  1. @TheSkipper it's not even the 2 that pick up the players from the league. Dortmund go for the younger players and develop them, which is great to see, the likes of Bellingham going from Birmingham to Dortmund and becoming a fantastic midfielder that he is. Jadon Sancho developed himself there. I always say if a young player wants to develop themselves, avoid big clubs in England and go to the Bundesliga. They have an incredible talent of developing players. Bayern on the other hand buy who ever they want and even manage to snap up players from Dortmund for a ridiculously low price. In England, players switch for 50m+.
  2. @DangerousSausage never really looked at that flip side to the 50+1 rule tbf. Interesting take on it. It just seems to be that clubs with the most investment or means to get money almost always guarantee themselves as top teams challenging year after year. Which is why we have such a love for the FA Cup as there are upsets galore that happen along the way before ultimately a "top" team wins it but a few surprises happen either along the way or a fairytale end. I think leagues like the Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga could have done with the Super League going ahead as it would provide better competition. Obviously in the end there may be clubs that find a way to get the investment to out spend and dominate once again. Serie A is one league that you often look at and believe it's not a league that just one team dominates. There may be the same old at the top but even then new teams rise up and claim them spots.
  3. @super_pie oh 100% it's the one thing that frustrates me on FIFA when people pass across goal to score an easy tap in. But, you might surprise yourself could be a worldie or a well worked goal.
  4. @Chris yeah that's what gave me the idea. The other night I scored a great goal that I was properly satisfied with but it wasn't a screamer, the play beforehand was great to see. @liampie yeah I only play for an hour or 2 till my missus gets home from work. On weekends probably a bit longer, sometimes. Just thought it was something new to introduce. Obviously it'll be changed to EA Sports FC starting from the next game
  5. @super_ram agreed, been nice today but bit chillier than previous days but at least the rains held off. Thought it was gonna rain earlier though. Glad it's held off so I could get the grass cut
  6. Does anyone on here play FIFA? Was thinking of having a new monthly content like MOTD have on the first show of each month. FIFA players upload their favourite/best goal they've scored on the game and create a poll see who gets goal of the month. What's everyone's thoughts?
  7. Not done too much this weekend tbf. Mowed the grass yesterday morning. Although had a couple of issues with the trimmer, first it got snagged on a stubborn bit of grass that tangled up in some thorny bush and then the part of the strimmer that holds the wire in place snapped off fortunately managed to get some new strimmer wire and the snapped part just about holds in place, for now anyway We then had my brother in law over for dinner, had a few drinks played Fall Guys and watched the 1% Club (terrific game show advise anyone who hasn't watched it to watch it). Also watched WWE Night of Champions, which was an alright PLE. Today, out in the garden with the kids and a few games of cards. The kids can be sore losers at times Bank Holiday Monday tomorrow means an extra day off before returning to reality on Tuesday.
  8. It's almost a formality that Bayern come out on top of the Bundesliga. Dortmund did well to push them though and the gaps closing at the top more teams are appearing to compete. It's very hard for any other team to compete with Bayern. I know they have the 50+1 rule in Germany but a club as big as them, it'll take something extraordinary for someone to compete with them financially. The Bundesliga is a bit like the Premier League in a sense that teams surprise others by getting a one off result or challenge for top 4. Bayern and Man City, currently, are the 2 teams that might get caught by an odd result every now and again, be pushed for the title and get some dominant wins but they manage to pretty much always come out on top and it's hard to see them being caught.
  9. There's surely more that could be done by the EFL and FA to stop things like this happening. It's frustrating to see when clubs haven't got financial means to pay players and staff then are faced with further punishment financially, the thing they're struggling with in the first place. Docking of points is justified, as it prevents clubs getting further in debt with a financial punishment. But on the other hand, there are Premier League clubs that overspend but fail to receive any sort of punishment for the similar things EFL teams get punished of.
  10. Luton's rise has been absolutely remarkable and this video just about sums up and puts into perspective how big of an achievement it is for them to go from Non-League to Premier League. Hopefully we can replicate something similar.
  11. I'm happy with the retained list and the players who have been offered a new deal. It's good that they want to keep this group as together as they can. Glad to see they've offered Jodi Jones a deal. He could be a great player for us next season. I feel like Vincent possibly should have been offered a new deal but as the statement suggests, if he can't be given what he needs then this is unfortunately the right decision. The least surprising has to be Kairo, never really made an impact and was never really in contention. Didn't rate him too much. Aside from the listed players, I like how Luke Williams mentioned how he's happy to let others take charge of dealings that he's gonna maximise progression of players brought in.
  12. My bad, I'm new to this game didn't realise Lee Hughes had already been used. First player that sprung to mind with that description
  13. Slater and Stallard are a joy to listen to. You can hear the passion Stall has for Notts, he adores this club. Celebration so good it cut the broadcast feed Definitely want to see more of these videos in the future.
  14. Finally had the opportunity to sit down to watch this and it's one hell of a great video. Everything about this group of players was on show. Pride, Passion, Togetherness. You could see how much it meant to everyone. Thoroughly enjoyable watch.
  15. For me, it has to be Roberto Carlos v France in 97. Although I'd rank Beckham v Greece in 2001 quite highly up there from an Englishman perspective. What's your guys take on being the most iconic free kick?
  16. @Chris 100% there. While it may be an after thought to put on something like this, I'm sure it will still be well attended and at least it's something.
  17. Don't really know too much about him. From what I've read, it sounds like it could be a good move. Luke Williams worked with him at Bristol City so there is a connection and I'm sure LW will know how to get the best out of him. I also trust the recruitment process as they haven't really got much wrong have they? However, despite the possible low figure he could sign for due to contract expiring (according to reports), could this be a swap deal because it's been noted that Bristol City have been keen on taking Langstaff?
  18. @Fan of Big Tone fair assessment that. I think it was an underestimation about them doing it or having a turn out. As you say they're trying to keep face after seeing the celebrations that happened after.
  19. @super_ram I remember that fiasco Wasn't it Richard Keogh that got let go following it? Can't blame them for being overjoyed but as most have said has to be cautious.
  20. @super_ram will do pal It's something to keep hold of for sure.
  21. What do you guys think about this? Feels like they've underestimated Notts and not been prepared for such an occasion. As you can imagine it hasn't gone down too well on social media.
  22. I think they're all living it up and being on such a high following what's happened this season, who can blame them? It's just great to see them all having a great time. I don't think there's anything more than just abit of fun about what they're doing out there. Definitely keeping an eye on social media as it seems to be very entertaining. But I do agree with many of your guys points there does need to be a bit of caution about what they're doing.
