  1. Have to feel sorry for both of these. Gary O'Neil did well for Bournemouth, managed to keep them in the Premier League and pulled off some great results with him as head coach. While Darren Moore got Sheffield Wednesday promoted after guiding them to one of the greatest comebacks in football. The Bournemouth one is understandable as they had a replacement already lined up with how quick the new manager has been announced. However, I feel that's a bit shady from the club to already have someone lined up before the man in charge is still at the club. Never liked clubs like that. I'm not buying the whole mutual consent situation with Darren Moore that seems to get thrown around as a cop out by the club. I could be wrong and I'll stand corrected if it is actually the case. What's everyone's opinion, if you have any, on these sackings?
  2. @TheSkipper understand work can get in the way of watching the games, especially tournaments. I was fortunate that the last 2 tournaments England played at times out of work hours so I didn't have to miss a single one. Although England's opening 6-2 win v Iran, I did book the day off once the fixtures got announced.
  3. @Chris Pineapples are elite fruit. But I used to be against them on Pizza until we had a delivery at work a few years back which came with pineapple on pizza and since then I've had a different opinion on Pineapple on pizza. Judging by this thread, I'm the only one that does agree with it actually being on
  4. @Nocturnal-Magpie don't forget Spurs did win the Audi Cup in recent years I can't see why it seems appealing to go Spurs to further his career and "win trophies" either. @Chris I'd normally agree with media reports twisting the blade but with it being Fabrizio Romano it is a very credible quote as he's 99% accurate with the things he reports. Totally agree with the fact of if a player shows a lack of respect to his current club to force a move why do they attract interest from clubs? They could well in fact do the same when they reach their new destination.
  5. @DangerousSausage I thought it has always been illegal but you often see reports of players agreeeinf personal terms before a deal has actually been made between the clubs. But 100% all for players wanting to move up in their careers but as you said there's ways to do it and going public undermining your own club burning bridges and all that isn't the way to get a move away.
  6. Interested to get people's take on this. I get that players have ambitions and want to further there careers but sometimes the grass isn't greener on the other side. Brentford have progressed this season to narrowly miss out on a European place themselves. Is a move to Spurs really a step up given their record of trophyless seasons they've endured for many years? From what I've heard Brentford are more than willing to let Raya leave and have set a price tag but none of the interested clubs seem willing on paying it. Raya has been solid in goal for Brentford this season and there's a reason for such interest being shown in him but I think comments like this are unacceptable and basically makes the player sound like he's bigger and better than the club which should never be the case in any club.
  7. @upthepies under Southgate I wouldn't hold your breath on that one. He might give them chances in friendlies for a bit of game time but it'll be little then when it comes to competitive games, he reverts back to his favourites.
  8. * Age backwards: 03 * Steak or Seafood: Steak * Italian or Chinese: Chinese * Pepsi or Coke: Pepsi * Chocolate or vanilla: Vanilla * How many tattoos : 1 * Ever hit a deer: Nope * Last text from: Brother in Law * Favourite season: Summer * Broken bones: Yes, too many to list * Beach or Mountain: Beach * Dogs or cats: 100% Dogs * Early morning person: Do it for work but not really. * Surgeries: 1 for my Snapped Ankle * Favourite colour: Blue * Have you ever flown on a plane: Many times * Beer or Wine: Beer * Mild or hot salsa: Mild * Waffles or pancakes: Waffles * Smooth or crunchy peanut butter: Neither * Pineapple on pizza: used to be against it but having tried it I quite like it. It does belong on a pizza.
  9. @CliftonMagpie absolutely. When. World Cups and Euros come around it's a big occasion for every football fan to unite together. It's a great feeling.
  10. @liampie totally get it, I try to keep tweets at a minimum sometimes because social media can be a toxic place especially by those who hide behind anonymous accounts. It's why I also try keep personal life away from twitter and keep it more for like Facebook.
  11. @eighteensixtytwo agreed, they weren't as much of a test or as hard to break down as I thought they would have been. @CliftonMagpie fully professional performance from England. They had chances to get in but were either very wasteful or the lack of player quality. Didn't think Malta were as hard to deal with as they made them out to be pre-game.
  12. @Fan of Big Tone he deserved every bit of compliment they gave him. Every time he got the ball he looked like causing an issue and was always willing to attack England's defence but had very limited options. Still he managed to make something happen on a few occasions. @Chris it was routine and he did well as a striker but you could see him dropping deeper just to get the ball that bit more and spark an attack from deep.
  13. @Chris tournaments are one of them things that, even though England do qualify for pretty much all of them, they're a must watch for any football fan even if England didn't make it. I do agree players didn't seem to care when playing for England. It appeared more name/club over country and never played with the passion England once had with the likes of Pearce, that roar in Euro 96. But there seems to be more pride in them these days tbf. I do understand why people don't tune in to many of the games though as I said even though we're dominating it's against lower teams and it can be quite boring to see England score 6+ goals against minnows. Especially when it's games against San Marino, Andorra etc.

  15. How many of us on here watch England games? What's your views on England Internationals or International football as whole? From a personal point of view I always tune in to watch England no matter the opponent or the form they're in. Even though it's an endless cycle of build up hope, get disappointed, moan and repeat. However games against lesser nations where we're expected to get a comfortable result, even though I'm watching the games, I'm not fully tuned in to the game as much as I would be if it was a more competitive game whether it be bigger opposition or a major tournament. I get the whole "you can only beat what's infront of you" but I'd much rather be seeing more competitive matches. The competitive games grab my interest just that bit more. But as I've said, I'll always tune in no matter the opposition. The good thing about this qualification campaign is that it's a bit more competitive than we've had in the past. There's games where we're expected to win but there are also teams that could be a banana skin and England need to be on their toes to avoid that. Maybe it's just the fact that for years we've had easy qualification campaigns only to fail in tournaments that's made me have these sort of opinions but I feel like international football as a whole would benefit from having a more competitive format which is why I'm a fan of the Nations League as it separates teams more suited to eachother to make it more competitive. Even though I was disappointed in England getting relegated from the Nations League, it was good for England to actually have to work to try get a result.
  16. Only had the ball a few times in that first half but when he did have the ball, he was impressive and looked a great threat. If Malta are to get anything in this game, it's gonna come through him. Looks very confident and not afraid to take on players. Even pulled off the Maradona turn.
  17. Be a good experience for him to face England. Strange that I want to see him put in a good performance even though he's playing against England. Having said that hopefully it's not too good of a performance though
  18. It's terrific news that he's signed a new deal. I don't think there was ever any doubt about him signing a contract. The longer it went on, it's understandable why rumours started floating around about him leaving as @allardyces tash said the club probably already knew he was gonna sign but it's good to have it actually finalised.
  19. After the previous owners we've had, it's nice to finally have owners who have a real passion for the game and run this club the way it needs to be ran. Their recruitment process has also been fantastic as they suit to what the club needs.
  20. @Fan of Big Tone I've got a different opinion on cricket to what I used to have. I was never really one for cricket as I didn't find it too appealing but after watching a handful of games over the past couple years, I quite like it. Wouldn't say I'm one who'd watch it all the time but things like the ashes I might give a game or 2 a watch.
  21. I'll admit I do find a lot of topics interesting from the same people but haven't followed any of them. Must do this going forward.
  22. We haven't had a family holiday since 2018 which was to Skeg in 2018. We was supposed to be going back 2 years ago, had everything booked and saved up ready for it, but due to covid restrictions they cancelled our booking because we have a Leicestershire postcode, at the time they were preventing travel from this area. We're hoping to have a holiday soon though. Have been offered a mates families caravan during the 6 weeks holidays but it's too short a notice to start saving up. Although, my wife's friend has a caravan and she's told us we can use it for free, as long as there's no bookings around the time we want, all we'd have to pay for is electric and gas so there's a possibility of getting a holiday at some point. Growing up, I was lucky enough to go Orlando 4 times. Hopefully one day we'll be able to take the kids but only when they're old enough to have proper memories from it. I have so many great memories from family holidays. It's just unfortunate we've never been in a position to take the kids as much as we'd hoped. While I feel privileged to have gone abroad many times growing up, I do wish I had more family holidays in and around England as my wife and her family used to go Cornwall every year and there's so many places in England I've heard people go to that have been amazing places to visit.
  23. I tend to come on PoN check notifications and then check out the topics that are being discussed and have an input on topics that catch my eye and I feel like I can contribute to. I try to keep as up to date as I can with everything that's going on here but sometimes I haven't got time getting round to doing so.
  24. I have a wide variety of taste in music. Although, I don't particularly like today's music. There seems to be a lack of originality and feel good factor like they used to be. Clubland, Rock or Pop Punk are my top 3 genres. I can just about listen to anything tbf. Mostly due to growing up I was introduced to multiple different types of music. Limp Bizkit and Oasis are up there as my favourites to listen to.
