but some media outlets love to pretend that it does. This is a very tedious article, one you would expect to be written by a non-mainstream news outlet. The part I have highlighted and underlined says it all. Jake Paul is a professional boxer now. He has been training with some former high calibre people such as Theotrice Chambers, and formerly Shane Mosley. I think more should be said about Paul's seriousness for the sport, and how if he's serious about it - he should fight active boxers. There's no doubt anyone with some common sense would expect Tyson to be slow, and sluggish compared to the 27-year-old Paul. Tyson has done any further damage to his career, nothing worse than when he was an active boxer. If anything, he's showing that he's reformed these days and has a much better overall image. The actual fight? He lost, it means nothing.
  11. Some fans might dismiss young talent, especially earlier on, but I have said before, our youngsters need to be hitting 5–10 appearances when considered ready. Then the following season, you aim to expose them to more football. As fans, we can pass our thoughts regarding youngsters, but players develop at different times. There's much more that goes into someone reaching their potential. Smart clubs will figure this out, as good facilities and coaching staff are just part of it. First season: 1-5, second: 5-10 and third: 10-20. If a manager truly believes in academy players, and first team members look out for them - then some will flourish. Obviously, not all youngsters can get time on the pitch, but the ones who do well should be pushed in a way that integrates them with the first team in my opinion.
  12. This is a very sensible decision, one which I hope Ryley Reynolds benefits from. Sometimes, I feel Notts loan out players to teams just for the sake of it. There was a time we would feed local clubs, and where at the time it seemed to make some sense in hindsight it's more related to the club doing said team a favour, or due to limited options. There's no point sending a youngster out to a much lower team, even if they do play regularly and whilst they may attract interest after this - that is the only benefit. The way I see it, we tend to loan players too far down, then fail to get them integrated into the first team. Follow-up loans tend to see them returning to the same team, then they end up being released down the line. I am optimistic that this loan will enable Reynolds to be extended beyond just one month, giving him further valuable game time. If he finds his feet, and does well. Then it will show Notts that he's capable and ensuring that he remains on loan would be beneficial. I just hope he doesn't end up being loaned to multiple teams this season. I am not sure about the limits involved, but you want youngsters to be settled, and whilst they might not care about leaving one environment for another. It tends to be a pattern that continues beyond that initial loan spell. Both Ryley Reynolds and James Sanderson look like promising players who will only further improve based around who they are playing alongside, and what opportunities they are given. I hope Stuart Maynard will be the first Notts manager in a long time to realise that our youth just need to play, and settle within the first team environment.
  13. Be sure not to forget the "i", otherwise it will be you paying. Now, should I remember this for the next time we meet? ???? A swift visit to the ACP, and I'll be sorted.
  14. Today, I am focusing on getting jobs done which I never have the time to do. At some point I will drag myself out, so I can go see my dad. I haven't managed to do this since our family break, and I really want to catch up. There's not a lot on a Saturday that happens when I am not attending a game. It's all work-related mostly, but today does feel cosy to a point. Did you know, the Royal Mail at times now delivers some Amazon items? They say that people aren't sending letters as much, but that is simply due to the cost. The higher it goes, the fewer people are willing to spend to send a simple letter, and it's the act of a company that isn't able to adapt with the times. I would assume they are wanting to focus on where the most money is available to them, at the exspence of their more affordable options but requires more time from their staff. At some point the price will make stamps defunct, at which point they will have to compete more closely with parcel companies - unless they realise that making stamps actually affordable, and of value, would increase the demand for them. At which point will it be too late? They have recently made the price to print your own stamps online universally the same price. With the only benefit that you can give your letters, parcels to the mail man doing your round (sometimes it's their partner who drives a van). I think reducing paper waste is a good idea, but none of the Royal Mail's actions are focused on this and solely come down to money. Just like companies are now prioritising emails over letters. We still live in a time when physical paper counts for something, and I personally would rather send letters in some instances but sooner, or later it will be a thing of the past.
  15. Blackpool 2-2 Northampton Town Stockport County 0-1 Wrexham (Joker) Accrington Stanley 0-2 Swindon Town Barrow 0-1 AFC Wimbledon Bromley 1-2 Carlisle United Braintree Town 0-0 AFC Fylde Hartlepool United 1-0 Eastleigh Yeovil Town 1-1 Halifax Town
  16. What's the chance that he actually likes Forest? I think it's quite possible. Watching the Sky Sports video, I can see why he said what he did, but doing it on video, and he clearly knew it was being recorded is extremely silly. Still, I don't think his decision was biased against disliking Liverpool. Their fans, etc, seem to be trying to make it about that, but it's not. Virgil van Dyke was offside. Jordan Pickford could have been spoken too, but under the rules he committed no foul despite it being a dangerous challenge.
  17. Jatta has been a remarkable signing. When we were linked I didn't think it would be true and when we signed him I felt pleasantly surprised by how he fit in. The early signs looked promising, with how he held the ball up, and waved between defenders. He seemed to instantly settle in, and it's great to see how much us Notts fans have taken to him. You can't underestimate that support. I have no concerns about his departure to represent The Gambia. We'll be fine, and he really has earned this. I hope he does well, and manages to secure a place in their team. It's great to have internationals at this level.
  18. I heard about this yesterday. Being registered as a Notts fan doesn't really mean much, but I can't see why people can't be professional. The whole thing is stupid, what would the purpose of recording it be? You have to be pretty thick to do it. I have been told he's claiming he was "drunk", he didn't seem very much under the influence Mike Dean should do one too, he'd defend anyone.
  19. In my view, sending parcels within the United States is significantly more affordable, while Royal Mail seems to be on the brink of collapse due to the price. If only they put as much effort into saving it, as they did mess with their post masters. --- @Fan of Big Tone: It's difficult to talk about your day(s) when you don't feel things are productive, or it's just work related. I wouldn't feel defeated with the lack of replies, because it is good to have something in general we can talk about. Personally, I mean to but end up forgetting. --- Yesterday, a friend took me and @cheeky~k8 up to Wilford Hill cemetery. It was nice to get up there, it's been something I have been meaning to do sooner. Unfortunately, I didn't feel well returning and by 2pm I fell fast asleep. Woke up 7ish, still felt crap and then fell asleep again. I think the coldness is hitting me for six, but I should get used to it. There will always be good and bad days.
  20. I briefly checked the score on Twitter after the final whistle yesterday, and I noticed quite a lot of comments about the performance not being good enough. Like, I thought most fans didn't care about this cup? I personally don't. I know, it was claimed to be the case - so I am not sure why people are bothered. Notts won. Cedwyn Scott found the back of the net. We can focus on bigger things now. The performance doesn't really matter, as we were always very likely to have been out, and I just see the EFL trophy as a waste of time. We have bigger things to focus on, also, why does a player having a subpar game like Riley Reynolds mean he's "not good enough". It was one bloody game for heaven's sake. Plus, I am sure the Leicester team has some good potential within it.
  21. I think it's been good to see how closely each player has been voted for. I think George Abbott had a great game. Congratulations, George!
  22. I can't see his outspoken nature changing or being reigned in, even if he ends up being fined or whatever. He's always saying something controversial, it's partly why I am glad he's not involved in English football. Whilst he can be funny, I just prefer to ignore things related to him.
  23. I was about to point this out, as I feel Jodi's form was bringing the best out of Dan Crowley. There was a period, whereby those two were very dominant in our team, very dangerous having them in our attack, and the injury to Jodi Jones seems to have impacted Crowley slightly - along with his own injury woes. I still feel Dan Crowley has been immense this season, and would be my Player of the Season. At this point, at least. If we spoke about "signings", then Jacob Bedeau has to be up there with one of the best recruited players, but you could throw Matty Platt and Alex Bass into the mix. It's a very interesting, and difficult thing to decide. It should make the Pride of Nottingham awards at the end of the season interesting.
  24. We must always recognise the significance, bravery, and sombre nature of Remembrance Sunday. It's time for us to reflect, and appreciate those who fought, fallen and put their lives to defending the freedom of our country. Many aspects of life that once held significance are now increasingly taken for granted by some people today. I remember them, I owe a lot of gratitude, and thanks for how things are now due to them. Lest We Forget.
  25. Jevani Brown was our main attacking threat, but he was involved in our defensive side and there were times when he just needed releasing with the ball a bit quicker. I think he played very well, but we were somewhat limited at times with our movement with credit to Doncaster for being more organised. Alex Bass does deserve a shoutout for his efforts, as he kept them at bay and was unlucky to concede the goal they did manage to score. My vote does go to Brown though.
